Wow, with all this writing and botanical illustrations it looks really authentic. I mean, I know it's real journal, but it looks so vintage :)
Thank you so much. I'm trying to learn how to paint butterflies these days so I can track the ones I see in my garden. I would love to be able to do proper illustrations.
You definitely should make updated video of this journal when it will be full of your notes and sketches :)
Lovely idea .... lots of blank pages for recipes, hints, etc. keeping them all in one place.
Leanda Miller thank you so much.
Just perfect. I am making my own grimoire now
I'm a lot like you in that I like my journals to have more of a purpose.

I had a new bullet journal gathering dust in my closet and as I have sown some flowers and vegetables for the first time in years, I decided to make a garden journal. While watching some videos for inspiration on how to start, I came across this one. You have just saved my journal from becoming the most boring thing ever. Thanks for the inspiration. I really love your approach. Your grimoire is beautiful already!

What a wonderful way to record your journey around the Wheel! tfs!
dawn sunpath thanks, Dawn!
This is amazing i have started to garden this year and started a blog to keep track. I always wanted to have a written account of what i'm learning about gardening and how it works with the wheel of the year. This is something i will be trying, since i have so many notebooks that are not even being used.
mistyblu I'm so glad you like it. It has made gardening even more fun. Such a holistic activity.

The journal is lovely and that little cicada is so cute! Wonderful video! :D
Oh wow I love that! I also want to have a real purpose for every journal and even though I (unfortunately) don't have a garden I could make a similar journal about my observations in nature. Thanks for the inspiration!
Camilla Schleutker I'm so glad you enjoyed. It's fun to come up with journal ideas unique to your needs. 🤓
Mesmerizing. Greetings from Switzerland. 💚

That's a beautiful journal Tams. I'm in the process of creating a couple of Halloween themed pages in my altered book journal. Following your lead, I'm going to look for a suitable poem to add to one of the pages.
Louise EMB thanks Louise. I'm sure it will be beautiful. Are you still sewing paper? I just watched a junk journal video and there was some amazing paper pockets. I thought of you.

Beautiful journal, it somehow reminds me of a garden journal I saw Jamie Oliver use many years ago, very aged and interesting :) Thank you for sharing your work and thoughts with us :)

I just saw this video and it was lovely and inspiring. I noticed you have not made a video in a while. I know life gets in the way of creativity sometimes but I would love to see a video for tips and tricks to calligraphy. My handwriting is so bad.

Wow great ideas and the work you've done is spectacular. You inspire me. I'd like to do something similar, but it would be a recipe book. Thanks so much for sharing with us! :)
Thank you! You could totally do a seasonal recipe book along these lines. Copying recipes is a great way to practice handwriting.
So true. I'm watching the video on how to use the cereal boxes. Not so sure I understand the sewiing but I'm going to watch it again tomorrow when I'm more awake. LOL! What kind of glue do you use?
Awesome. I use Eileen's Tacky Glue for almost everything these days.
Great journal. Love it very different. New subby here!
Thank you. It’s been fun to add things through the the years.
Absolutely Beautiful Tams! I am so inspired, I love the way you laid it out and The Secret Garden part is genius. Please share you calligraphy tips I would love any help you can offer. :)

