    Just completed the WAW on my motorcycle, the best way to see it in my opinion. We have a family home in Donegal and you missed a visit to Leo's Tavern in Meenaleck, just a few minutes from us. Home of Enya and Clannad.
    I didn't visit the Marconi station whilst at Mizen head as I can't believe they charge you to cross that bridge, same can be said for the €12 charge for the Cliffs of Moher. Slieve League cliffs in Donegal are the tallest in Europe and free.
    Achill island was one of the best places I visited on the trip after thinking I had seen all the best places around the peninsulas.
    Very informative video if we decide to take our campervan, I think the Irish in general are more tollerant of campervans as I saw many just pulling over by the coast without a bother unlike here in Scotland.
    👍

      Ah, Leo's Tavern. I'll go there next time. Climbed Slieve League a few years ago and couldn't believe what I thought was a clifftop walk was actually climbing a mountain. Wonderful. The coastal walk from Doolin offers much better views of the Cliffs of Moher and is free, but most folk don't want to walk. Drive up, pay the fee, look down on the cliffs and then move on for the next selfie. Not my way of doing things.

      @@CameronMcNeishOutdoors I'm with you there Cameron. I just realised when I stopped at Doolin car park that there must be a coastal car park, but I didn't have my walking gear with me. I'll do it next time when I take the van. Poor Leo passed away a few years ago now, but there's always someone chanting at the weekend. 👍

    Thanks Cameron. I have fond memories of travelling through Ireland with my elderly mother. My brother and I are planning on our family tree which originates from Ireland. Then I'll hike across it from coast to coast, and like you I'll enjoy the amazing music there, speaking as a musician by trade myself.
    Great advice re Aires. £10 p/night is a bargain! I just cannot afford a campervan right now let alone fill it with fuel.
    I think that you are a 'Carpe Diem' (a great book available by that title BTW) - Carpe Diem - 'Harvest Life' sort of guy.
    Safe travels 🙏

      @Dreyno Před rokem +2

      It’s population density. England is 50% bigger than the island of Ireland but has 8x the population. That’s why places like the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Cornwall are choking on tourists whilst here in Ireland, away from hotspots like Dingle and the Cliffs of Moher, there’s almost nobody around.

    Ireland is so lovely: I hope to be able to go there one day. Technically I did go there. When I was a teenager we had a 2hr layover at the airport on our way back from Europe. I still remember looking out the plane window and being mesmerized by the checkerboard landscape in varying shades of green. I remember how somewhere I had read that a true Irishman can distinguish 17 shades of green! 😁🙃

    Hey Cameron, your videos have inspired me to buy a camper van, my first camper van! Got my hands on a converted Toyota Alphard and am hoping to go on some of the same journeys you have shown us all. Thanks for inspiring me! Quick question, what video editing software do you use? I'm hoping to do some so I can replay my memories in later life. Cheers.
