I have recently started watching Telegu and Malyalam, Korean films (other than Bengali , Hindi and English) and out of this list I have only watched "The Great Indian Kitchen" which is so subtle yet so strong!!
Have a look of Tamil & Kannada films too..Tamil movies r in b/w the Malayalam & Telugu films with mixers of Commerical/Genre/Classic films...Kannada movies r sort of Malayalam movies genre...
Have a look of following Kannada movies from Amazon Prime... (1) Kavaludaari (2) Avane Srimannarayana (3) Mayabazar 2016 (4) Ulidavaru Kandanthe [ Not available in Prime, Search in online, worth watching from the concept of Akira Kuroshowas' "Rosoman"] (5) Recently released, Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana looks very promising, myself waiting for OTT release date...

Amazing list! As a telugu guy, I can say that this has been a more than satisfactory year for us. Of course, we are nowhere near the high standards that the Malayalam and Tamil industries seem to be setting but films like Cinema Bandi, Love Story, Jaathirathnalu, Raja Raja Chora have made it clear that we'll be doing well in the coming years. Also eagerly waiting for Pushpa and Shyam Singh Roy, hope they'll reach our expectations!
Yup we are slowly catching up to Tamil industry as in making both commercial masala films and genre based films. Malayalam is only good for genre films they cant make a good masala film.

This year is bad for telugu cinema , Tamil cinema 10 more good films than Telugu.... Telugu cinema ni close ga follow ayina vallaki telustadii what telugu cinema is doing ani...

@@KumarB819 I get your point but you're missing something here. 2019 lo Mallesham lanti beautiful film vacchina the reception was very poor. However, this year, the 10 good films were all received well irrespective of the cast and crew, thanks to OTT platforms. My comment was that all good films this year, including the ones you mentioned got a good response and were genuinely encouraged. And I don't know what you have against Tamil films so I don't wish to comment on that.

As a malayalee myself(who speaks and understands tamil as well), I prefer malayalam movies over other regional language movies. But what's with the low-key bashing of bollywood movies always? There have been some really good bollywood movies in the recent past as well as horrendous malayalam movies. I see a lot of us south Indians do this. Give credit where its due and critique without bias!
Most of the films on ur list matches with mine but do u know what makes me angry,the 15 films which were shortlisted for Oscar submission from India.I mean how can films like shershaah and kaagaz can be sent to the Oscars I mean they are good films but not Oscar material (prove me wrong)

It's not that all Hindi movies all bad but there are some very good movies which don't get recognition it deserved.But many starkid launch films are so bad that it takes the shine away from other very good often underappreciated Bollywood movies.Bollywood copies from South India,Korean, Hollywood movies.Bollywood has to recognize original content.
