  • Continuing our Egypt series, we explore the origins of the Great Sphinx & Valley Temple, discussing the theories of who built them & when they were created, covering all the basics on this site. We also present controversial evidence that may prove that the official date that Egyptologists attribute to these monuments could be wrong. Could the Sphinx be much older than we have been taught taught…?

Again, my husband and I loved your presentation. So happy you brought in the water erosion. Isn't it interesting that the 'restoration' is now hiding this revealing element of the monument. We are of one mind, the same experts we feel are valid, you mentioned. So obvious this landmark has been recarved, and Khufu? So many greats have tried to reclaim history. This could not have been accomplished if the Sphinx was recent in his day. So relieved Hawass is now been removed-- talk about the king of spin. The Egyptians feel they have everything to gain by trying to claim all the wonders they inherited as 'their creations', but if they would just open their minds and accept that 'those who came before' were a beautiful part of their legacy, they could be just as proud. The truth is out there, the evidence is everywhere, a great civilization influenced the world but was destroyed so long ago that man's current ego will not allow their light to shine. I don't believe this will continue much longer, we are finding too many clues. Thanks for your great photography and comments, nice to view new approaches!

I did Geology at school. I'm no expert, but have been on an Egyptian tour recently. From looking at the layers of rock & their formation, height & structure. I have concluded, that the Sphinx head was re-carved, probably from a lions head. Surely carbon dating, would prove this? I went to Aswan, where I discovered Granite Rock. So, I think the ancient Egyptians, were in fact, great architects. They built their Great Temples to last & worked on the Russian Doll Theory. Outer layers having a stronger bond. The inner layers, more receptacle to art literature & storage. One things for sure, the Faroes, were powerful & spared no expense. The rock strata of the granite, suggested movements in the Earths surface. i.e. suggesting some kind of earthquake, at some point in time. I would certainly agree, that the Sphinx is from a much older time & predates Ancient Egyptian Dynasties.

The Sphinx was Reea(Reya, Re, Ra, Rya - all variants of the name, all preserved), a female tiger and I think Narmer tried to erase that history, but on his Palette, you can see two lionesses intertwined (no male parts) and under her Narmer as bull, with male parts, as well as the defeated King of Memphis, also depicted with male parts. It is the same scene, the Sphinx appears on both sides, above the defeated King. The symbolism in itself indicates female (how the necks interlock).
So, it was known by Narmer's time that the Sphinx was a woman... It was either Narmer or someone who followed who changed the identity of the Sphinx - mostly because they wanted to somehow unify the cults of Reea and Amen (they never were truly unified, but Reea became Amen-Re at a later time).
The cult of Reea started long before in Europe and it is linked to the "Lionman" of Hohlenstein-Stadel. Traces of the same myth were preserved by the Greeks - goddess Rhea was associated with a lion.
It represented Cancer, as seen on Dendera Zodiac. Reea is on the Solar Barque. I think Isis and Osiris represented Gemini, the Cosmic Twins.
The Pyramid texts provide evidence on the identity. And then Atena (Nefertiti) restored the identity properly - only to be once again buried, along with the erasure of her name from all Sekhmet statues by Horemheb.

great video, but i need to say something about the inventory stone, it was written in the later period so, to them the sphinx would be ancient. it is known that it was written later because the writing stile is from about 600BC. also it is kind of a brag because the guy who wrote the inventory stone was restoring the sphinx, compared himself to the great pharaoh Khufu and wanted him to have also restored the sphinx. so it is not because scientists are dogmatic its because they see it as irrelevant evidence, being made about 2000 years after Khufu.

These sites predate anything from early man. By thousands of years. We don't know who the original builders were, but we can discount the Ancient Egyptians as the people who built these sites.

  • @DianaAtena
    @DianaAtena Před rokem

The Sphinx appears on Narmer's Palette. There is also a thermoluminescence dating linked to the Temple, which places it at 3100 BCE. Two more are linked to the current dating of Khufu's and Thutmose IV's reigns - and they are documented to have done work there.
The one who restored the Sphinx' true identity is Nefertiti (her real name is Atena) and she presented herself as Sekhmet-the Sphinx. For short, the Sphinx was Sekhmet - who was worshipped in Memphis, which is one of the oldest cities in Egypt, definitely predynastic (it existed before 3100 BCE). A city perfectly capable of building such structures, also in close proximity to Giza...
The Pyramid texts indicate a "lioness" with 3 stripes on her neck- 3 in ancient Egyptian is plural => many stripes. TIGER. A female tiger, which explains why Sekhmet is depicted with a ruff typical to tigers (that lions do not have).
The Sphinx has stripes sculpted on his head. The Nemes headdress worn by all Kings and depicted on mortuary masks also has stripes. This is a clear reference to the origin of the people who made it - and the linguistic evidence is also there.
This links the Sphinx to Anatolia and the Black Sea area, from where Egypt originates and where tigers existed - until 1970 in Anatolia, the Middle Ages for the area North of the Black Sea. Archaeogenetics indicates the same Euro-Anatolian origin.
Amenhotep III's temple is linked to Atena (Nefertiti) as are the many statues dedicated to Sekhmet, all with names erased, as were the name of one of Amenhotep III's daughters in his mortuary temple. Two inscriptions from Amarna tombs indicate she was Queen Tya's daughter (and therefore Akhenaten's full sister).
She is the one who presented herself as the Sphinx, Sekhmet (and the elongated faces perfectly match depictions of Sekhmet on basereliefs). Only Atena's name has been consistently erased by Horemheb, who also claimed all the regnal years following Amenhotep III.
So, we have evidence of the Sphinx being predynastic, as well as who studied and restored the true identity (Atena) and why Sekhmet suddenly became so important (her healing power). Amenhotep III was ill, Atena (Nefertiti) healed him, he worshipped her as Sekhmet, returned.

