My take is this team was put on a pedestal because of names, and the great qualifying campaign but in truth are no better than when Santos was coach. At least Santos got us 2 trophies lol.
Ronaldo I was one to defend him before the start , I said he deserved to be a starter. But as the tournament went on realized his heart is there but the body Isn’t anymore. I think he would have been better as a bench player coming on in the 2nd half. He’s still the greatest and what he has done will cement his status as one of the GOAT’s.
But I think he won’t retire yet. He has his eyes set on the WC in 2026.
R Leao was a big disappointment to me. I expected big things from him this tournament but he was disappointing.
So was B Fernandes. His play in the France game was horrible. And Felix is a flop. That big transfer and all that money went to his head. He is finished.
Antonio Silva was also disappointing. That first mistake in the Georgia game was horrible.
Pepe, Vitinha, Mendes, Costa the best players this tournament. Especially the old war horse Pepe. ❤
What could have been if Ronaldo instead of passing to Fernandes and scoring himself would that have given him that boost needed??
And all this talk about Portugal being able to field 2-3 teams is hilarious. Georgia put that to rest.
Oh well some of us like me lol remember the dark ages of Portuguese football in the 70’s,80’s and 90’s when we hardly qualified. Last 24 years we’ve qualified 13 times. Every tournament. It’s a great feeling being at the big dance. Let’s enjoy it.

If Ronaldo doesn’t retire from the seleccao then he definitely will play in the Nations League. He won’t give away any games where he could pad his stats. He also won’t want to see the team look better without him, which they most certainly will.

Why do you think it is a good idea to keep Cr7 in the team as a sub? Like for example what is his strengths that you see from this tournament? He could not even score header after all the crosses when he plays full 120min
