Let’s explore the least known tombs of the nobles in Luxor. You’ve probably never heard of them as some have just recently been discovered! Their owners - high officials of the New Kingdom period (16th to 11th centuries BC) - decorated their eternal dwellings in the most spectacular way.
Come with me to the deserted village of Qurnet Murai and let’s get to know more about the Nubians inside the tomb of Amenhotep known as Huy (TT40), take a look at rare images of Amenhotep III and Mentuhotep II inside the Ameneminet’s burial structure (TT277), and let’s learn about the sacred sycamore tree in the tomb of Amenemhab (TT278).
Then we will explore the necropolis of Dra' Abu el-Naga' where the colors inside the tomb of Roy (TT255) will blow your mind, trust me! 🙂
Inside the newly discovered tomb of Shedsu-Djehuty (which hasn’t been opened for visitors yet) you will learn about the tombs from the Middle Kingdom. Our journey will end inside the tomb of Djehuty (TT11), which during my visit in February 2023 had been opened for visitors only two or three days earlier so you’ll have a rare opportunity to venture through the newly reconstructed, never filmed on CZcams with such a details, the burial of ancient Egyptian noble.
Let’s go!
Explored in February 2023.
It's a must-see video for all of you, who visit Egypt or Luxor - the ancient city of the first pharaohs. To appreciate and cherish the magic of the place before you travel to Egypt watch this. My vlog / full documentary will give you a little taste of ancient wonders: ancient architecture, ancient beliefs, and ancient history.

Such a great episode, thanks for showing us these rare tombs that cute little village. It'd seen recreations/restorations of the paintings from the tomb of Huy at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but to see it live in your video was amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much, also for your comments and support. I love your channel!❤️✌️

I found this so relaxing to watch! Very nice.
I'm glad✌
Superb knowledge Ancient Girl, and you're voice is beautiful! Melodically hypnotic
Thank you soooo much!
Absolutely awesome Irena as always. I dont know how it's hard for small channel's like yours to break through with such brilliant recordings, the footage is sumptuous and your knowledge of the history to go with it is a pure genius skill. Your channel deserves to be huge and well enjoyed by everyone who seeks the ancient history. I love your channel and I hope you get all the views you want and need, you show us what other channels dont and when people all over cotton on you will be massive and everybody will learn from you and respect you because you have done all the hard work with studies and exploring. I salute you.

thank you, such comments are very important to me, especially when everyday duties and full-time work take away my strength to run a channel that, I must admit, takes a lot of my time. Nevertheless, it is my passion and I would love to continue it for viewers like you. Thanks for your support Mark❤️

The only site I look forward to - thank you.
Thank you!
When I see you reading or explaining the images on these tombs, I am reminded of the Voyager space probes with the golden albums on them. Millions of years from now, although highly unlikely, some aliens may discover them and read them to their species. Here you are, reading or explaining these messages to us. I wonder if the makers of these tombs ever envisioned that thousands of years later a beautiful young lady would be reading these messages to the whole world. HOW LUCKY THEY ARE!!! HOW LUCKY WE ARE!!! 👍✨💖🍾🌻🌹😻👀
These tombs are indeed real time capsules. They probably had access to mastabas from the Old Kingdom, so who knows... thanks for the kind, flattering comment (as always) and for your support Cat Man❤️✌️

You earned every word. I just wished you had more subscribers. Maybe some of these overseers of these tombs will take note of your good work. Happy Golden Doughnuts 🍩
At times I envisage the ghosts of those people watching us. Sometimes amused, sometimes astonished and sometimes they say silently thank you. If you are quiet you can hear them deep inside you.
Delighted to discover your channel !
I'm glad you like it
So interesting! Why have we never seen this? Thank you so much! I want to watch a few more times to really take in everything.
Thank you so much
So beautiful! ❤❤
Your videos normally have very good audio, but this one is particularly good! The 'background noise' ( 5:13 -ish) on the tomb of Hoy sounded really good! 👍👍❤❤
thank you so much😊
WOW, Irene! Great episode! I learned alot! I'm going to make a few comments here, so bear with me please. It's tragic that the tombs Art survived for millennia, and in less than 70 year's " professionals" managed to all but destroy, instead of preserve.
It's interesting that the flat wall paintings are characture representation of humans, yet many of the fully 3 dimensional sculptures look like portraits. As an artist I would definitely have been one of the artists working in the tomb!
I believe most of the Gold in Egypt was actually from Nubia ( modern South Sudan). As well as the Ivory etc. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Can't wait for for your next episode. Lots of love. 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦
of course, that's why the Egyptians put so much effort into keeping Nubia, even though it's always had ambitions of its own... Thank Colin❤️✌️
Thanks ASG. I went to Egypt 30 years ago and saw most of the best-known antiquities. This tour of tombs in a 'ghost town' brings home to me yet again that the Egyptian moment in time lasted THOUSANDS of years. The forgotten sites of Egyptian antiquities would be premier attractions in any other country. Once again, thanks for covering this amazing village.
I recently discovered your channel and I am loving it! Thank you so much for bringing us these informative and beautiful videos. I look forward to visiting Egypt someday, the place that makes my heart beat faster. 😇
Thank you so much and wish you a great adventure in Egypt, hopefully in the near future! :)
Great episode. I did not get to these tombs in my Egypt travels.
So much appreciated. Max Ulm
Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much ✌️
Awesome... must have been exciting... Lots of preserved color... Thanks for your passion... ❤🙏

