No One Wants to Work Anymore | Gen Zers would turn down a job that doesn’t align with their beliefs

- Like many generations before them, the current cohort of young adults isn’t necessarily looking to work for the man. The search for a stable salary and benefits, however, often poses a threat to this resolve. Gen Z is holding fast, though, trying to take hold of late-stage capitalism’s reins.
Why work just to pay bills and have no money to save ? Thats called working for nothing
That’s called slavery but they made it seem like paid work lol
That’s called community service
Because it's better than not even being able to pay bills. Why put yourself in an even deeper hole?
And the alternative is? Living off others.
Ok have mommy and daddy support you.
We are constantly told we live in the greatest country in the world without actually being great at anything. Our education sucks, healthcare sucks, most jobs are low paying with no benefits or perks. Basic things like time of a paid vacation which are given to you by law in other countries. No parental leave or pay for parents, no assistance or time of for childcare, highest rates of incarceration, record levels of homelessness and child poverty in 2023. Also declining birthrates across the nation while inflation runs rampant and most can’t afford the basic necessities. Tell me again why we are so great. Because we have a few millionaires and billionaires while most are one paycheck away from being on the streets.
Millionaires and billionaires are doing great right now
exactly and... they really want poor people to keep having those babies so the job market doesn't crash so they continue to line their pockets. It's sick.
But...,why do we have sooooo many millions of illegal aliens coming to OUR country?
14:14 Thank you Steam for empathizing with my situation, it really means a lot.
Thinking it's the greatest for no apparent reason; It's called grandiose narcissism
I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!
Stupid spam.
No spam here bruh lol
Also a lot of the illegal immigrants that are coming here, are highly educated and are much better workers than the people here.
Affordable housing is called your parent's house! That's so funny! 😆 And true!
Every time when I look up rent prices around my area, I'm dumbfounded! Like, what's the point? If I rented, I would be left without most of my savings. AND You don't even use the place that much,🙄 since you are at work!
Lie Flat USA
Yeah, some people have no shame and are willing to live with their parents forever.
@@marcuslinton310 Look around you. You live in a world with no shame.
@@marcuslinton310 It's better than the shame of being broke! I have no debt, no loans to pay. I would go insane if I knew at the back of my mind that I owe thousands of dollars to someone.
@@anti-emo4721 If you live with your parents past say 23ish, you owe your parents money. Literally taking advantage of their unconditional love because you know they won't ask for any. You probably eat their food as well. Easy to save money when you spend everyone elses.
Don't worry , people, i just saw a MIT economist interview saying how amazing AI will be for the working class, it won't take jobs but just reframe it and actually even create more jobs. So i went into a quick google search and found out MIT research is funded by government and industry, among others...
Just take a look at the banks: With tech they need less people but somehow they never got to use their newfound money, it was lost somewhere at the top
I was one of those who believed that automation gave workers jobs in fixing the new robots. But I recently realized that before robots a single factory worker could feed their entire family comfortably on a 40hr week.
lol i wrote a comment about the banks here, guess it was too sensitive and got deleted xd

