Here's my theory. It's some kind of trial based around varying levels of fear. They're obviously being asked to read the same phrase but in each scene the mood and delivery is much different. I think during whatever this "trial" is the participants are going to be exposed to varying levels of fear (i.e. something horrifying like glimpsed at the very end) and then asked to read or interpret something as kind of a baseline. You can tell in the second and third scenes that the participants are much more stressed/fearful while the delivery in the first scene seems relaxed and "normal"
My theory is that Kojima is a hack, who can make mediocre games, and he got kicked off of Konami because was running the project's bank accounts dry by spending time and money to hangout with Hollywood actors instead of finishing the game. Kojima san is truly the god of video games and a visionary

This is nuts, I feel like he's actually got the actors to experience the scenes, you can see the lady at the end in her eyes, the reflection of the door that she watched open, and there is something standing there when she looks higher and screams. It looks like it is face tracking, but where the actual actors are shown the scene from their perspective in the game world? Im medical so i just see OD as "Oculus Dexter" which is your right eye. Oculus Sinister OS is left eye, and Oculus Uterque OU is your binocular vision. Lot of imagry regarding sight here, olus the text is positioned like a Snellen chart. Perception will probably play a big role, and it should as a horror game.

Kojima cares about philosophical themes such as "connections" and "syntony". Maybe this game is about a new way of living reality through a new form of living being that somehow manages to be in synchrony with its species, in this case the player connected to other players via cloud gaming. Who knows. Philosophizing about the art of Kojima is interesting. Kojima's mind is incredible.

If you increase the brightness of the screen, you can make out some letters inside the man's mouth. The letters form the word "Atami" which is the name of a city in Japan whose name translates literally as "Silent Hills"... Would OD be the full version of Silent Hills PT?
This is nuts, I feel like he's actually got the actors to experience the scenes, you can see the lady at the end in her eyes, the reflection of the door that she watched open, and there is something standing there when she looks higher and screams. It looks like it is face tracking, but where the actual actors are shown the scene from their perspective in the game world? Normally this is done like "look at this ball, and imagine it is a big monster". But this looks so authentic.
Looks like gameplay is in the eyes of the characters.
Real live actors in games are braking the barrier of immersion.

The best thing of this trailer is that, eventually, everything will make sense.
Kojima can just release 1 minute trailer of him looking into the camera silently and people would still eat it up. So count me in.
Interesting that they are using scanned in heads and the phonetic pangram: "the hungry purple dinosaur ate the kind, zingy fox, the jabbering crab, and the mad whale and started vending and quacking." Makes me think the game might scan our faces and make 3D models of them using Metahuman and then have us say a bunch of sentences like this in order to generate our voices. Then similar to an AI being trained on images/articles/etc the game might train us (using our own likeness and voices) on horrifying gameplay to see if we can 'overdose' on fear. A weird scenario where us and the AI swap places in the model training.
I love this theory. If this is real it's basically the scariest experience of all time in a videogame setting!

Also interesting how Sophia Lillis' seems willing, Hunter Schaffer's character is nearly breaking down in tears, while Udo Kier is speaking the words angrily while glaring off to the side.

Im medical so i just see OD as "Oculus Dexter" which is your right eye. Oculus Sinister OS is left eye, and Oculus Uterque OU is your binocular vision. Lot of imagry regarding sight here, olus the text is positioned like a Snellen chart. Perception will probably play a big role, and it should as a horror game.
That scream reaction at the end was great. Good actress.
Pretty sure this is inspired by the PT demo he did with Guillermo del Toro. Kojima even walked out of the same door from the demo at the game awards.
An animation that seems to have been created by an artificial intelligence, repeated phrases that could hide a hidden message, some subjects that seem to be undergoing a psychological test and an anxious setting within a dark place where the only light source is an opening door. Is it a game about human mind and fear? Could it even be a videogame about AI becoming human? An AI inside a human vessel to become sentient. They seem artificial sentient living beings. Or perhaps it could be a video game about controlling an artificial sentient living being, or perhaps it is a normal sentient human being, which you can influence psychologically through the use of psychoactive substances? From this concept could come the title "OD" which could mean Overdose. Kojima said that it will be something that combines movie and video game. A new form of entertainment. A new type of media. And the use of cloud gaming will be fundamental. Perhaps the actions of the rest of the other players could influence your game experience and that humanoid you could control. Kojima cares about philosophical themes such as "connections" and "syntony". Maybe this game is about a new way of living reality through a new form of living being that somehow manages to be in synchrony with its species, in this case the player connected to other players via cloud gaming. Who knows. Philosophizing about the art of Kojima is interesting. Kojima's mind is incredible.
You're thinking too deeply into it, the animation looks AI because it's made with UE5 with their new mesh tech. doubt it's going to be related to AI

-there's a clicking kind of sound after every cut that i think is supposed to be the mechanical wheel in ophthalmoscopes.
I think the ophthalmoscope/eye test is probably a metaphor about seeing things in and out of focus mirroring the concept of things moving in and out of existence, possibly under the influence of induced test drugs.
Also it's pretty childish to consider anything uncanny or weird made by AI :p

Now, i haven't checked this part for myself that detail, but people are saying that each Kanji in Atami can be interpreted as "Silence" and "Hill"

I love that this short Teaser is enough already to start multiple theories in the comments, theories about the OD being about Drug Abuse and psychological damage, reflections in the eye, and AI copying Voice, that is exactly the kind of mystery and the theories about it i love.

When the price matches the value, maybe. For these awkwardly placed exclusives its usually a "pass" from me. Same with what happened to Bayonetta going Nintendo exclusive. Can't justify buying a whole machine I don't want just to play 1 game I do want. I'd have to be nuts lol.

So the very beginning the face looked like a rorschach test image, then whatever theyre looking at has lights that are slightly forming shapes, then the obvious last one where it seems like a door is opening to somethint. Maybe "its all in your head" theme?

PT is one of my favorite pieces of horror medium ever I am so interested to see what this is. The "For all players" at the end makes me think this won't be a console exclusive...Also..why is Kojima just initialing all of his upcoming projects?
