"i got 57 more god damn rounds in this 12 round magazeen."
-engineer with widow maker
I got that reference. :D
Same
lol ye
Nice reference
i see what you did there
Widowmaker is amazing for tanks. You can literally sit on top of the tank and consistently deal out damage. Just cover your ears.
(laughs in pan tolerance)
why have I never thought of that
Heavy and demo laugh at hard hat for trying
I mean, if you're fighting an unsupported tank in Boot Camp sure, but on most tours the other bots will keep you busy enough that you can't really afford to shoot at tanks with your shotgun, especially since the Mann Up strategy for fighting tanks is quite literally "fire and forget."
@@selectivepontification8766 you can solo a tank with a Widowmaker if you have a good team in Mann Up and that last part is a common occurence
I still think that for the gun slinger, there should be an upgrade that lets you increase the number of minis you can have out at a time, up to say like five. I don't think it would catapult the gunslinger to the highest of tiers but It would be a fun one for more casual rounds
Sometimes you just need a little more less gun.
In my head, it’s still worse than one big sentry
@@Small_child_punter But consider, sentry swarm is a cool idea
Sentry swarm with wrangler
@@hazeltree7738 You could also set up sentries on different spots on the map in case a robot slips through. No more random scout bot suddenly delivering the bomb because no one noticed him.
The Pistol can be a hilarious weapon in MVM, just upgrade it fully on Firing Speed, Ammo and maybe Clip Size depending on the situation.
You get a small machine gun that is loud and super fast.
Of course you deal like small damage from a long distance per second.
The only weakness that I found about this weapon is that it is horrible up close to any bots.
the pocket ar brrt
The only downside of the pistol is the existance of the wrangler. At least in casual you can argue that you need self defence.
you get the glockinator
@@LoraLoibu ar-glock
Looking upward while calling for help shooting a maxed out pistol looks so fucking hilarious in 3rd person lmao
You've missed one tiny point about Pompson - it's ability to drain uber and cloak depends on range. So in order to prevent robo-medics popping uber you must be as close as possible to them. Which is a generally bad idea since 1) you're an engineer and are not built for that type of thing and 2) they are always swarming near giants who will annihilate you in an instant.
And if you shoot them from a safe distance - you won't drain shit. So even in MvM this gun is completely useless.
Not to mention that even against giant Medics, the only use pointed out in the video, they only pop at such low health that they're unlikely to actually do so unless your Pyro is extremely careless and triggers it with afterburn (Giant Medics have 4500 HP and only pop if they drop below 50).
@@selectivepontification8766 i have had giant medics pop at lower
@@selectivepontification8766 Plus the quickfix isn't as quick as it used to be, which also makes it less of an issue.
There’s a middle ground where you can fire at them and actual apply the effect
@@MattNotFat they got 200x the quick fix normal speed tho
On a side note, the health repair penalty doesn't even come into effect half the time because those times you can just shoot the sentry with the RR to heal it anyways, which you probably did shortly before pulling it away at range.
The rescue ranger only heals 60 hp at most, so if your sentry has 864 max hp you're way better off just hitting it with your wrench
@@ceoofcapitalism It was meant more in the line that you can give it one or two more hits worth of healing before pulling it away and smacking it with the Jag in a safe place. The penalty to health repair doesn't matter in the active wave management since you can just heal it in a safe space away from enemy fire. But the increased attack speed of the Jag helping to keep the Sentry topped off in ammo and rockets is a huge benefit compared to Stock Wrench with a downside that can be worked around in MvM
@@PlutoDarknight the stock wrench with the better healing increases uptime and tankiness so you can carry harder if you need to pull off a make or break play. also seriously stop using the ranger's healing, the wrenches scale with building health and those few moments the RR grants is better used pulling back for immediate healing.
@@archangel4868 70-80% of the time, healing is not the reason you punch your sentry with a wrench, it's to restore ammo and rockets, especially after you wrangled a sentry. The RR is not used primarily for healing, you can simply shoot it while retreating until you can pull it back in a safe place and redeploy immediately for maximum sentry uptime. The Jag outclasses the Stock Wrench with a free attack speed upgrade in the majority of cases, especially considering that, unlike the damage boosts of weapons like the Direct Hit or the Scotsman's Skullcutter, you still get access to all four upgrade points of the attack speed stat. In the end though it comes down to preference. If you value the immediate healing more, you can use the Stock Wrench instead and do just as well. I simply perform better with the attack speed of the Jag.
