  • Let’s go back to Deir el-Medina and “Valley of the Nobles” in Sheikh Abd el-Qurna and get inside ancient Egyptian tombs!! Exploring the tunnels and chambers beneath the sands of Ancient Egypt. Dating back to the New Kingdom these mortuary structures are over 3000 thousand years old - contemporary to some of the most famous pharaohs - Ramses the Great, Ramesses III, and Amenhotep III. All ancient tombs are located in Luxor on the West Bank, in “the land of the dead”, the most important part of ancient Thebes. As having been watching all my episodes ;), you must already know that not only ancient workmen or noblemen were buried there, but also pharaohs, queens and their offspring, hence the enormous significance of this ancient site.
Join me and explore ancient funerary architecture - tombs of Inerkhau (TT359) , Rekhmire (TT100), Khaemhat (TT57), Amenemopet (TT41), Benia (TT343), and Khonsu (TT31). All of them decorated their rock-cut tombs with the most exquisite ancient art including funerary rituals, journey through the underworld, Egyptian mythology, and the afterlife.
Join me to get to know more about the ancient history, beliefs, and architecture of this wonderful place!
    Explored in February 2022.
It's a must-see full episode / documentary video for all of you, who visit Egypt or Luxor for the first time. To appreciate and cherish the magic of the place before you travel to Egypt, Luxor or Upper Egypt watch this. My vlog / full documentary will give you a little taste of ancient wonders: ancient architecture, ancient beliefs, and ancient history.

Thanks for such a detailed video, the opening shot was exquisite.
The relief at 12:57 looked so intricately embossed, shame that the colors got wiped off.
Also noticed at 17:52 fingers over the right shoulder which seem unusual.
Summarized very well in the end 23:50.

Another very exciting episode. I like the close-ups and the many details. The mystical music is also well chosen. But I would also find a few more shots of the surrounding landscape exciting. I always imagine what it must have looked like here back in time. :) .... but I understand, then there will certainly be many tourists in the picture. I always enjoy watching! :) Thanks.

      Hi Darren:
Always nice to hear from you. I understand that Ramses The Geat had red hair. To me, there's no doubt, Ramses The Great and Irena The Great are related. The red hair proves it (LOL). Have you ever listened to the group Celtic Women? THEY'RE GREAT! I ran into one of the original members, Orla Fallon, at the hotel I use to work at.

That's funny about the scarf...I was translating this sentence from this language learning program earlier today and I thought it very bizarre because it said "the red belt is not a superstition it protects you from the evil eye" so seeing this now is convenient enough to give me goosebumps. Thanks alot, I'll never be able to get red belts/scarfs of my mind
