Hi guys. Nice video by the way. For total sound quality: Beoplay EX or Sony XM4 with LDAC manually set to 990Kbps (3x higher than APTX HD). I just got the Senn MTW3 and they are awesome especially when you eq to more of a v shaped eq

    • @TechKnowBiz

even with LDAC or APTX codec the Sony XM4 sounds pretty bad. The EX are just inherently better at sound no matter what you do. The MTW3 are awesome too. Not as accurate as the beoplay EX but very enjoyable. In my humble opinion, the Beoplay EX has the best sound

I do agree somewhat. Beoplay EX has been my daily driver for 2 months now, upgrading from wf-1000xm4.
Music quality is above and beyond. Best TW I've ever heard and so simple and fast to EQ. But the ANC doesn't come close, and for me, it's also a small annoyance that you can't have ANC with only one earphone in use.
The microphone on the EX is also amazing, compared to the wf-1000xm4 - which says something.
Also, the water resistance is crazy. I've been using them in the shower and been caught out in the rain several time without a problem. Though they need drying with the comply tips. For the money, right now, I do think the wf-1000xm4 is better for most people, but with a bigger budget and sound quality as a priority, the EX is the way to go without a doubt

I've been wanting to upgrade from my original momentum TW and had a listen to TW3, Sony's and EX. Yes, I'd give the slightest nudge to EX in terms of quality. Sound volume is more than sufficient for TW originals and well kept quality throughout. I would like to say I'm impressed with the quick evolution of the tech, but a ~10% difference in quality is not worth the full price of a new pair. I cannot justify the upgrade, as much as I want to, apart from "get the latest tech available", so I'll stick to OG. Thanks for the review, it was informative for me!

That's just my experience they sounded great but not soo much better than the bose and they had bad ANC which was a deal breaker.

Hello my friend! I have the MTW3 and I am very happy with the comfort and sound. I am curious about the BeoPlay EX and would love to get a pair to try out, but for 150.00 more than the Sennheisers it is just too much. My hearing is not that great anyways, so I am not even sure if I would really notice the difference. Another great review. I always enjoy your work. Have you had a chance to check out the Sony Liinkbuds S? They seem like they are very comfortable.... I had the XM4 but returned them due to discomfort. I do think the lack of wireless charging on the Linkbuds S, and that they are 200.00 US is too high. They seem like they should be 150.00 US. Okay, have a good one brother.

The EX are great, got them a few weeks ago. The app is really whats makes this buds shine, it really helps define the sound picture and how you want it. It nails the clear accoustics very well, and seperate instruments well enough from its price point. It is as if the Vocalist is in the front of the stage and u can geographically place the guitarist behind him and the drummer behind him again.
The comfort for me is what ended me get this over the EQ. Much better weight balance, and with the Comply tips its seals off very well..
As of NC its not great, if u come from airpods pro or Sony. The NC is really good at clearing out voices or lower it enough for u to not get disturbed. It also does traffic and wind noises very well. Its weakest point may be voices when u listen to low volume.
But compared to airpods and sony, these NC’s doesnt sound like its a vaccum sucking your ear, if that makes sense. Its just there with a slight noise to let u know its on.. compared to the competition where the air is kinda sucked inn

    • @TechKnowBiz
      @TechKnowBiz  Před 2 lety +4

if you have hearing problem then I am not sure if you would notice the difference. I use the EX personally because I need to notice the subtle differences on the high and low ends as I use them for editing. Also accuracy is very important for me and EX are noticeably better than the MTW3 or any other earbuds out there. But just for you, i think, since you are already own the MTW3 and it is working for you well, then don't change mate. Its way better than the Sony earbuds, be it the XM4 or the Link bud S. The XM4 is utterly bad in sound quality. So I guess stick with MTW3 for now and save some money.

I have had the beoplay ex for a while. Sound is great, fit is good. Best bass I've heard with IEMs but you have to push it up a bit with the EQ if you're into EDM. I bought them mostly for the design as I had a pair I was pretty happy with before (Anker soundcore liberty 3 pro - which also is a great buy btw). Compared considering the price, beoplay around 370€ vs Anker soundcore under 100€, the beoplays are not worth. If you don't care about the price however obviously the beoplays are better. The only below average thing with the beoplays is the underpowered noice cancelling. Can't compare with Anker whatsoever.

