    Awesome review again Jonathan. I always watch your channel here in Australia for the latest on Sonos, B&O and B&W. Watched your BMW X7 test last year as I was about to order an X5M50i and on your recommendation, ordered the B&W Hi Fi. Sounds Brilliant in the X5! I have some E8’s but after watching this video, will buy some EQ’s for the ANC when travelling. Thanks for the accurate info

    Hi. I really liked your comparison. I have the jabra 85t and i want to upgrade to the next level. Also, i am really disappointed from the call quality of the 85t. Everyone tells me that there is a lot of background noise and they can not hear me !!! all the time !!! I can not understand why the 85t have good anc for me (so i hear everyone clear and clear music) but there is not anc for the other end. So they can also hear only me and not my scrounging. I realy like to hear from you how the eq on call quality. I am talking aboute a situation when i am near a road with cars or in the mall and people talking. Everyday use basically. Thanks man 😁

    Great review! I owned the Pi7s and returned them for EQ’s. I love the B&O app which to me is a lot better then the B&W app. My iPad Pro Gen4 and iPhone Pro Max 12 would not connect all the time to the Pi7’s . I use Tidal and I can tell you the EQ’s sound amazing using Tidal. I also have H95’s and the B&O Portal’s haha. If you are deep within the B&O echo system I would go with EQ’s all day long. I feel B&O products get better with age.

    You explained that these earphones work best with the app to adjust sound. Once you've made an adjustment, do you know if these earphones adjust internally or do you have to be linked to a phone in order to retain settings? For example, as well as a phone, I might want to use with other devices such as a sony walkman.

    Hi Jonathan thank you for another superb review having purchased these I was waiting for this review.
    As a devoted B&O fan I jumped on these as soon as I found out they were available despite their premium price tag I managed to get both colors. While I agree with your precise findings, I am a bit perplexed and find it a bit odd as to why B&O just decided to omit the most important touch controls, Fast Forward & Rewind Touch Controls or maybe at least provide Touch Control Customisation as oppose to relying on the voice assistant on ios (siri) or android (google) to skip or rewind tracks !!! Despite offering pretty much every other touch controls.
    Aside from this little short coming the sound coupled with beosound app makes these little gems come alive with out distortion even at maximum volume they sound good rich and powerful with out the boomy bleeding Bass or skull shattering Treble Sibilance. The EQ buds despite the increase in size compared to previous Gen E8 are quite comfortable for long listening sessions with out irritation or fatigue while providing a good seal.
    Like you said i also found The adoptive ANC is among the best I have heard not exactly at Bose level but very close to Sony XM4s and it works well with out altering the sound quality like some make and models.
    I keep going for these more and more now as I found their sound quality really addictive.
    Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that maybe they decide to fix the fast forward and rewind touch controls at some point.

    I have never used these type of Inear phones before being an old Luddite, I currently use my
    Shure 535 SE Red phones with a Balanced cable into my Astell and Kern DAP.
    How would these wireless phones work with Real Audio players instead on flipping phones?
    I rip my audio files in WAV or FLAC and that is how I listen to my music never MP3, so how would
    these Type of phones work with these and would the software work with my player?
    Would you recommend the B&O to me or what do you think I should go for plus can I buy through you please?

    • @smarthomesounds
      @smarthomesounds  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi Andrew, thank you for your comment. You cannot connect the EQs directly to a DAP. It would have to go through some sort of Bluetooth which is not ideal for hi-res due to the compression process. They are really intended to be used for streaming. You would probably be best looking for some wired earphones or headphones for what you intend to use them for, unless you have a purpose for listening via Bluetooth. I hope this helps!

    • @jeffreyallanrich
      @jeffreyallanrich Před 2 lety +1

      They remember 8 devices, you will typically have to stop broadcasting from one device to pair to another. This can be done when the buds are in the case or with a handy pairing mode in app. It will remember the last device and automatically pair. Frankly, apples auto pairing is more of a curse than a blessing for me and I love the B&O app so although it’s not seamless, I enjoy it.

    Just received my new pair of "EQ's" this morning directly from B&O. Couldn't wait to give them a test run.. Wow, what a letdown. Build-quality case/buds are fantastic and the audio quality is really, really good. BUT you have to max out the volume to get that premium audio (80% or above) - older recordings with lower dynamic range really suffer because it's still not that loud - even turned all the way up. 2) There also is no option to skip tracks either going forward or back from the controls on the buds AND there are no options for voice assistant (SIRI/Google) activation also directly from your ears. This is a huge FAIL from B&O on a set of $400+ earbuds. Maybe at some point the company will update the (somewhat lackluster) app to include these features but at this price point these BASIC controls should already be there. Bowers & Wilken's' PI7 is a much better premium option: equal build-quality, equal (if not better) audio and track skip/voice assistant access. Sennheiser's Momentum 2's are also another great choice and around $100 - $150 less with the best ANC of these three, to boot. I really wanted to love these new Beoplay's but they are sorely lacking in some very basic features, especially for what they cost. Don't waste your money, look elsewhere..

      Update is coming with track controls and it sounds like you haven’t found the right fit yet. Have you tried all of the ear tips? Be sure to download the app for equalizer controls - if you like punchier sound it can handle with ease with its new drivers. I have no problem with volume (although they are not the loudest I’ve had). The one thing I don’t expect to change or be added is voice assistant. The reasons to buy these, apart from the obvious luxury feel, is wireless charging, pocketable case, equalizer control and BT 5.2 with Aptx which you won’t find on BW pi7 or Sennheisers. This not only means a stronger connection, it means your apps won’t have latency, important if you ever play mobile games.

      @@jeffreyallanrich Hi Jeff, on further reconsideration I'm thinking about buying the EQ's again (since I returned the last pair to B&O). If there truly is an update on the horizon for a skip track function that will make all the difference - I can live without the voice assistant function. Maybe I'll give it another go, if my wallet can handle it(?!)..

      He was wearing them completely wrong, it was almost painful to watch. The logo should stand level and from the front the side of the buds would go vertical and flat if you twist them correctly. Then the buds would go deeper into your ears.

    Doesn't worth $400 at all, actually with the war going on and the economy crisis drop, such things no longer a priority to consumers, it will lead this B&O model to dust on the stores shelves for longer time, and on day they will sell it for $50 and still no one will buy it.
