  • These are images of my 1945 U.S. military Studebaker M29C Water Weasel. The Weasel is an amphibious tracked vehicle that drives both on land and in the water solely through the use of it’s track drive. It has a top speed on land of approximately 35 mph and in the water swimming at 4 mph. Weasels that still have their front and rear flotation tanks installed AND that still are water tight are very rare. There are only a handful in the world that still can safely operate in the water. This video was filmed on Georgian Bay on The Great Lakes in Ontario, Canada. There are some images of this vehicle and it's workings from below the waterline. Owners of this vehicle may find this unique perspective of interest. If you wish to view more on the Weasel, I have posted other videos of this vehicle operating both in and out of the water. My videos can be readily recognized as this vehicle is painted in the U.S. Marine Corps 4 color camouflage of the period. The paint pattern has been reproduced from photos taken of a Weasel on the island of Iwo Jima in 1945 during WW2. I hope you enjoy these unique underwater views.

I'm amused by the fact that the M-29 started out as the T-15 and they reversed the passenger compartment of the tub and made it run "backwards" in the M-29 configuration. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Fantastic video! Kudos for the restoration, especially considering the vehicles rarity-John in Texas

I wonder what various other vehicles that are similar to this also exist.