@@PlutoDarknight i guess we use the kit in very different ways then since i find my sentry is often the damage sponge and a solid distraction for the giant black box soldiers when my team apparently forgets what the black box does. i seriously saved countless first points from getting capped. then again i also frequently work with less than stellar medics so uh yea... i need that extra healing.
i heard that sticky spam was good in mvm, so i figured id look a up a tier list to see jow good the quickie launcher (my favorite sticky launcher) was, and found these gems. thank you good sir for the amazing content
Wait how is quickiebomb related to spam? It's worse for spam
@@casiooooooo Eh, increase the clip size, and Quickie is actually pretty good for spam!
@@The_Rising_Dragon no it has a damage penalty on uncharged stickiest so you have to charge each sticky
@@casiooooooo I know, but despite that, it's versatile because you can decide to quickly lay out 6 weak stickies to deal with low tier bots, or charged stickies to snipe out targets!
Scottish resistance is the common choice that almost every demo in mvm Mann up uses
3:33 I think that mini sentry getting destroyed also counts for crits. That is the only reason why I'd ever buy that upgrade.
I use disposable sentries in ghost town to add additional damage against tanks. Since the tanks are so bulky in that one you need all the damage you can get on them
With the 500 credits for that, the clip size and reload credits to make up for the reloads and resistances to not get instakilled, the thing becomes so expensive you can only really use it on some later waves and maybe switch to it in the middle of 666. Still a powerfull trick there
it does, and is GREAT for farming crits in mvm
I like to get it for 2 locations in particular, one in Mannhattan either covering Gate A, in case we miss the bomb carrier or gatecrashers. In Rottenberg, the window just past the gate with the forward Upgrade Station where the main fighting happens that looks straight down at the gate where all the bots funnel through. Of course, in either scenario, if its a Super Scout or a Tank the Mini-Sentry wont do anything but plink at their armor anyway.
I never realized Short Circuit was actually pretty viable. I'd love to use it on those Giant Soldiers that shoot like 30+ Crit Rockets.
As an engineer main who plays mvm every so often, I use stock wrench, wrangler, and vary between the frontier justice, the widowmaker and the rescue ranger. It all depends on the wave.
Lot's of tanks? Go widowmaker and grabs some crit canteens. Easy infinte ammo on a slow, big hulking target.
Is your sentry getting blown up all the time? Go frontier justice to help while you rebuild your sentry. It's also good for tanks as well!
If you want a more passive route, equip the rescue ranger and max out the reload, clip size, and firing speed, along with metal regen and max metal count. It's insane sometimes.
Have to agree on ur points. I play wave 666 as scout mainly but engi is fun as well and on that frontier justice is op
3:27
I destroy my sentry between waves, and then have the crits for spies, stragglers, or some initial extra tank dmg.
Otherwise, I only get the crits, midwave, as an emergency back up for when my sentry goes down, for whatever reason
YES! Finally. I've been searching the comments for someone with the exact same strat as me.
Thank you! Not to dog on Weezy but its like he doesn't realize you can do this and STILL get crits between waves. Plus because its between waves your sentry gets built instantly to level 3 so its a pretty good strategy.
1:28
ALSO, when the wave ends, you can always just swap classes quickly, since it will send you back to spawn.
if you play engi, than you must setup your building after switch... so no.
)otherwise.. .YES(
@@mendyshelios0451 heres the thing. after the wave ends, how often does everybody instantly ready up, instead of heading back to spawn to upgrade? engi's buildings instantly build and upgrade themselves after a wave ends, so theres really no demerit
ALSO Also there's the teleport to spawn canteen
@@edgarvega5859 which has no point of being bought, because as i said before, swapping classes is free :D
@@UncommonAlly ... unless a giant bomb carrier scout gets past your defenses
I remember one time I was playing on a community mvm map, and there was this one guy who was absolutely insistent that he use the gunslinger and have a second mini sentry because he thought that the mini sentry’s firing speed justified using it over a level 3
Needless to say, the vote kick against him was unanimous
and he probably went on to complain that u were tacobot users
You kicked someone on a community mode? Not that he was right, but I mean, it's not like y'all were gonna lose loot or something.
