Ordering groceries online for pick-up so I don't get pulled into end caps and register junk. And I can really limit my spending as the app keeps track of what I'm spending.
And using envelopes! My husband needed a jacket. I gave him the envelope with the clothing money in it. And we found a nice one for under that amount! We're know exactly what we can spend!

I've been out of control since my birthday back in October and Chirstmas was no better. But this is definitely helpful and motivating to be more intentional. Thank you!

As you mentioned in the video, I am trying to avoid spending because of outside pressures. I think especially around the holidays and at social events, there is more pressure around spending. I also have been trying to cut down restaurant expenses. If I get a craving for something, I look for online recipes to make it myself. If I go to a more expensive restaurant, I do not eat out again for a longer period of time.

I would say though that there are many things that you could reduce cost on that are in "need" categories. For your cellphone, you could buy a more budget phone that is less than $300 and it is still great quality so you don't have that hanging over your head. Used cars also help you save a lot of money. I got mine off of Facebook for over half of its true value. Although this is a less common purchase, you can save a lot of money through negotiation. I also do my own handy work (easy home and auto repairs/replacements) by watching youtube videos.