No it is the statue of Kefren. Do you want to know why? Because on the west of the Nile valley in the middle of the Labia desert. There is a huge boulder of green granite, placed there after3a comet or an asteroid impacted earth millions of years ago. In this place that became a query for green hard stone, the workers writes on the stone that they query this place for their King Kefren. That's why I believe that in this case an appropriation of the statue is wrong.

Yes! I love your Utube channel!!
Your conclusions seem in line with a little known, or discussed text --the Bible! The Bible's 1st 5 books' timeline ISN'T accurate! Example, Genesis geneologies tell a story, they're not perfect geneologies. Each name has a meaning so, look at the little talked about verse: "..in the days of Peleg when the earth was devided.."! To me, the Great Sphinx IS anti-deluvion, before Noah's flood (giving credence to your conclusion about its 12,000+ bce timing). The Great Flood was global. Pre-flood lands were all connected so, naturally, megalithic stone architectures do exist in the Western Hemisphere! I can't wait for your next Utube episode!!!

The Great Sphinx was more commonly referred to and depicted as a woman before 20th century.
Then they removed some structure around the neck.
After that, Sphinx is a man, named Khafre, with no resemblance.
But hey, that does not matter, it's mainstream archeology, nobody can doubt it or ask questions!
The Great Sphinx still looks like a woman though.

Hit send by mistake. Dr Hawass is, IMHO, something of a xenophobic nationalist, incapable of seeing past the first dynasty and its people's genetic link to modern Egyptians. D Zero, and deeper into the past muddies the waters as to which ethnic group built what. Drawing a line at the first dynasty onward establishes current Egyptians as direct descendants of mankind's greatest civilization, in Dr Hawass's opinion. This in turn fosters his driving view that only Egyptian Archialogical Views should be considered valid, and that foreign museums need return their collections to Egypt. He has said as much many times, if one has been around long enough to listen. I do not mean this as a slight against Egyptian Archiologists, but rather that they labor under a tight Reign. It will be interesting to see what emerges once the current Pharoah passes into the either of eternity.

Hmmm. I FIND YOUR REPORT BIAS AND PREJUDICE BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO REPORT ON THE THOUSANDS OF CARBON-14 ANALYSIS FROM THE GIZA PLATEAU. CAN YOU FIND STATE ONE THAT ACTUALLY PREDATES MAINSTREAM THINKING - NO YOU CAN'T WHY BECAUSE THE CONTRADICTS YOUR NARRATIVE. So the cartouche in the diorite statue is false. Interesting that the original owner didn't put his own name in there. By the way weathering on stone is no more a dating technique than color. Which is older a blue car or a red car? Do we say a red cars older? Some of the stones from the Sphinx Temple have been TLD dated and although don't agree with mainstream thinking, they are much closer to mainstream than Schoch. Further there have been thousands of carbon-14 samples analyze from the Giza plateau - NOT A SINGLE ONE AGREES WITH SCHOCH. FOR THE MOST PART THEY ARE WITHIN MAINSTREAM THINKING.

We are just reporting what we learn along the way. Our views have actually changed a lot since we made this video. Your comment is a little confusing…. But if you know better info, maybe point people in the direction of videos you make that provide more thorough analysis.

CZcams is not letting me post the necessary links. However you can search for carbon-14 analysis of the Giza Plateau and there are many sites that have that information. TLD dating of the Sphinx Temple doesn't even come close to what Robert Shock says it should be.

Cool, thanks. Your tone in the first comment came off as a bit hostile in the sense that you assumed we were intentionally leaving stuff out…. You can mellow out a bit and people might be more inclined to hear what you have to say.

Anyone that recommens Jimmy at Bright Insight had got to be a total idiot. I watched him in his own videos where the information just behind him in his own video proves he's lying - LOL!!! The carbon-14 analysis started back in 1985 by none other than a supporter of Edgar Cayce a fellow name Mark Lehner. Try this simple exercise "which site on the Giza Plateau actually carbon dates from 10,000 years ago" can you name one? The bottom line there was no infrastructure on the Giza Plateau 10,000 years ago to support the construction of the Sphinx. There are no graves no cities no human remains from that time. Guess what, we do have it from the dynastic times.

BTW I read Christopher Dunn's book. And yes I studied power plants in college. I sure hope you're not gullible enough to believe it.