@@LuigiFan04 it was during operation titanium tank, which there was a prize for completing. It’s just a badge with a tank on it, but it’s still something the people participating wanted
Plus, even if there wasn’t any prize, we still wanted to win and that guy definitely wasn’t pulling his weight
0:35 - Gunslinger
1:00 - Stock shotgun & panic attack
1:15 - Eureka effect
1:55 - Pistol
2:20 - Pomson 6000
2:50 - Frontier justice
3:45 - Southern hospitality
4:25 - Wrench
4:55 - Short circuit
5:30 - Widowmaker
6:30 - Rescue ranger
7:25 - Wrangler
8:50 - Jag
Pin?
Not to mention that the healing downside of the Jag is off-set due to the rescue ranger having a higher health repair than the Stock wrench as the rescue ranger has a 4:1 health to metal ratio while the stock wrench is 3:1
Also worth noting, if you increase sentry health, it can actually outlive the sapper.
Another reason why the jag is better, 3 swings or not, your sentry is gonna outlive the sapper
Weezy: talks about the pistol
Barry's music from pokemon diamond and perle: Bonjour!
as someone who's mostly played engineer in their mvm career, i do want to add that destroying your sentry at the end of the wave will help reset the buster, and doing that will give you your stored up crits to use in emergancies, so it has a bit more utility than you give it credit for. but at the same time it's still not the best option, (it used to be one of the best options before 2 cities IMO, but not anymore)
I prefer stock over the Jag once I have enough money to upgrade swing speed. More repair is great. The widowmaker is so fun to use.
After watching these older videos, it's nice to see that Weezy has gotten much better about not uptalking so much.
That way to preset the shotguns in this videos is one of the funniest shots I've ever listened to
"The shotguns have taken four D's at this point"
-WeezyTF2 2021
With Jag you can avoid using build canteens, as upgraded wrench speed makes construction insanely quick.
I play a lot of engineer in MvM, it's one of two mains I play on MvM (other being Sniper).
I use all the S tier weaponry because it works out. I agree with all of the points given above for those weapons. I just need to remember to negate the Wrangler disabling time whenever I switch away from Wrangler.
Back when I was more nooby and didn't have access to the Rescue Ranger, I would use the Frontier Justice and spend on clip size to have more crits to shoot out. The problem was that it would take away from possible upgrades to dispenser range and metal capacity, but I was quite the noob at the time and didn't invest in range as I should have. Each time a wave ended, I would destroy the sentry to receive the crits and build a new one. Understandably that wouldn't work out in the Advanced missions; that's why I transitioned from FJ to RR. (I play mainly on Normal and Intermediate difficulty)
I do have one wave where I'd switch the Wrangler out though. Wave 7 of Decoy Normal mission, with the 150 scouts. That's the one situation where I'd use the pistol. It's crazy with max clip, max ammo and max firing speed.
I used to use the panic attack. Before they changed how it worked. It was surprisingly very effective and it allowed for me to dip in and out of cover
MvM engineer troll loadout: Frontier Justice, wrangler and gunslinger.
My casual loadout 😎
Thanks youtube for recomending this video and channel, you got a new subscriber :D
0:53 is like ordering a large pizza from dominoes and expecting a large pizza
f-zero music. what a gigachad nice video buddy
God i loved the shovel knight opening music, wanna say that was propeller knight
The Widowmaker also makes for great rapid metal Regen capabilities. As long as you have an enemy giant, 2-3 ticks of metal capacity and 30 metal, you can top your metal up really fucking fast, which beats the 60 metal you get from the dispenser
The jag’s difficulty with sappers is more in play in mecha engine, especially broken parts. The spy wave (with a team of randoms), can be brutal for an engi. Your sentry probably won’t outlast the sapper, because your surrounded by spies, and the endless scouts will wear it down quickly when it’s not firing. Otherwise yeah, jag has a decent edge over stock when using the rescue ranger.
i find it funny that the one promotional weapon out of countless is just so fun, and so good to use.
