  • This is a video of my second world war amphibious truck. It was manufactured in 1945 by General Motors Corporation as a vehicle to move men and materials from ship-side to shore. It was designed to swim to shore and without delay, continue up onto land and drive inland.
    DUKW's were also found to be valuable in any theater that had water crossings. This truck swims on the Great Lakes and has privately owned in Canada since 1979.

    Thank you for this video! My father drove a DUKW to Easy Green Sector of Omaha Beach on D-Day, while with the 460th Amphibian Truck Company of the Sixth Engineer Special Brigades...

    My grandpa has one in his junkyard. He collects old trucks and war memorabilia.

    Hi I am helping restore one of these at the moment I am looking for photos of behind the drive's compartment in the corners both sides to help me repair it's had some old poor repairs there can you help me thanks Glen
