  • I have the drop for all my friends around the 2022 Hisense TVs in Australia.
    It's really cool to see Hisense give OLED another crack and in my option, it could possibly be QD-OLED which would be super exciting!

    Anyone have the 40” A4HAU? It has a bit of judder/low fps, and isn’t as smooth as my other tv. There doesn’t appear to be a ‘Motion Smoothing’ option either. Anyone with the same issue?

      x95 has the same processor as the previous years model. No HDR10+, NO HDR10+ adaptive, no Dolby Vision IQ, not even Bluetooth 5. Sony's premium TV's are garbage frankly. And I haven't out of 3 Samsung TV's been happy with any of them :(. Hence looking at Hisense or TCL as why pay for a premium TV when there has been in my experience no such thing available. How about a TV that supports wifi 6e, gigabit minimum or 2.5 gbit, actual memory to have more than the OS and 2 apps running before lagging, 64GB of storage. It seems we have these big panels and some electronics but then they cheap out on about $60AUD of parts to get modern bluetooth, modern ethernet a bit more storage.

    Don't know about the OLED range but don't be fooled into buying the mini-led '4K 120Hz' U8HAU model. It does NOT have HDMI 2.1 ports. The marketing BS is for the U.S. version, the U8H. The AU variant is crap. It only has HDMI 2.0 ports but regs/laws regarding the matter allow all HDMI ports to be referred to as HDMI 2.1
    The marketing practice is to claim the ALLM and VRR and Game mode allow for 4K, 120Hz upscaling BUT the difference between the HDMI 2.0 and 2.1 versions is the bandwidth, 2.0 is rated at 18Gbps and the 2.1 at 48Gbps.... 4x the 2.0....
    It is physically IMPOSSIBLE for 2.0 to provide 4K resolution AND 120Hz refresh rate.
    All the clever* software does is juggle the TV's processing of the source input to 'produce' a display that is as close as possible to EITHER of the two aspects.
    This means that it might handle close to 120Hz and 4K, the moment the source input is not optimal (say during under certain circumstances of high end gaming) it compensates by comprising on one or more performance aspects.
    *The processor and screen are both sub standard to the 'normal' U8H and it suffers significantly from both.
    So, in short, DON'T buy a TV that uses words like COMPLIANT when describing it's performance/specs. The HDMI ports are 2.1 compliant but they are NOT actual 2.1 ports and you are NOT getting true 4K resolution AT 120Hz.
    There's several other issues I'm dissatisfied with but you can find those easily enough online. Ie: blooming, leaking, etc etc

      I found the info of searching long and hard for information that wasn't contained in the vast majority of sources for this TV, which are nothing more than paid endorsements. Smart marketing strategy, flood the media platforms with 'information' for your product by creating a sea of 'independant' reviewers who received kick backs for selling your product...
      I wasn't conducting a proper review or anything so I neglected to list my sources as I found them and present include them in my comment, sorry, I was merely searching for answers for myself as I fell for the marketing BS myself and bought one, and subsequently wanted to find answers to why my TV was rubbish compared with quality of images displayed on the TV in the store. (The images are preloaded on the TV by the manufacturer and require the tv settings to be changed from 'home' to 'store' ANY review where you see them showing the TV with these unbelievable images -or very slow moving clips- then you know it's a sham, these pre installed images are designed into the TVs programming so the TV knows exactly how to PERFECTLY display them, it simply is unable to match the quality in real world circumstances.)
      I've given you all the points you need to search for the info you need to verify my opinion for yourself, sorry I didn't provide links to sources to qualify my opinion but my searching was only meant for me at the time and I only responded to your comments out of chance and impulse later on.

      @ILT_AU  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey @Bruiserfox thanks for the comment.
      From what I understand all the models will include the AU at the end implying Australian model TVs. Hisense might begin rolling out these models worldwide rather than having completely different models for each country. So each country will get minor differences such as TV tuners, operating systems etc.
      No idea about what kind of panels they will be using but I’ll find out once I get hands on.
      I would dare say this year they will be bringing some major improvements. Last year was a massive flop.
      Super excited to put their flagship OLED next to my C1 and pick it apart. It will also be interesting to see how good LGs processors are against Hisense.

      @@ILT_AU Yes in AU. I realise I am getting an entry level/mid level TV, but they all look OK. I just don't want to get a dud.

      Are you in a rush?
      Can you wait for Hisense 2022 range to come out?
      They might do something competitive on the high end LED LCD TVs.

    Great content m8, subbed.
    I’ve always been a Samsung fanboy, but my budget these days is rather limited. I’m pretty good at haggling, but only having limited experience within this market segment, is there a percentage you can throw at me, in how much I could reasonably expect the retailer to drop the price?

    • @ILT_AU
      @ILT_AU  Před rokem +1

      IMO. The higher the price tag. The higher the amount they can discount.
      I’ve had over 2k taken off a price for items around 10k.
      Plus. Purchase gift cards when they are on 10-15% off.
      Which stacks your savings again. Happy to elaborate.

      I ended up purchasing the 65U7HAU after spending many hours researching all the variables, a real brain drain, but for the price range, it looked amazing in store. I coughed up $1250, which I think is an ok deal. Now to get her home and see whether I’ve made the right choice, not that it matters, the deals done, wish me luck 😎

      @@ILT_AU did Samsung Display make enough panels for that? As I understand it, folks are concerned stock may run out for the S95B, not to mention what they've already sold to Sony for their own QD-OLED. This would be a great development.