This video is gonna be interesting since I rarely play engy on mvm these days
Hey that's me! I didn't realize I was playing with you one round that's pretty cool
opened my eyes about the jag and widowmaker, nice
The Widow Maker Short Circuit Combo is so much fun since you basically have 2 weapons with infinite ammo if played right.
The jag synergizes with the frontier justice really well, as you can use much smaller windows of time to get a sentry up to level 3.
Banana man has the best figurative and humoristic comparisons
Hand Grenade. ! +1 Great outro ever. ! +1
Nice taste with using the Pac-Man smash bros theme for the 3 most powerful items for Engi.
these are the best engie loadouts in mvm i could think of:
rescue ranger + wrangler + stock/jag (usual engie)
widow/frontier + short circuit + jag (supportive engie)
Another thing to mention about the jag: rescue ranger has a better health to metal heal rate than wrenches. So most efficiently you spam your rescue ranger shots to heal it then whack it for ammo, thus negating the repair rate downside
Hey Weezy, do your personal preferences for classes and weapons play a role in the tier lists? The Soldier being in your class tier list in S-tier and the hard-to-use crap like the anti-airblast and the screw-accuracy being in the s-tier of their weapon tier lists is where I get that question
5:01
Obligatory Grammatical Correction: 'Brethren' is an exclusively plural word, so there is no point in adding an 's' at the end of it
I've always adored the eureka effect for MVM, since I would usually help a pyro tankbust with the Widowmaker and then have a button that effectively just brings me back to the front line
yeah sure it sucks on the metal costs, but I'd argue that it's the only real situation where having metal regeneration is a good call, and being able to teleport back for canteens at will is useful as hell imo
I have a "robots killed" part on my rescue ranger. Seeing it tick up to the next hundred is way more satisfying than it should be.
Here’s a questions, does the widow maker damage increase boost when two of your sentries are shooting at it vs one?
It’s an either or situation not stacking. 10 percent if sentries targeting not 10 Percent when A sentry is targeting
No idea if I just didn't pick this up before or if it's a new thing, but that gameboy style pokemon battle music had me thinking I was hallucinating for a minute lol
I've been having a fucking blast playing gunslinger engie with the frontier justice and the disposable sentry, it's a lot less stressful when I can just keep throwing two minisentries around, and I can focus more of my attention on keeping the dispenser up front and healed to support the rest of my team!
i find widowmaker and short circuit to be a great combo on giant soldiers, you can sneak in widow shots between your short circuit blasts and infinitely block all their rockets if you time it right
1:00 ok that's actually really funny
Honestly, the frontier justice pairs well with the disposable sentry, because while the disposable sentry gets some kills, once it runs out of ammo it dies, and yet you still get crits.
As a new engineer this is going to help me so much in the Long run for mvm thanks
0:35
Gunslinger doesn't deserve the F Tier, 2 Mini Sentries will be a crit farm and the Mini Sentry is very portable. I hope you understand.
Pros:
Low Cost for Sentry
Good for Crit farm combined with disposable sentry gun.
Additional HP
Con:
Low Survivability
Your shotgun joke killed me lmao
400+ tours in gear grinders, two missions with a giant med wave, and it hadn't crossed my mind that the pomson can negate giant meds from popping. You learn something every day, yeesh. Gotta give it a try at some point.
I think I heard that Pomson's draining ability is only good at close range, which is not where u wanna be as engie
It took me way to long to realise the building upgrade canteen upgrades all buildings at once
For the Frontier Justice, it’s something minor but destroying the sentry in between rounds is a good way to stock up on those crits with no downsides
My go to is wrangler, rescue ranger and eureka effect
I hope he finishes this series. I want to get his thoughts on my MvM main, Medic, and the class I've recently fallen in love with, Sniper.
7:05
Me playing with a Lv3 Sentry with 170 kills:
Administrator: 'Heads up, Engineers, we got a Sentry Buster!'
