  • The historian reveals how Egypt's enemies exploited a country weakened by internal strife, travelling south to Sudan to examine the story of the forgotten Nubian kings, who ruled Egypt from their southern homeland for a century, even building their own pyramids to bury their monarchs. She then explores how the next group of invaders the Saites took the tradition of mummification to new extremes by preserving millions of animals, before Alexander the Great came to Egypt's rescue and founded the greatest city on Earth.

"As Above, So Below" - precept of ancient sacred geometry
All the ancients observed 7 moving objects in the heavens - the Sacred 7 Luminaries/7 Heavens/7 Classical Planets: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. 4 of these can't be seen during the day/4 don't cast shadows on Earth. There are 4 primary lunar phases of roughly 7 days (~7.4 days) each, thus 7-day weeks and 4 weeks in a 'moonth'. Lunar year 354 days + 7 day week + 4 days = solar year 365 days. The Roman Calendar
The ancient Egyptians, Babylonians, and Israelites measured with cubits. Common cubits = 6 palms x 4 fingers = 24 digits. All sacred buildings used royal cubits = 7 palms x 4 fingers = 28 digits. See Seal #2: GOD=GOOD=7_4 or FOD=6_4 (on Planet Nestor) Theory at 7seals.blogspot.com . I am Greek and I cried tears of emotion watching this series. I feel such a strong connection to this land and its history. Egypt really is a seductress that manages to integrate anyone who aspires to conquer it. The Greek Egyptian hybrid was truly beautiful. Such a wonderful and culturally rich land Egypt is. I feel like if I ever visit Alexandria (a life long dream of mine), I will bend to my knees and kiss the land as soon as I land. Much love from Greece to the wonderful people of Egypt.

@@heartSLB Macedonians were a greek tribe. All greek tribes fought with each other back then, as there was no sense of country. They mocked each other and were political enemies with each other, trying to gain power over each other. Don't confuse ancient macedonian tribe with modern day country of North macedonia. The ancient region of macedonia is now split between four modern countries: Greece owns the south part (about 55% of ancient macedonian territory), North Macedonia owns the north part (about 35%), smaller percentages are also on albania and Bulgaria. In the Greek part, the palace of Alexander the great's family, and their tombs, several buildings and artefacts have been found. All with greek inscriptions. In the part of North Macedonia, they also find a lot of things with greek inscriptions but they do not shout about them because they don't want to admit macedonians were a greek tribe (they are slavic speaking and have their own propaganda that claims macedonians were not greek, even though the entire historian community mocks them relentlessly)

I told myself I would go to Egypt one day but it never happened. I appreciate you showing this absolutely awesome program about Egypt, it pulls me close to the beauty of the country. I actually wanted to go on digs when I was young but unfortunately my mom had other plans for us. The US is still a young country and they have been finding mummified bodies in Florida in a bog that are around 7,000 years old, just awesome. These mummies were found intact and with brains still in their skull. If I were still young and in better health I would have loved to be an archeologist and travel the ancient worlds. Maybe one of my grandchildren will be fascinated enough to do it.
