really nice video guys just picked up nice used one off guy in U.K, you guys gave me some nice tips for when i have to take mine apart i don't have batteries for mine yet and plan to use different wheels as well can't wait also designing to stuff to make it look more like something i would rock

Ive had the gas version of fid dragon hammer v2 for a week or so and have been super impressed by it. Was so close to buying a vekta 5 glad i didnt...
dose take some getting used to how the car will react and can be prone to grip roll ,slight change of driving style can help this .
definitely looking forward to your future videos to see how dragon hammer handles 12s , gonna be some tyre shredding action id say . Both Gas and Electric Versions of this car are very well thought out and it always leaving me with a smile on my face with such i high level of detail thought the car.

Looks like a better rig than the Kraken to me. RC Max UK put axle extenders on their gas one to stop traction rolling.

I've built some nice trucks based on Traxxas T-Maxx and E-Maxx's but wow, that's a proper quality package for the price and it's still cheaper than modifying the heck out of a standard plastic truck. As a result of watching this video, I've decided that we will now begin to transition the global military industrial complex secret space program into manufacturing these trucks instead to keep all the engineers and bean counters busy and every town in the world will be drafted to build their own tracks and regular competitions will be held in order to rebuild local communities and bring people together. Obviously in our enlightened new society, race winning will be banned and anyone caring who won will be arrested, viciously beaten then chipped and sent to a world government re-education camp for reprogramming and endure 5 years of hard labour breaking rocks with a sledgehammer in a Siberian gulag whilst being forced to listen to Justin Bieber. Finally peace on earth will be all mine! Sorry, ours!

On the #81 Red truck, I saw that the pinion gear is open on the motor plate. Is there a cover for it? Or is it open all of the time? If it is open, that would be hard on the gears as you would constantly be getting sand, dirt, water, and mud up in there.
Those are beasts, I will have to get one, and I will see if there is a U.S. supplier as it's over $300.00 to ship it here.

SUPERB! great to see you guys getting your hands on 1 of these! I have seen and filmed 1 myself and seen it run with the std electronics on 8s. it was pretty quick. The guy blew a foam out of the wheel/tyre within a lap i think ( check my vid if u r interested) ... so be aware... no doubt you are already... that 12s power will need some tyre/ wheel prep for sure. the standard tyres are big ( larger diameter than the v2 petrol version ( an option) so they will balloon big time. I was also very interested in wether fid have considered the dreaded 1 wheel up in the air on power problem other solid rear axle e cars suffer from. after seeing the car on 8s i am concerned that they have not considered this and found a solution like traxxas did with the UDR. The yeti xl seems to suffer big time on 6s for example.
Just 1 issue from your starting intro to the car... ( not managed to watch the whole vid yet)... this is not a chinese vek5. The cars are very different. the only real similarity is that they both have a solid rear axle. thats about it. The FID was also around 1st. The FID Dragon is however most definitely a vastly higher spec car than the Vek5 out of the box at a much cheaper price. The 2 handle very different too. I think in general the VEk5 is a no brainer in the US compared to the dragon with the US availability and pricing. Uk and maybe elsewhere the FID is by far the better financial choice.

If you were to chose beter one dragon or vekta? In terms of quality, price and overall enjoyment.
I have run the Voltz for a full season now. have not owned a Vekta but my friend had one.
The voltz seem to be at least the same quality apart from a few small things that is easy 2 fix.(bad hingepins and swaybar).
At least in Europe it is A lot cheaper than kraken, especially the electric version So i would easily take the Voltz .

The tall tyres cause the traction roll. Throw some Baja 5T wheels on the Vekta and it will never roll, I've tried my hardest but to no avail :)

I have the same truck as yours and i have a problem with it...
Everytime i take it for a spin i blow out the tires after 20 seconds (two 16000mah 4s 25c batteries).
Do you have a suggestion for a better tire maybe?or a solution to make it last longer?
I cant find any other 230mm tires (smaller means less speed obviously)

That thing is monstrous, and the price is very, very fair for that much nicely machined aluminium. As stated elsewhere, the traxxas x-maxx looks like a toy grade pos compared to this- then again, everything traxxas makes is toy grade until you replace 90% of the parts with aftermarket gear...

The Dhv 2019 is about 25 kgs with 15000mah 8s batteries. I have put mine on the scales.
My friends upgraded gas vekta is 24-25 kgs. So quite similar.

@@runngunrc1991 yes i live in U.S. and still have my Dragon Hammer if you check the Dragon Hammer Voltz group on FB you can see it thourgh it's transformations it's now basically a monster truck with primal mt tires and rims on it and a shorthend redcat clawback body on it .. so hard to compare it to other stuff ... hard to say what i did not like about it since i never played with it in stock fourm ...