Me: *Rescue Rangers the Sentry then places it back down*
Administrator: 'Heads up, Engineers, we got a Sentry Buster!'
i’m an engie main trying to get into mvm so thanks
Gunslinger can be better than F if you have frontier justice and the extra sentry upgrade. You basically permanently have crits, but on its own, you're right... it's not great
earned a sub for the fact you dont fear saying the bad dirty words
shovel knight music, nice
pretty sure the frontier justice also gets crits from the extra mini sentry you can buy as an upgrade, so that one can usually get you at least a handful of them before it dies.
Wait. About the frontier justice, does the little sentry Upgrade count? That might be cool if it does.
Dillon's rolling western music
you get a sub
I havent seen anyone say that with the frontier justice, you can destroy your sentry between waves to get that crit boost and have your sentry up and going
God I love your content. How you would know is that I don’t even play TF2, let alone MVM…so I can’t information at all.
I'm a bit out of the loop since it's been so long since I played tf2. Longer since I played mvm. Longer still since I played engie. Didn't they introduce a nerf that when wrangling a sentry, healing is also reduced? Is that taken into consideration here or has that already changed
Heres something I legit want to know with the engie's upgrade cantee cause I just don't know this. For it to upgrade your buildings instently do you use it when the buildings are placed or before it?
when the buildings are placed it will work, if you have not put them down then use the canteen they will not upgrade automatically after being placed
i need someone to help me, i remember hearing somewhere about a glitch that let you save your tickets after an mvm mission and still get loot, but i cant find it anywhere and i think it was on a WeezyTF2 video, help :(
One thing about justice frontier , kills of disposibal minisentry counts for crits, so i think you should put to A rank.It is very usefull when you need a litle more firepower or emergency.
that shotgun joke was perfect
0:58 You asking GUNSLINGER engies to not troll.
Most of them are vile, sinister, toxic human beings who specifically chose to play Gunslinger Engy to ruin the fun for Scouts Pyros Trolldiers Demoknights Boxing Heavies Huntsman and other goofy classes.
So yeah they WILL troll you and laugh taunt at you for suggesting you switch melee
Tbh trolldier is even worse than gunslinger engies
Lmao thats the point, to make somewhat potential threat to the team invalid. Play on high tower if you want to be one of those but being a battle engi is just way too good and powerful
When I playing normal mode
Im Play Trolldier, Demoknight but no damage bonus, Gunslinger engineer, Battle crossbow Medic, Fat Scout, SMG Sniper's/Huntsman, Gun Spy, Loch N Load with shield, Flare Pyro And Pistol Scout!
Also I play Battle Engineer in easiest Intermediate Like Mannhattan or Rottenbug.
The only thing that I wish Valve had done was add ammo capacity upgrades for the sentry. I love the wrangler, but having to constantly stop and slap my sentry a few times is disappointing.
That lower repair rate for the Jag only ever becomes and issue when a sentry is being bombarded with heavy bursts of damage. In MVM that issue is taken care of with increased sentry health and increased swing speed. Not to mention the Rescue ranger.
You forgot about the best thing engi has…. The construction pda
Ik the tier list is for two cities, but frontier justice engie is really fun on 666. Lots of credits at the start means you can immediately upgrade your primary, and you don’t really need or want sentry hp for the first group of robots. It does kinda fall off later on especially if you don’t bring an Uber canteen, but it is pretty funny unloading 70 crits into giants (35 stored on you, and 35 more on your sentry when you destroy it or when it dies).
It’s not optimal but it’s Boot Camp so who cares, if it’s fun it’s fun
I like to use the jag since i can rebuild my stuff/upgrade quickly without using canteens. Saves me a few bucks to spend on something else.
the Gun slinger is acually strong when u pair it with another, you be surprise to see how good the 2 mini can do as they can take aggro and be rebuild much faster than regular sentry, pair of engi with mini can go with both frontier justice + widow maker is powerful since it get rid of the need of the rescue ranger and favor to go in to do damage with the team especially with tanks, with good aim as a widow maker u never need to go to ur dispenser so you can put it where it is safe for low health teammate like medic need to survive after burn. Further more sentry buster will always target level 3 sentry first, if there is none it will go to the nearest (non disposable sentry) and explode this will give u chance to use the sentry buster anywhere u wantsince u can just rebuild a new one. with this build u can favor for more defendsive upgrade instead of maxing out sentry health which help alot since u can go in grab money for the scout if there is ever a chance he somehow doesnt get it.
