In many cars you can take the battery out of the fob, its easy to hide in the car, and leave both in the car. Take the valet key with you. In my car, I have to keep the driver side door open and then press the automatic door lock button. That way all the door are locked except the drivers door. I then close the drivers door and lock it with the valet key. That turns off the alarm so I can later open the door without the alarm going off. Note that is someone breaks into your car and finds the fob without the battery, they may be able to start the car manually with the fob. I take that risk until I find a better way.

Awesome! I sure could have used this 7 years ago. 36 bucks. Definitely worth it.

A little difficult to get my 3-series BMW fob in, but I discovered, and dealer confirmed, that the car will start and drive with the fob (hidden) in the car--without the valet key. That means someone can break a window, jump in and drive off...So, I bit the bullet and bought one of these. Works well, but I wish they provided longer leash strings.

Thanks for sharing. I like the idea. I will use it when I go swimming.

What about credit cards, license and cash if you don't want to leave them in the car on surf vacation trip. Will they fit in this bag.

bro what do you say about this amazon review: I am an avid waterman! I am a research vessel, captain for two different states. Surfing in Hawaii requires you to take your keys with you. Needless to say this little piece of crap ruined my key fob. $250 later and a $51 parking ticket not to mention my car got vandalized overnight. All because I believed in a reputable product. Good luck trying to get a refund. You cannot even email the company! I follow the directions perfectly. How can a little silicone pouch be posted online as “waterproof” you’re better off wrapping your key in a Trojan condom!! Total garbage and Way-over priced!!

There are a lot of 1 star reviews for this thing. I'm not sure I trust it. Anyway now that you have had it for 2 years has it failed you yet?
