If a person is just starting out (buying their first chainsaw), a nice 50-60 cc chainsaw like this is a good place to start. If you keep your chain sharp, it will get you through the big stuff. You also won't feel worn out at the end of the day limbing/bucking average stuff. For me, it's been my 2005 Jonsered CS-2152 these past 18 years. My other 3 saws are older. :) I own 72 acres of woods, cut, & burn firewood, too. I just like using a good 50-60cc chainsaw for the majority of the time. If my Jonsered died today, I would strongly consider this slightly larger Makita 5600 tomorrow. It's a shame Makita stopped production of their gas chainsaws (Dolmars) in 2022. I might regret not picking one up while they are still available some day.
I dont so much mind plastic cased saws. Years ago I'd of agreed with you on your point. I've used an old used ms310 for several years without any failures. I've even used it on a mill some
I’ve been on the lookout for a dolmar or makita for a while. But there like stihls. Guy around here want almost new price for a used up saw. And for a fact there are still NOS saws still for sale. Yes I do see that stock is almost gone but it’s not yet. I can still get a 7900 new and may have to do that cause every guy around me want $650 + for a saw that is $900 new.
you have little mental and intellectual formation you don't even know what you're doing or saying makita 5600 or dolmar Ps550 are "professional" chainsaws, they are from the professional line. Although I love and work with Husqvarna chainsaws and they are my favorite I must say and prove that the best 60cc professional chainsaw at the moment is the Dolmar ps 6100

Good little saw!
I wish they still made those saws. They seem super cool if you get a good deal on one. At least it runs 😅
HD occasionally sells off their rental units.
Beautiful work Man that little thing can cut
that saw kicks some ass. impressive for what it is.
Much better👍🏻 hopefully I'll get one someday. Wont be as easy tho, now that they stopped production😢
Love that thing.!! Port it 🙏🔥❤️🔥
Thats a really nice saw.
The 5600 is such a kickass saw
I've got the 113. Good saw.
Makita and Dolmar saws look pretty awesome even if they may not be...lol
I’d love to have a 7900 or any dolmar makita saw , I’ve heard you can get amazing results when they are ported
Theyre outstanding completely stock! My mew 7900 is STOUT and light! Handles as nice and weight wise feels like my 372xp. Sold the 372 shortly after
What is your opinion on purchasing this saw today being makita isn’t making gas saws anymore. Considering this saw or husqvarna 555.

No reason to be mean.