A. You could just have both players use level 3 sentries, which has much more dps and sustainability. For reference, a level 3 sentry has over TWO AND A HALF TIMES (2.5x) the dps of a mini sentry, and that's not even including rockets.
B. The wrangler gives you an insane amount of sustainability as well as doubling your sentry's dps, which gives a lot more damage than the widowmaker. Yeah, you could upgrade the widowmaker to make it better, or you could save yourself a couple thousand credits on more useful upgrades
C. If your sentry gets destroyed by sentry buster, you're doing something wrong. You just have to pick up your sentry and run away as soon as the sentry buster initiates its exploding animation.
D. Scouts have increased money collection range and gain overheal when picking up money, there's no reason that they won't be collecting all the money. Even if you don't have a scout, the engineer has low hp and no mobility increasing options. On top of this death is even more impactful for him since it almost guarantees that your buildings will get destroyed. Basically any other class is better at collecting money
does the swing speed stack with the jag tho?
Gunslinger's good for when your team's not doing great and you're either losing your sentry way too quickly or have to keep moving to fight the bomb/tank.
(Obviously it doesn't work well with Rescue Ranger but I hate that gun anyway)
The Widowmaker also helps you get metal, so it might pair well with the Short Circuit.
The fact that the jag is only a SLIGHT increase over stock and the fact it’s so close is the reason I feel fine using stock. I value my customized stock wrench over the 15% faster swing speed lmao. I’d rather just upgrade swing speed at that point
as a fan of The Frontier Justice, I think B tier suits it well. It's a fun weapon to use both in PvP and PvE gamemodes. Its credit investment is a bit annoying, but that not a big deal. What IS a big deal, however, is the fact the disposable sentry still gives revenge crits. This allows for a steady stream of crits while still having your sentry up. Sure, I don't play mann up because I need money, but damn is this weapons fun to use.
What is the background music in the intro
Widowmaker with SC seems like a good combo cause the Widowmaker gives you a chance to regen ammo
I usually pair stock with widowmaker and jag with rescue ranger. With widowmaker you do need to repair more because 1 you are not shooting it with bolts and 2 you are not using the wrangler.
Also the two teleporter upgrade actually breaks the eurekas effects teleporting ability to
Yeah, it does mess it up. You end up on the Exit Teleporter & if you have the 2-way upgrade, it'll *immediately* teleport you back to your Entrance Teleporter (which is usually at spawn).
You might as well just use the Eureka Effect to teleport straight back to spawn.
-I equip the Frontier Justice, with hopes of using a lot of crits by the end of rounds by blowing up my own sentry.
-Get enough money to spend on clip size and speed on everything.
-Get completely destroyed, both sentry and my crit count before i even get to use them.
When i pull it off it feels great tho, having 30+ crit shots and releasing 'em faster than the stranger with a big iron on his hip.
Do a spy one next!
I’m not an MvM player but I am an engie main, the wranglers disable after use “downside” is sorta like the beggar’s bazooka’s “downside” of rocket overloading, being that it’s actually an upside that gives the class more options. Although it is nice that in MvM you can choose between your sentry doing damage immediately or more effectively tanking damage.
Does frontier justice activate crits when a disposable sentry is destroyed or is it only the main sentry?
Main and disposable,I think both of them will activate crits.
(I’ve never play MVM or TF2 in general - ask professionals)
Glad I'm not alone in thinking the Jag is better for MVM!
The only thing that I argue with is the gunslinger, and it may be a meme weapon but can be overpowered with the wrangler
now i know the best combo: Rescue Ranger, Wrangler & The Jag. (And maybe a short circuit if i'm feeling it)
There is also a bug with the eureka effect where teleporting to your exit tele teleports you back to your entry if you have the 2-way teleporters. 😢