These are beautiful depictions, Irina, altho' it saddens me that Humankind has sought to rob-out particular elements for personal gain - it's a common denominator since time immemorial; that said, we are fortunate that you - who is clearly passionate about this period of antiquity, continue to evaluate such once-hidden gems - & without which, we could never imagine the machinatiions of this continent; daily lives of the great & the good ( & the not so generous), as well as the more ordinary ethics of the less well known citizenry. Long may you continue in your quest to rediscover this incredible land. Wonderful stuff !
Andrew 🙂
Thank you for this wonderful comment. You're 💯 right! :)

GOLD DOUGHNUTS ARE THE BEST!!! They're a bit hard on the teeth. Do they come with sprinkles? 🎉
11:40 Ta piramida wygląda jak podcięty piramidion koło piramidy Cheopsa (?), a to niby wejście sugeruje, że to.... kapsuła.
Kiedyś "Kosmiczne Opowieści" zrobił film o kamieniu Benben i kontekst był właśnie taki...

ok ;)
At the 2:00 mark, I have the identical painting in a photo; it captures an event or wedding celebration. There are no bound captives depicted.
This is simply the way they adorned themselves. The official ancient Kemet pose involves crossing their arms. Left arm with right on top.
The initial dark-skinned girl at 2:21, holding the tray of gold, bears a resemblance to the dark-skinned girl situated behind the chariot.
Great reporting. Best videos. Careful not to confuse "wigs" with the natural hair of Egyptians and their southern neighbors. Tanks
thanks for the tip, hope you stay
Your videos on ancient Egypt are interesting and nice, but here I would like to mention that the village of Qurnat Murrai has not been deserted by the inhabitants but they have been chased out by the government, if needed with rifles aimed at them ... they did not receive a correct compensation but small concret houses or small flats in far away New Qurna. ... many elders died of a broken heart shortly after the expulsion ... a very sad story.
It's very sad, it seems that there was no good solution... I met one of the former residents of QM. thank you for this comment ✌️
Awesome white chocolate ..do you know that the recent Egyptian language which we talk now is 2/3 arabic and 1/3 heroghlefic !! (believe or not) !
It's fascinating! Someday I'll have to learn ;)

can you visit all theben tombs in one day? How would you organize a trip? Prices etc?
oh no, it's impossible😉
@@ancientsitesgirl why not sharing? I dont want to get cheated
it's impossible to see them all in one day
you just buy tickets and go into the desert to find these tombs, you don't need a guide.
I don't know prices as their changed this year. I was in Luxor last year.

It seems such a pity to leave the ancient treasures of Egypt in the hands of the Egyptians.
Nowadays, they take great care of their monuments. I would like to remind you that 150 years ago, in what remained of the plundered Roman Forum in Rome, there was a pasture for cattle... times have changed, not only in Egypt😉
Do you have a degree in Egyptology? or learning to become one?
No, it's my hobby😋
I learn more from the hobbyists than I do from the Egyptologists. Great channel
notice the blonde haired chariot driver of the Egyptians in Hoys tomb... and the radical difference... wiki viceroys of Kush... Nubian colony A were caucasians... and others... congoids didnt know any of this existed, and arent related... but there were many blondes and red heads like her.... such as Khufus grand daughter, or Ramses , ginger the pre dynastic blonde haired Gebelien mummy ect... look u blue eyed egyptian statues, what do you see..? or Hemuinu the architect of the great pyramid... or reserve heads, or King Tuts DNA ect...Notice at 10:20 redheads and blondes...
