    My 97 has p heads, if you want regular gt40’s remember 97 was a transition year they could have either.

    That looks in great shape! I’m relieved! And just FYI, it smoked when I turned it on but not while I was driving. It’ll be a good motor.

    1. Is this a good block to do a 331/347 stroker build?

      Tons, as it’s a base 302. You can keep the explorer Intake and computer and place it in anything. I am building a 347 with it and keep the stock efi and computer. Stay tuned.

      @@Guillo78 absolutely. Just toss out all the efi, grab an intake and carb, distributor, etc.

    will a 302 fit in a ford explorer 2005 currently has a 4.0 ....?

      Not sure, but it likely will.

      @Arrozconchopsticks Před rokem

      No reason why it shouldn't. Its smaller than a mod motor which that gen came with as an option.

    So are the gt40 p heads better then the original gt40 heads

    • @alpinegarage8548
      @alpinegarage8548  Před 3 lety +1

      Not better, not worse. A bit higher compression, but you will need to buy special headers that fit only P heads.

    • @sgtmi113r8
      @sgtmi113r8 Před rokem

      You would be better with regular gt40 heads, you just about have to make ypur headers to fit the p heads, no one makes them anymore, the only brand ik of is torque monster and its pretty exspensive for a set of headers
