- The Staff Arcane Support Tempest is one of my favorite builds to play in Guild Wars 2 PvP because of how versatile the staff weapon is for healing at range and providing control effects in large areas.

The ArenaNet ele mains strike again! Tempest support is so awesome. Sad that I just got done with my legendary medium armor lol now I need to work on light I guess.

So glad I found this video. I recently came back to GW2 since starting my ele back on the Steam launch. One thing I remembered that originally put me off the game was how bad the staff felt on ele compared to how strong masteries felt with their associated weapon. it gave me the false impression the ele was a battle mage class rather than a ranged magical class as I originally thought it was. So much so I was thinking about re rolling to Druid for the ranged healer playstyle. Glad I don't really need to now ^^
I played a lot of gw2 pvp back in like 2016-2017, and oh boy staff temp would've been unthinkable. it's so amazing to come back in 2023 and I saw mult staff support tempest in last month's AT! it's kinda unreal to see, but very welcomed!
I've been playing this build once a day for 6 days now and omg it is so fun and I haven't lost a single match.
I'm kind of a pvp noob und only play unranked pugs so it definitely works there!

With that elem "changes" (buffs) I think recreating "one build for rule them all" for it would be awesome. Cuz that dagger 3 dash affected me personally.

@@avielp because now you can use dagger 3 in fire and earth as dps and evade frame without dashing past 508 blocks, 387 counties, 4832 states, 74892 continents and 473829 universes in a single pvp match.
@@avielp it's just weird, specially if you play focus offhand, all water and air focus are target, if you still want to get max ranger in those dashes you gotta untarget, and then target back cuz of the focus skills. Also the dashes range arent that big, so it's not like untarged ranger gs 3, it just feels weird. If you talk about pvp firedash could hit all targets on node for massive dmg, 5k to 9k each, now if you don't untarget you can hit a solo target. It was a very specific instanced content update, that ended up being worse for every other content in the game.

i would say staff is stronger, but not as safe, so it can carry much harder if you can position and if the enemies dont hound you, so in higher tier play you may prefer to use the dagger focus
Wondering if you could highlight the new Willbender changes. Fell in love with it on your suggestion.
nothing much changed for them, if you use the virtues at the same time you just dont lose their effects, but it doesnt really change the playstyle

Id love to see a build using the new guardian hammer changes! I've been playin hammer willbender but since youve already made a build for that maybe hammer dhunter, or core?
I tried to make a hammer dragonhunter build and pull them into my hammer 5 with traps but couldnt get it to work well. Maybe someone else will figure something out but I doubt it will be anything that op

What would you recommend for when ur being targeted will benders seems to just stomp me and sometimes mesmers and it just makes it hard to live and can't always hope to have help from allies

I wonder can I do this on weaver too :P though losing all overload and shout but you can switch attunement faster, but that 2 lost I wonder would it worth it.

Blast finisher give aura? I thought only leap do that?
blasts always do an aoe effect, leaps give aura to only you, and it depends on the field. For ice field it gives frost aura on leap and aoe frost aura on blast
Water 2 into water 4 gives aoe frost aura, it's a main combo for support tempest on staff
Some of us want to see how you would perform as a scourge in pvp and your advices according to your experience. We know it is weak for pvp but anyway.
