They modified the original Top Thrill Dragster to make Top Thrill 2. The top hat, launch, and brakes are all in exactly the same spot, with modifications being made to the existing track.
From looks only, it's ok. But if you're waiting for your ride what a f***ing performance every time the train rolls back to get enough speed to get over the top again - to be honest, I don't think I could be bothered to wait in the mega long queues. Unless it was late in the eve and not so busy!!
Cedar Point closed Top Thrill Dragster in 2021, and this year, it reopened as Top Thrill 2, with the addition of a 420 foot spike, with a multi-launch element to it!

We visited for the Media Day event on April 25th. Previews were/are being held April 28-May 2, with its grand opening on May 4th!
Thats not apart of the ride its a malfunction the way it went backwards cause it didnt pick up enough speed

you're probably right about the acceleration, but you gotta remember that you're going about 100 mph for a sustained amount of time which feels insane