gorgeous journal! And wow you use your own handwritting I would love to see more about that because that is something that I never do in my journals! Don't like my handwritting.
Thank you. I recently uploaded a short video sharing the simple trick I use to jazz up my handwriting.
Is that a cicada by the smudge stick? Its beautiful!
Jessica yes. I got it in Avignon years ago. Good eye.
Gorgeous journals , wish I could have one ! What kind of paper you used to make this journal ? And how to bring this cream colour to the paper ? Do you have tutorial video for this ? Thank you
Exquisite vintage journal 👍👏 what kind of paper you used to distress its looking little bit thicker ? Love from india- Tamil nadu 🙏💐
That is a beautiful journal. I just came upon your video. You made a lovely journal. May i ask where you got the marker from? Thank you. ☺
Thank you for watching. I get my markers from craft stores or Amazon. They are pretty common and found at places like Michael’s and Hobby Lobby
Pretty! :) ♡ TFS! :)
+Paper Tams Wow! This is a beautiful Grimoire. I always incorporate little Witchy things very subtly into My Nature Journals & I want to branch out to creating books of shadows & grimoires & it would be lovely to make My own for Myself. I have a complete list of plants with the old pagan names & meanings like "puppy dog tails" & "eye of newt" etc If You'd like a copy let Me know
Rebekah Legion Journals thank you. The list of old pagan names sounds interesting. Is there a copy online?
id also love to see how to use the markers please..
Why don't you do some dried out herbs in there? But it looks wonderfully!!
Did u ever make your handwriting method video? I'm super interested! Found ur video and I'm Enchanted! I love that u made a written journal! I love the others but I dont think I could ever use those...this one is much more "user friendly".
Sinner's Shadow thank you! Yes, I made a handwriting video on October of 2106. I think it’s called Handwriting Tricks for Halloween Treats or something like that. 🤓
I'm like you, I can't see the point to making a journal and not putting it to use. So I keeping the frills and decorations to minimal and focusing on spaces to write
Thanks, Tams. So many ideas! I do have a question: How did you use the distress inks for your paper dyeing?
Lisa Gonzales thanks. For the spray stains I just spray the paper in random spots and let it dry. Some of the paper I sprayed with tea and coffee and dried in my toaster oven.
Paper Tams, you referred to the inks in the video. Do you create a spray from the inks?
Lisa Gonzales I don't make it. I buy it already in the bottle. It's a distressing stain by Tim Holtz.
So happy to find this wonderful video. Very inspiring-- thank you! Also, I'm very interested in that cicada you have- is it a tool of some kind or just a little figurine? Where did you get it? Many thanks again. :)
Firefly thank you. The cicada is a little piece I bought in Arles, France many moons ago. I wish I could give you a better resource.
No worries at all; thank you for the reply. :) It is a lovely little piece, you're very lucky!
Love the journal! Also wanted to ask about the cicada on your desk...is that ivory?. I have one in jade and just love it. And I would love to see how you do your writing with the micro pen...did you do a video on that?
49Nutmeg the cicada is from Avignon, France. It’s not ivory. I believe it’s stone. I did do a video later on about handwriting tricks. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!
I wish I was talented enough to make it I am great at crafts but I can't make a journal 😂😑
Beautifully done. What a legacy. What is the large item sitting next to your smudge bowl...looks a bit like a cricket..and where did u get it?
Lynda Smith that is a cicada. I got it in Arles France many moons ago.
What an AMAZING IDEA. and I wish I had your handwriting. I am always a little scared to start on my journals iut of fear that my handwriting will ruin the nice look of the book. Am I the only one?? 😊
(iut = out)
Masja Stengård you are not alone. Lots of people are afraid of messing up. I just go for it and if I mess up too bad, I just paste something like an envelope over top of it and write on separate piece of paper and tuck into envelope. I have lots of mistakes in my book. You should just go for it. The act of just writing in it is very meditative and beneficial.
does the spell works?
Türce çevirmeli olusun
Awesome! First video I watch from you, I dont know how I ended here but im glad :D
Btw, Love the cicada figure, did you make it?? ^-^
Dogo M thank you. You have a good eye for the cicada. The figure was bought during a trip to Avignon, France. It was in a little gift shop.
O love the BEE! Is it a stamp?
Denise Deiro yes it’s a stamp 🤓
@@PaperTamsMedia , do you mind telling where you got the stamp? Tks.
Denise Deiro the bee stamp was from Michael’s craft store years ago.
@@PaperTamsMedia , thanks!
What bug statue is that?
Beautiful Journal! I also really love the carving of the insect? Where did you get that from?
Katie Ness that is a cicada. I got it in Arles, France many moons ago.
I had a feeling it was, I have cicada earrings :) I feel very drawn to cicadas at the moment
Are you on Facebook?
Andrew Pope yes. As PaperTams
