Great vid fellas.....I own a Dragonhammer with a OBR 32 full mod fitted....glad you tried the mad max tyres....I think they make a slight improvement on the stock tyre....yes the DH is one tough truck....and out the box is excellent value for money compared to other top end 1/5th scales.......keep up the good work fellas.....and all the best for the new year...
LMAO at the end clip in your intro it made me jump. DH is looking fantastic just a tad lean on the high, the DH really does Stand out from the crowd even in its stock box form which is a rare thing today. I would imagine the solid rear axle has a big part to play on why she likes to roll over but from what people have said the Vekta has it under control fairly well, great video.
ha! thanks mate. yeah a little lean. the vek5 looks a lot wider.... not sure if it is or not. i'd like to see a vekta up close in person, or even better try 1.maybe next year... happy new year mate
I think the main reason it rolls so much is a combination of a higher center of gravity and the solid rear axle. I think if it has an independent rear suspension even with the high center of gravity it would be less likely to roll over
yes ,you may well be correct. The V2 dragon ( this is a v1) now comes with wider axle extenders, they seem to work really well at keeping the car more stable.
great vid,be interesting to see if the v2's still have the grip roll problem, personally think its a design flaw of the truck everything sits so high up on the chassis, they also nose dive on jumps from the vids I've seen.Honestly if I'm putting well over a grand into a rc car I'd expect it to work quite well out of the box and not have too keep flipping it over back on to it wheels every few minutes....keep the vids coming....there the best RC vids on CZcams :)
thanks mate. yeah... the cog seems high. we will get out and run the 1/5 scales together to try to compare in some way... tho they will be on different tyres with different engines. guessing my 5ive will not roll like the hammer but i could b wrong. the V2 has a host of mods including a wider track so it may well suffer this issue less. cheers
Looks like alot of that roll is coming from the front end diving in the corners. Why not add a little more preload up front and/or thicker shock oil or change the piston to a harder pack. otherwise great cars, great video. Happy New Year Guys!
thanks mate. happy new year to u. we did up the front preload in the end and it did seem to help. you are right about the front end diving. good shout ;)
mad max/hostile tyres will increase the grip roll they do on the losi 5ive T have you considered using baja rears as they will be lower profile and slightly wider hence more stable, we were out bashing today in west london (gurnell skate park) and we had a chap turn up with a kracken vektra.5, really well made bit of kit and seemed very stable.
to solve your header heat head over to the auto parts store and pick up some dei exhaust wrap lace it into place and body melt will decrease but remember to always drive it like you stole it. That wrap will solve body melt.
i just bought the v2 and still roles...FID need to make axle extenders for it because the wheel fitment is different to the v1.....but apart from that a epic off roader and in my eyes a better off roader than the vecta
thanks for that info mate. i have a v1 myself now. not run it yet, possibly this weekend. i am going to try to tune the rolls out a bit if i can. i am in the process of hand cutting the v1 tyres to soften the edge for less edge grip. i'm hoping it makes a small difference.... :)
Do you think that the springs are to stiff and that's what makes it easy to roll over? Also do you think that the version 2 will roll over just as easily as the version 1? Thanks
hi mate. the run i just did with stephens v1 ...vid to come( the truck in this vid) had the v2 tyres on. and i had the preload at zero to get the shock action as soft as possible to see if that helped with the rolling. it might have...i did roll it a couple of times which i will show in the video. i also crashed it going nose down fairly hard a few times. i do wonder if a thicker shock oil or softer spring could help.... only time with the truck will tell.. version 2 has some mods which should lessen the issue. it has a wider track for 1, and is a generally improved truck.
BIGGBULLxxx hi mate. I really like the tuned pipe. Though Stephen the owner sometimes thinks it's a bit too loud. Sorry we didn't speed test it on the stock pipe. We are planning to soon with this tuned pipe though. Cheers.
Hi mate, we only tried the stock tyres and diggers on this dragon....and only the diggers once, so we could not take much from it. it was quite muddy when the diggers were used and they did a great job forward traction wise but maybe had a bit too much side grip for it.looked great on though. cheers
That 240fps was nice and slow... Shame it's only in 720 though. Can you do like 160fps at 1080? Wouldn't mind seeing the different ones, you should do a few test shots and do a nice compare video! I ended up with a Hero 3 Black+ that we talked about on a previous video, it produces some nicely acceptable footage. 240fps is tempting though lol.
120 fps.... which is dam good actually. i'll try that setting as i think it's suit me a lot more 1080 and wide field of view. 240fps can only do narrow field.....
RC Maxx UK shame there isn't a happy-medium of about half way between the narrow field and wide field, at about 160fps 1080p, that would be ideal! I imagine 120fps is still good though, my DSLR at 50fps 1080p is good, although would be better if it was smoother.
Hi mate. They are hard to find used, so going new here... they are sold in the UK through rcmodelz. the roller is £1000, u got to allow £4-500 for the engine ,servos and trans /recei and kill switch i guess.... the 1 in the vid is a V1, the V2 is out now with a host of improvements. cheers
80% of children watch this, because an adult man think how to provide for their children and not to buy toys. Unless of course he not makes money on it.

