Most people think installing their own skylight shade is difficult. Follow the simple step-by-step instructions in this video, and you'll have your skylight shade installed in no time.
    1. At the top corners of the skylight window, measure 4” in from each end and make a mark with a pencil. If you need more than two brackets, make evenly spaced marks for them between your outer marks.
    2. Measure back from each mark and make another mark for your desired depth (2 ½” minimum).
    3. Center the back of a bracket at each mark, and use your pencil to mark the screw holes.
    4. Pre-drill holes at each mark with a 5/64” drill bit, then install each bracket with the provided screws.
    5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 to install brackets at the bottom of the window. Make sure to use the same depth for each bracket as you did at the top of the window.
    6. Return to the top of the window and place your battery clips behind the brackets. Mark the screw hole for each clip, pre-drill a hole at the marks, and then secure the clips with the provided screws.
    7. Remove the screw cap from the end of the battery pack and insert the included AA batteries. Screw the cap back on, and then connect the pack to the motor.
    8. Pair the shade with the remote; press and hold the button on top of the motor until it begins to beep. Between the 4th and 5th long beeps, use your pencil to press the C button on the back of the remote. The shade will jog and beep to confirm the shade is paired with the remote.
    9. Hold the shade up to the top of the window, and snap the battery pack into the clips. Slip the headrail into the brackets so that the front of each bracket slides under the front groove of the top rail.
    10. Center the rail in the window, and then roll it back until it snaps into the brackets.
    11. Cut the rubber bands around the rails with your scissors.
    12. Press and hold the down button on the remote until the shade lowers to the bottom of the window. Guide it with your hands to take the stress off the cords.
    13. Install the bottom rail to the bottom brackets in the same manner as the top rail.
    14. Pre-drill holes every 12” on the skinny panel of the side tracks.
    15. Place the side tracks against the top and bottom rails, with the wide flange facing the room. Use the provided screws to secure the tracks to the window, making sure they are parallel with each other.
    16. Use the up and down buttons to test the shade. If the moving rail isn’t straight as it operates, locate the adjustment dials on each end of the rail.
    17. Use a flathead screwdriver to turn the dials clockwise (tighten) or counterclockwise (loosen). Use quarter turns on either side until the rail is level (don’t overturn the dial).
    18. Move the shade up or down in small intervals by quickly pressing up or down on the remote. To raise or lower the shade faster, press and hold the up or down buttons for a few seconds.

Skylights are very different in every home so the screws might not hit studs and may need good drywall anchors.

Ordered a battery charger, but cannot find where to plug it into the shade itself. How often will I have to charge the shade itself.

The heat doesn’t warp or damage the batteries? I live in Texas.

Are the brackets, side rails, blinds and instructions completely different for the non motorized version? What I just unpacked for the Luxe Skylight shade doesn't match this video at all.

Do NOT follow these instructions if you are trying to install the non-motorized version!! Despite what the video says, the instructions are COMPLETELY different. In fact, their provided instruction manual is barely applicable.
