  • Very few of these are around at the moment and its very early days tuning and setup wise for the truck and its new owners. This 1 is stock and running only 5000Mah lipos.
    It blew a foam and tyre off the bead early on. I would imagine thick fluid in the front diff and centre ( if it hads 1?) would tame the front end ballooning. wether the 1 wheel lift is a trait of this truck is yet to be seen. I am hoping it is not.
    check out the truck at;

    enjoy ;)

      You should always glue the tires to the rim. Unless they're beadlock rims.

    • @BIGGBULLxxx
      @BIGGBULLxxx Před 6 lety

      @@jmac3693 ...those are beadlock rims, they are not holding the tire down on the rim under high rpm. So I figure putting glue on the tire and then put the beadlock ring on, that should give it the ultimate hold😉

  • @BIGGBULLxxx
    @BIGGBULLxxx Před 6 lety +1

    I also put gorilla super glue all around the lip of the tires and then put the beadlock ring back on. Now the tire will be glued to the beadlock ring and the beadlock is still screwed into the rim. This should prevent the foam slipping out of the tire when the tire expand at top speeds. I know I won't be able to use those rims again but by the time those tires ware down those rims will have been beaten up , and therefore it will be time for some new rims and tires.

    • @RCmaxxUK
      @RCmaxxUK  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi mate. I did exactly that with my losi 5t big bore 50cc. I glued the foam to the wheel. glued drywall tape to the inside of the tyre.... then the tyre to the foam, glued the inner tyre wall to the side of the foam, then the deadlock to the wheel/ tyre and used wood screws on the beadlocks. used gorilla glue on 1 which was a bit messy as i was unaware it expands and foamed out the sides as i used too much.... sticks like sh*t (screw fix) on the other 3. at bashfest on the oval i ran 3 sessions... snapping a drive shaft each time but the tyres and foams stayed on!!!! result!!!

  • @BIGGBULLxxx
    @BIGGBULLxxx Před 6 lety +1

    So far with my experience with the voltz it needs softer rear springs. The stiffness of those rear springs does not allow the rear suspension to give or flex enough. I'll check to see if fid racing makes a softer rear spring for it. Or maybe put a set of front springs in the rear and lower the collar down, because the front springs are perfect.

    Do you have a suggestion for a better tire maybe?or a solution to make it last longer?

    • @RCmaxxUK
      @RCmaxxUK  Před 5 lety

      Michy Assouline hi mate. This voltz is actually not mine. But I did have the petrol version and now having 50cc plus 1/5 scales I’m fairly into the whole tyre thing as it’s a big issue for you with the voltz and me with my 50 keeping tyres on and foams in the tyres! One suggestion is to put thick fluid in the Center differential to try to stop power going to the front tyres so hard. Maybe heavy fluid in the front diff too?... not sure. I’m talking 500k or so. Really thick!
      2nd is tyre prep. You could try brp tyres and hubs of course but u will loose size and they are big ££££.
      I have tried with success using wood screws instead of beadlock screws and glueing the tyre/ foam / bead with gorilla glue. It’s worked very very well so far. I did a video on this subject. I’ll link you it. 👍 good luck!

    • @RCmaxxUK
      @RCmaxxUK  Před 5 lety

      hmmm interesting opinion. thanks for the comment ;)
      out of interest what cost are you thinking for that kit?...here in the UK at least ( i don't know the exact numbers without looking) but at the time of this vid i would not be surprised if the voltz rtr is not similar money to the Vek5 kit.... then you have the conversion kit, full electronics and all the costly upgrade parts the vk seems to need to run reliably ( this is what i hear ever since the VEk5 appeared as several of my friends have had and sold them...though some have also had and sold the dragon hammer inc me)
      Would possibly work in the US with the cheaper Vek and higher £voltz??? dunno without US$ prices to go on....££ has to be taken into account. I've seen Vek5 roll big time too.... fid has better setup now to reduce rolling...personally i would not buy either loll hahahah ;)

      @@RCmaxxUK I'm in Australia and yeah it costs quite a bit more for the Vekta kit and the conversion kit and electronics. I only had my Vekta for a few months and sold it. They're too heavy, just like the Voltz. The 5iveT, 5iveB and DBXLe are the best

    • @RCmaxxUK

      gavsta72 I agree mate. They are too heavy for brushless really. Stresses the electronics a lot. I’m actually in the process ( well not started yet) of converting my losi 5b with the tlr kit to brushless. I think it’s an ideal platform for it. Only a simple max5 8s setup for starters. I do like it petrol but want to try it.
