@@batmansuperman290realistically it matters how you're built. 6'2 and having the frame of a linebacker is a lot different than 6'2 and having the frame of Machine Gun Kelly haha
Pay attention and listen to your body. I experienced a life-changing injury doing bent over barbell rows. I've spent years trying to get back where I was. I can no longer do any non-braced pulling movements. There are far too many other exercise options and pieces of equipment available to risk it.
I've always felt that the T-bar is better than the barbel row. Less strain on the back. Dumbell rows are also great. The barbel row feels like a very "unatural" movement to me.
I agree and T bar always seems to hit the back more for me, I feel it. Whereas normal barbell row I feel like my grip or forearms are struggling more. It’s also nice to load on some 45s and start to win on the T bar 😊
Barbell rows with an underhand grip will feel more natural since you can track your elbows back and engage your lats a lot more. Straight back and pull the bar to your stomach.
@@e39shady Yes they are good, but just a warning that if you're going heavy with an underhanded grip you risk tearing biceps (it's why Dorian stopped doing them).
Chest supported dumbbell rows has become my favorite exercise. I like to start with palms facing in and externally rotate the weight as i row up until my palms face my sides.
You can’t go wrong with free weight rows: barbell, T bar, dumbbell. All 3 grips, with your back at all angles. You can get a phenomenal back workout just rowing.
Prefer the t bar but can't go wrong with barbell either. You should be mixing it up switching between them every few workouts. However, I'm not a fan of the dumbell rows I find them least effective.
The best my backs ever been, weighted wide grip pull ups, lat pull downs, t-bar rows(heavy), seated rows with a superset of single arm rows…girls kept feeling my lats out of nowhere. -sincerely someone nobody asked
Jay can I ask. Do you have regular health check considering you are still using ateroids.. Have you had your heart scanned to see how big it is or to see how much cholesterol you have in the arteries vains and capillaries
It seems nobody is using the t-bar in my gym. I mean, i don't even know where is the grip, or how do I apply a handle on that thing because that one does not seem to have any.
That's my goal too. I usually only make it to 205 or so at the end of my workout cycle though. Seeing guys like Jay and Dorian doing 405 in their prime is crazy!
T bar row is easier to control during the ecentric and decentric motion than barbell rows. However it creates an excessive strain on your infraspinatus muscles which can increase the risk of shoulder iniury. I have had issues with it that's why i prefer and suggest first do barbell rows and increase the thickness and then go for t bar.
can somebody please explain this to me? The way Jay was yanking the weights always surprises me. If I try to do that type of movement with a weight that's above my paygrade i get injured or at least lull something. How does not get injured? There is no controlled tempo or saueeze at the top

I wish the flower given to Ronnie by Jay would come over and punch me right in the Gigachad!
He has to. Calling him the goat basically says "I only was second to the greatest bodybuilder of all time"
Jay is the best, man see how he still talks about his nemesis. Always respecting Ronnie. Such a legend and ambassador for the sport !
I love how he gives Ronnie his flower. Jay is a stand up dude
Good short. I should do t bar rows more often
T-Bar rows tomorrow for sure. 💪🏼😎👍🏻
I love these shorts. Quick, informative and to the point. Keep em coming Jay we appreciate it. Some food/supplement tips would be cool too.
Jay always shows Ronnie so much respect. I believe I heard over the years they have gotten really close and are good friends today
Love Jay for giving a shout out to Ronnie!! Jay looks like he still can compete
Overhand barbell rows are my favorite back excercise 🔥
6'2": T-bar and cable rows work best for me. Barbell rows put too much stress on my lower back.
has nothing to do with your height buddy... that just means you have weak posterior chain muscles. 100% guaratnteed!!!

@@batmansuperman290I tend to agree. Bent over rows got much easier to stay in position when I started doing deadlifts in my routine.

Close grip T bar rows has added tremendous mass in shoulder an back...its my go to
Week 1 I do deadlifts and t-bar rows
Week 2 I do bent over barbell rows, neutral grip (mag) pull downs and cable pullovers
