- We fight the first major boss Gigas in the early game on the hardest difficulty which is unlocked after beating the full game. On hard mode, enemy shields and health are tankier, and they hit much harder. But we take no damage throughout the fight.

As someone who platniumed Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3 and Elden Ring, Stellar Blade plays nothing like Dark Souls. Asides from difficulty at the highest difficulty option, it instead boasts its own flare kinda like how Kena: Bridge of Spirits was exaggerated as a “Pixar” version of Dark Souls.
From the varying abilities to the parrying gameplay, Stellar Blade is its own identity with clear inspiration drawn from the games aforementioned.

@@cbgg1585i dont think he meant the fighting style he prolly just meant the difficulty hardness. This game has a soul tint for sure lol. But if i was to compare this it gives like dmc, ff16 vibe
played 20 hours of this game (so far) and for me it feels like a mix of Sekiro, DMC, and NieR:Automata
There really needs to be some kind of combat showcase like a boss rush or survival

You can do a new save from scratch in hard mode, don't need to go to NG+

Yeah, I was expecting a little bit more give to this game but it went full on dark souls difficulty. I expected somethings like FF16 or DMC, bayonetta even but the difficulty and style is not what I had in mind.
It's actually not really difficult once you get the hang of the parrying and dodging.
I'm about 8 hours into the game, and I mostly die from fall damage or when I encounter new enemies with new attack patterns.
Every time I successfully parry the enemy, it just feels extremely satisfying, and then they give you so many options to counter after you do.
I struggled at first but like 5 hours in something just clicked. And I beat this guy second try whereas the sword guy took close to 10
I have nothing against the combat at all. It's just, I guess my expectations were something a little bit more free range if that makes sense. Phenomenal game otherwise though.

When not using lock on, u can turn ur body to face the attack just before tapping parry. Thats how u fight multiple enemy when u cant use lock on