Watching this and literally cant believe what he say, I do have b&o, b&w and m3 laying in front of me, the clarity on b&w is the best because of the BA driver it have, both b&o and sennheiser don't even come close to this. Problem with b&w is that they don't have eq and if you do have iPhone... well... it suck because on b&o and m3 you can add tons of bass while on b&q all thought the bass is deeper it lack the bass, because it have no eq on iPhone to fix that, for my preferences and music i do listen to (15" monster subwoofer at home and in car, paired with studio monitors measured and dps corrected, top notch sound im comparing to). None of the 3 -> m3, b&o, b&w are actually good for my ear, you can somehow live with them but judging by the sound quality you should not buy any of those. Perhaps ill made my own video on that topic because the information in the net seems to be strongly biased, so perhaps somebody will be happy to get another biased opinion and have the same listening preferences as me.
You probably should already understand, that its not the windows in my home rattles not the doors but the windows and doors of neighbors houses rattles when i do listen to the music (joking!!! since i listen music quite quiet, but the bass is still at insane lvl). Music not only must to have superior clarity, reveling detail but also soul crushing bass, give me a thumb up if you know what im talking about ;)
For me personally all though they are far from perfect b&w are the best (have in mind the distance you can go around having your phone plugged in is short, very short, the call quality is a joke and a lack of iPhone eq kills them, but if you do have android... well you can make them sound like 15" 1000£ sub is playing staring into your face, yes yes yes, and then the clarity is still there! because they don't have 1 speaker but 2! When you was looking at m3 and that BS about phase, keep in mind that the most expensive IEM (3000+£) have more than 6 speakers and the different frequencies have different phase to each other ;) As much i would like to love sennheiser m3... they do suck, oh yes they do if comes to sound clarity ect, ect. but i must say they are actually the best if you take into account connectivity, amount of the bass the app let you add and call quality.
b&o are somewhere in the middle, they got it and they don't. They do have the eq in iPhone but the eq is darn basic it let me control it somehow, it looks slick and fluent but its not up to my demand, i kind of understand why but would expect for all those brands far more professional approach to dps/eq since this makes huge difference!!! Personal preferences and the variety of the music/mods you willing to fall for can be altered when you do have eq, you can adjust sound like a pro for you likings. Just Imagine buying 7000£ headphones that are not capable of changing that one bit is wrong with them for yours preference because they don't have professional eq... Sucks big time does it?!
OH SHIT !! I forgot to say that the loudest TWS according to him is the peak volume at the full spectrum, and that does not mean shit especially when measuring it in open environment on cheap spl meter. Just a bit of eq and m3 is the loudest one. You can give me thumb down for reading all this shit, all thought if you value sound quality i hope you had a good reading!
PS. b&w sounds muddy ??? as this is the tws that have the most clarity and best separation because of the dual driver setup??? hmm yes right! When you talking for the accuracy i hope you do have a calibrated microphone connected to the tws in a closed chamber imitating human ear. I strongly believe you are! all though i haven't seen this on that video though, but those measurements graphs would be nice to see, you know like i do on my setup where i do compare the source to the microphone reading? Just joking lets compare the accuracy based on my ears alone xD
You guys still reading? its f...g wall of words that is...

@@Bluelovebird69 i have both the MTW3 and the XM4 and i can say that the MTW3 is louder and has a punchier and strongerbass too. The XM4 has a cleaner bass but not too punchy, the XM4 2 flaws that is major for me is the call quality is bad due to only having 2mics on each side comparing to MTW3 which have 3mics on each side and the second flaws is that when u're listening to music and u increase your volume above 60% the sound becomes flat and u lose your bass. I thought mine was faulty so i went to Sony to have it checked and they told me this is part of a safety fratures to protect your hearing. So in real world use case u can only enjoy good music max at 60% volume.. if u doubt me u can give it a try, play some bassy music and listen carefully when u crank up the volume. Btw XM4 has the best ANC hands down.. 👍