absolutely epic

Good vid guys! Happy New Year to ya! I spied the Kyosho ;-)
thanks mate, yes the kyosho was there...didn't get any footage of it tho. happy new year to you!
RC Maxx UK took the DBXL out today for a proper run am well pleased with it clocked 36mph on wet grass box stock so can't complain
sounds great mate. i've nearly bought a hopped up dbxl myself a cpl times. maybe get a 1/5 group bash going...hopefully at bashfest
RC Maxx UK yep up for that 👍🏻
the look in the boys eyes, the boy wants a Dragon Hammer 😁.
YEAH! he was running my baja about and liked the 1/5 scale buzz for sure
RC Maxx UK it's just got expensive for you 😂
already is mate! ;)
one of you need to get a Losi MTXL 1/5 It's a BIG BAD ASS Truck it's one SICK RC if yal like 1/5 you love the MTXL
keep up the good vid mate
looked at it mate. its a bit on the expensive side here in the UK... but def would consider a used upgraded one at a keen price! ;)

How about wrapping the exhaust with exhaust wrap.. Will keep the temp down.
Happy New Year
happy new year mate ;)
:)
Happy new year! Great bashing. Glad that you fix Baja. What happened with your old engine?
still got it. maybe needs a new ring. compression seems low on it
mad max/hostile tyres will increase the grip roll they do on the losi 5ive T have you considered using baja rears as they will be lower profile and slightly wider hence more stable, we were out bashing today in west london (gurnell skate park) and we had a chap turn up with a kracken vektra.5, really well made bit of kit and seemed very stable.
thanks for the com mate. yeah they dig in i guess. i think tyre choice is very important on the hammer
how do you get in touch wth this losi lee...wouldnt mind a new shell for me dragon hammer
That Dragon hammer needs some sway bars, different shock springs and oil.
What tire was the spare one I need a set of them to I have the mad max ones
As a matter of fact.. U guys will love this i have a 1/1 scale and I can get right on the motherfer and drive it!!!
to solve your header heat head over to the auto parts store and pick up some dei exhaust wrap lace it into place and body melt will decrease but remember to always drive it like you stole it. That wrap will solve body melt.
thanks for that advice mate ;)

what is the value of a cart of that?
I think my nephew big wheel could maybe keep up.
Do you think that the springs are to stiff and that's what makes it easy to roll over? Also do you think that the version 2 will roll over just as easily as the version 1? Thanks

if you are not in a rush, stephen will be modding his v1 to v2 spec over the coming months i believe.
RC Maxx UK Yes I'm in a rush tell him to hurry :-)
So which pipe do you like best the stock pipe or the tuned pipe? Also do you know the top speed with the stock pipe? and vs. the tuned pipe . Thanks
BIGGBULLxxx hi mate. I really like the tuned pipe. Though Stephen the owner sometimes thinks it's a bit too loud. Sorry we didn't speed test it on the stock pipe. We are planning to soon with this tuned pipe though. Cheers.
Como faço para comprar um desse??
What is the handling difference between the diggers and bow-ties
Hi mate, we only tried the stock tyres and diggers on this dragon....and only the diggers once, so we could not take much from it. it was quite muddy when the diggers were used and they did a great job forward traction wise but maybe had a bit too much side grip for it.looked great on though. cheers
RC Maxx UK good stuff looks cool

240fps is tempting though lol.
agree 100% 720 and it cuts in zoom wise, so suddenly everything is a lot closer. need to mess more with the settings for sure. cheers
RC Maxx UK whats the highest 1080p FPS you can record at mate?
120 fps.... which is dam good actually. i'll try that setting as i think it's suit me a lot more 1080 and wide field of view. 240fps can only do narrow field.....

yeah. at 120fps i can slow it down to 1/4 speed which should be decent for the rc stuff at least... 240fps the 720p footage was poor tbh.
grip roll
yes mate! ;) happy new year bud
RC Maxx UK and u dude! ave a good un!!!
Why is it just impossible to find the dragon hammer buggy to buy on the web !!!!!!! it is discountinued on every single website !
eBay has them right now.
How much for one like that and where can I get one from ?
Hi mate. They are hard to find used, so going new here... they are sold in the UK through rcmodelz.
the roller is £1000, u got to allow £4-500 for the engine ,servos and trans /recei and kill switch i guess.... the 1 in the vid is a V1, the V2 is out now with a host of improvements. cheers
all noise no go sorry mate
80% of children watch this, because an adult man think how to provide for their children and not to buy toys. Unless of course he not makes money on it.
These 1/5 scale and bigger rc are gonna a joke. Just book up a servo to a 450 four wheeler and be done.
