- This homemade Hummus recipe is ultra creamy and has the perfect balance of garlic, lemon juice, and tahini. We love this as an appetizer or dip paired with warm Pita Bread or crunchy veggies.

HUMMUS INGREDIENTS:
►5 -6 Tbsp lemon juice, or to taste (from 2 lemons)
►2 large garlic cloves, minced or grated
►1 1/2 tsp fine sea salt, or to taste
►3 cups cooked chickpeas (or two 15 oz cans), reserve 2 Tbsp for garnish
►6-8 Tbsp ice water (or to desired consistency)
►2/3 cup tahini
►1/2 tsp ground cumin
►1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, plus more to drizzle
►1 Tbsp Parsley, finely chopped, to serve

I am arab and this is the first time i have seen a westerner make hummus correctly. Garlic and cumin are optional. And we don’t use canned but i guess to save time its fine. Really impressed with the boiling the chick peas, using ice water.. well done.. this is why i like your channel. This is the absolute best Hummus tutorial! It’s the classic, traditional hummus with tahine recipe.
As for removing the chickpeas skins, I saw a profissional, Lebanese cook stirring vigorously the chickpeas during the cooking process, with a slanted spoon. Most of the skins get loose and float to the surface. Very easy to skim.

I love your recipe. I make hummus for our church for the Sabbath lunch along with some fresh veggies and basmati rice. We love it and I never have any leftovers to take home. It also makes a wonderful salad dressing. I’m addicted to hummus too.

I love Hummus. The 1 thing I really love about it is, you can add anything to it from, roasted peepers, Habanero Peppers for a kick of spice or even cheese.

BTW, I always cook my beans in a pressure cooker. I have never ever bought canned beans. It's a cultural thing. 😁

Ingredients
500 g mince beef
3 tablespoon parsley chopped
2 tablespoon mint chopped
1 small onion chopped
1-2 green chilies sliced
4 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon sumac
1 ½ teaspoon cumin powder
1 ½ teaspoon coriander powder
½ teaspoon nutmeg powder
½ teaspoon clove powder
½ teaspoon cinnamon powder
½ teaspoon garam masala
1 slice sandwich bread
1 egg whisked
Instructions
Break the slice of bread in a small bowl and add 2-3 tablespoon milk to it. Crush with a fork.
Then add all the ingredients to the mince beef along with the bread.
Grind everything in a food processor or chopper to combine well.
Moisten your hands with water and make flat, oblong kebabs.
On a grill pan or outdoor grill, cook these for around 8-10 mins in total. Flip sides in between.
Remove on a plate and serve with garlic sauce or yogurt dressing.

Good tip on soaking the garlic in the lemon juice, it "cooks" it a bit and knocks off the raw garlic taste. I'll be making this later today or tomorrow. Pretty much how I always make it but I'm trying your tip to get the peels off this time, no cans! 😂

@@Natashaskitchen I did today(yesterday now), came out perfect! Like I said this is pretty much the way I always make hummus minus the pressure cooker, I'm not sure that really saved me much work but it all worked out in the end. Perfect hummus! I keep looking for reasons to like this fancy pressure cooker but as a long time cook (with lots of time) I still don't see the excitement over them. I'll be cooking my beans the old fashioned way going forward. Love ya as always, thanks for the inspiration!
