I watched you last tortilla video over and over and over and I didn’t give up. I’m 35 years old and wanted to impress my family with tortillas. I tried a total of 7 times and I finally got it right. I love my tortillas and so does my family. Thank you sisters for sharing these tips!
@@gingerfredg 2.5 cups of All purpose flour 1/2 cup of Lard or butter 1.5 teaspoons of sea salt 1 cup of warm water It’s at the beginning of the video Hers is the best by far First time I made her tortillas it was a 10 from my family
Thank you Stephanie and Cloud for all the recipes and those tortillas look so delicious, takes me back many years when my mom use to make them, she was so kind and would let us have one with butter and send out to play, than she would finish dinner and called us back so we could eat dinner, sweet and sad memories because mom and dad are not here anymore,l have faith that i will see them again in heaven. God is good and he is love. thank you ladies.
My mom that is 92 years old and myself 67 loves you girls. My name is LaVerne and my mother's name is Janice. I would love to have an apron like yours is there anywhere I can get one. Are you girls going to make a cookbook? We watch you every day and we think you both are the greatest and we love your kids. 😊
Have you created a cook book from your recipes yet? I just love watching your videos, but having the book would be great when I try to cook them myself. Even an ethnically Irish-American 55 year old guy loves your cooking lessons.
That would be great! I would probably buy it. I'm not much of a cookbook person but I'm trying to make one myself and their recipes are a lot like my partners family's food. I love going on this channel to find ways to incorporate more Mexican food in our life. He's Mexican American and my family has always had a huge Mexican influence in our cooking.
I've been thinking and hope she will consider publishing a cookbook. I hope she does because I'd have to have one and would be happy to help show support in that way. She's my favorite CZcams cook and I trust her cooking; I'd trust her cooking with my life 😂
Me again! South Georgia boy! I don’t think I have ever had a freshly made tortilla! I bet those are awesome! My sis in law is from New Mexico. She makes a triangle shaped bread that puffs up when you fry it and gets hollow. She makes these when she makes her awesome fréjoles. I like to break open the bread and stuff it with the beans! Yum! She calls the name of the bread but I can’t remember! I love her cooking though! Keep it up! I love watching your channel!
I love your apron! I’ve also made tortillas from one of your previous recipes! Your recipe is my go to recipe and yes they are pliable. They are so good with guisado, rice, and beans! My abuela made them but I never got her actual recipe. She made hers thin too! 👍🏼You’ve helped me make her recipe ❤️ Thank you 🌮
thank you I will try i have been try to make them so I still have to wait till I move but I will keep on see your video's....thank you...I love to see your cooking ...
You are so nice. Prayers for your family. Everyone needs a blessing once in awhile. Thank you for teaching us. I probably missed. What kind of flour. I have never made before

@Views on the road Hello and good morning to you my friend 😊🙏 You are talented with what are you doing😍👍💥 Never give up my friend, you are doing great things 💯🙌 God bless you and stay positive and stay healthy ✌
I was struggling to make tortillas and they came out dry and looking like a map lmao , I saw ur video and it helped me alot!! I just made some and they came out so good!! Thank you so much!
Mis respetos !! Bien joven y rebién q te salen las tortillas arriba sonora ! Yo soy de Guanajuato. Gracias por compartir tu receta. Hasta la cantada te sale bien
Made these tortillas today 💣🤯🔥 My wife said they are better than the ones we always get from Tijuana and I would agree. Thank you for sharing your recipes 🙏🏽
First timer coming back to report my tortilla making adventure!! I've been following Steph's recipes some time now, and she always makes her recipes fun, easy and straight forward. I was pretty nervous that they were going to come out thick, tough and like a "map" 🤣 When I rolled the dough balls mine were not as smooth in appearance, they kind of had lines/folds and I didn't get any bubbles 🙁 But for being my first time, I think they came out great! I was able to fold and crumple them without any cracks or tears 🥳 Curious to know how to organize or lay out the rolled tortillas before they go on the comal? I stacked them up with wax paper in between. Cannot wait until I am able to make tortillas with confidence!! 🤠 This recipe is LEGIT and she was right about the ego boost 😎🤣
Pure wisdom at the end of tortilla recipe. Cling to healthy, nourishing comfort food where you take the time to be invested. One of the best ways to conquer stress and put your mind and soul on track.👍💯🍻
Your video is awesome and the recipe is spot on to what I remember my grandmother and mom using. I will soon try your skillful method … AND my plan is to recreate a special desert recipe my grandmother made with sweetened refried beans (sugar and cinnamon added) into flour hand made tortillas, then deep fried after being shaped into an empanada semicircle. Incredibly delicious. Thank you again for your well performed video.
I want to tell you I thank you for all the information that you are giving me I'm going to try to make them and everything's really hard for me so I'm going to try it thank you for putting the recipe for all of us to see I really appreciate you and I hope you have a great day
Hi Steph and cloud I been watching you guys for years now and my meals have been inspired by your recipes. That being said I love your metate I am half Colombian and Guatemalan and my mom ( Colombian ) taught me how to Make arepas from scratch using a meat Grinder and for years I been wondering how to make tortillas from scratch. My dad didn’t know , I want one so bad now but looking them up they are 150 min, 😩 my question is where can I get one at a decent price. Thank you in advance
I tried my hand at home made tortillas, just from a conversation I overheard, I've done something wrong, so here I am! Back to your channel! I tell myself, Every dang time! Just don't the right way the first time! 🤣Than we won't have these problems
Thank you. I need allllll recipes, back to basics. My corn tortillas still an epic fail, not sure what im doing wrong. From ingredients to heat, to pan or comal your using. Not sure whats happening. Can you do all things corn masa, tortillas, sopes, popusas, tamales🤔🙂will try making flour😁 25:48
When you video the first tortilla recipe you use kosher salt, 2nd video shows Morton salt. Which is your choice currently. I also have been eyeing your beautiful apron. I have my Abuelita's but she was a tiny woman and it doesn't fit. Jejeje anyway are those available to order. I hate the aprons that hang off your neck, with the neck problem I have I can't . Your awesome, we love you both.
We like the bubble lol because we open it up and take off that little pocket, and fill it with our refried beans, Belizean tomato and egg, bacon like a little boat. We like to do that with our fry jack too!
Excellent demonstration, I have a summer home in Panama. Panama does not have Chilis I have to bring Chilis from Texas to Panamá . Can you tell me the basic Chilis that will pretty much go with a lot of Mexican dishes
I remember in the early 50s watching my mother making tortillas very early in the morning. After years of practice, her rolling yielded perfectly, and I do mean perfectly, round tortillas. My older sisters, OTOH, rolled out tortillas that looked like aberrations of Rorschachs.
I made the one with the eggs and flour and the milk poblano's I don't know what you call it it took me a whole hour to get this done LOL it turned out so delicious thank you for the recipe it is so good
The Sonoran tortillas are the best in the world. Every year when i make the trip From michigan to Cananea i bring back 20 or 30 packs and i frizz them so i can have tortillas for a wile. Mmmm
