Confronting an Internet Scammer

  • If the refund scam is one of the worst types of scam, then deliberately holding someone's PC to ransom to force a victim into compliance must be one of the most horrible tactics these scammers can employ. But what is better than travelling to meet an Internet scammer face to face?

@@thomasjones6216 I suppose they could be liable for damages if they didn't plaster enough warnings but I don't think any bank would forget to do that. My bank regularly sends me anti fraud reminders, "never share your info with anyone, always verify with us in person or on the number at the back of the card" etc. Of course, I'm not gonna fall for a scam like that but they have their bases covered. I suppose if their insurance covers being a complete idiot with your info/money then yeah they might probably see some of it back down the line, but I wouldn't count on it.

One thing you've always repeated, and I find this saddening, is that when you've contacted the relevant Cyber Police in these places, they haven't even responded. I can only assume that they are also corrupt, and probably receive payola to turn a blind eye. Anyway, as always, keep up the good work
