  • I headed out to The Seven Sisters with my new ONDU rise 4x5 loaded with Fomapan 100. I made a few mistakes along the way, but had a great time with this beautiful camera and look forward to heading back out with it again.

Hi Will, thank you for uploading this video, I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I appreciate you sharing your mistakes too as we all can learn a lot from them. I had that 'darkslide going back in the wrong side of the film' (Fomapan) no idea why. Looking forward to your next video as I'm confident you will get some really good images, the Ondu shows a lot of promise, I could be tempted to order one after xmas, atb.

Hi Michael. I am always tempted to delete the mistakes (or learning experiences 😉), and it's always nice to hear I'm not the only one making them 😂
Glad you like the photos, hopefully going to try some urban around town and countryside churches soon to try the rise feature out better.

If the dark slide thing happens again, put the camera back down and try putting the dark slide back in

Nice results, really! And sharing your learning experiences makes me feel less dumb, because I am always impressed how many things can go wrong and will go wrong no matter how experienced you are. I recently wanted to shoot 6x9 images with my Multiformat, and somehow managed to read the film transport numbers for 6x6. At least I noticed it after 4 shots. :)

Thank you very much, it is very easy for things to go wrong and normally do in one way or another, either shooting or developing :)

Great images Will, the rise seems to work really well. Look forward to see how it would work on say a church with a tall spire. Great video.

Thank you Jim, it does seem to work well, I should hopefully be visiting some local countryside churches over Christmas for some photos.

nice one Will, there is something to be said for the simplicity of not using the shutter release. Look forward to seeing some architecture shots with the rise :)

Thank you Matt, I hopefully going to try some photos around town soon, and some countryside churches over Christmas to give the rise a proper try.

Why is there a gate in the middle of a field? Can't you walk around it?

Normally gets connected up to an electric fence when they put the cattle down here, yes I could have walked around it 🙄

I'm thinking of getting an Ondu from their website. What have the delivery times been like for you? Cheers.

Hi, delivery wasn't too bad, from what I remember a few weeks. I think they have set days when they deliver, after they have a quantity of cameras built.
Would be worth messaging them and they will give you a good estimate of how long it will take.

Yes I know, I remembered afterwards there was one sheet that didn't feel it was sitting right in the holder.