The sooner people come together the quicker we can slay the beast. Don't give into fear that things will get worse, but that we will turn the tide for the better. Stay blessed and thanks for the words of wisdom mate.
this 🎩monopoly game has gotten out of hand
And at some point, one of the players is going to get mad and flip the board over. Only a matter of time folks
Nobody wants to work anymore
Who has ever wanted to work? We do it because we’re forced to
We don't want to work for assholes.
@@IAmVenix Actually, nobody is forcing you to do anything. You can simply choose not to work, have nothing and struggle and beg off your family and be a loser. Seems to work for a lot of people.
You literally explained why we’re forced to work. You can’t be that dumb.
It feels so overwhelming to be between people and crowds, forget about being present in office that's so clostrophobic and the work, don't even talk about it, peace of mind is more important for me now, I am doing low wage jobs now, where I am not required to use my brains much and also I am not required to talk to people much, making sure that there ain't any debt, broke the fking credit card, it's nonsense. I just want to live simple and minimum away from most of the people/zombies now a days, nothing else.....word is no much stressed out.
No price for the stress
I'm also mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore either!!!!!
Jokes on yall I've never wanted to work
I've eaten out of a dustbin before; I'll do it again. That said, I didn't go into education, so only my work experience counts. My friend is smarter, he went for an apprenticeship and got into something valuable; I personally think he is set for life so long as he sticks at it. Myself on the other hand? or people like me? We'll have to stick at whatever work is thrown at us that looks valuable. My only advantage is not being in debt. That's it. That's the catch, otherwise I have no saleable skills, other than experience. Exciting times!
Another day of grabbing ankles....
There is always time for it
🤣🤣🤣
I have a bachelor in information technology and my wage is 7.25 an hour for more than 40hs a week lol
You’re leaving info out. If what you’re saying is true then it’s 100% on you bc if you live within an hour of a major city it’s not hard at all to get an IT job paying a minimum of $40k/yr with an IT degree. Please don’t tell me your degree is from WGU bc if it is then that’s your problem. No one takes those seriously
@@richboii6597 Yeah but living at home is better to save money. If I went to the city id be paying rent and food for a higher wage but id have nothing left basically. Also everyone's asking for 3 minimum years of experience so I guess I'm fine for now
@@richboii6597 no people will take any job now because you have too its not a detail being left out and especially rn most of the areas ive been in and have talked to many around and im in cali and now its even harder to get a job
living expenses are crazy
@@alfredbshwiwwiej9 no what I’m saying is that there’s only a few reasons why you’d be working for 7.25 with a bachelors in IT. One of them being you live in some weird remote town that has no jobs. I’m very curious as to what internships you had in college and what job positions you’re applying to bc I’ve never seen a help desk job ask for minimum 3 years experience. On a side note, I hope you’re still applying to these jobs that are “entry level with 1-3 years experience” bc 90% of the time they don’t actually expect that experience.
Theres so many questions I could ask bc this just doesn’t make sense. E.g. what certs have you gotten after college, how many applications have you submitted, are your people skills bad, resume bad etc. I’m sorry but there has to be a reason why you’re making 7.25 other than “the game is fucked” and chances are it’s something that you’re doing/not doing.
@@richboii6597 I do live in a remote town that has no jobs yes. Most jobs require you to move in. And as I stated before I'm not moving to live paycheck to paycheck. I may be earning just 7 bucks but I'm keeping it whole and getting some help desk experience as well. It isn't much I knwo but the alternative is being a slave and owning nothing. Most jobs don't like remote working and the one I got at least allows that *for now*
try applying for jobs in the UK and there's no reply most of the time, apart from some automated email. So, I can't see employers really struggling to get staff.
Make sure you are calling them up in relation to your application; especially if it's a job that you do want. I called up once and found out I didn't make the cut. Another time I called up and I was put forward for interview. Otherwise you're totally right, the employers ghost their applicants, they're not struggling for staff. They want a unicorn.
There is no demand for workers, they have to pretend to be hiring
Same in US. Even one that claim to hire immediately or interview on the spot, don't. Same jobs advertised for years and years.
Marxs had excellent forethought. He knew that in the end, the ruling classes, The rich, would force more and more people who were in the capitalist class into the proletariat. This makes the proletariat get bigger and bigger and also wiser. So in the end, you'll have a violent revolution of the masses. Why? Because the rich and ruling classes pretty much kicked Everybody out except the upper ranks and made these high class and highly educated people members of the proletariat.
So in the future the proletariat has the upper hand. all of the old Intellectual might and resources that was in the bourgeoisie Class are now in the proletariat class. And they're going to help in this violent struggle to finally make a world good for all of us instead of a few people.
Slave planet
Higher education is highly toxic. This needs to be said more.
As I like to say on my channel and in real life: "Lacking makes you desperate, desperate makes you crazy, and crazy can lead to some very stupid, if not dangerous decisions and outcomes." The "Overlords" at "Evilcorp" to borrow a turn of phrase from you Millennial, need to be very careful of the lit fuses and ticking time bombs they are playing with when it pertains to rejoicing in the desperation of the "prols." Their short-term methods of exploitation might very well come back to bite them on the ass in the long-term.

Just 100 years ago, workers had more than one shooting war with their bosses. In fact, the first air strike on American soil was in 1921 in West Virginia. At the Battle of Blair Mountain.
Sadly I only have $63 in savings 😪 I'm on the job hunt while working part time
Because of "beliefs" is dumb. Turn down jobs you don't like. Have fun. You think the world is going to change because you work at a job that aligns with your beliefs? Nonsense. Forgetting for a moment how tiny a cog you are and just consider your beliefs. Beliefs change as the person changes and the world changes. It's dumb to be dumb.
Bro I feel the same thing about leaving every day. I’d even go as far as to say I think about it every minute I’m working. These places are so anti human. .
Great points said. What about wage theft?
The problem is not rich people. It's weak people.
I agree… Weak people who have adopted a victim mentality demanding a life free of responsibility.
Yes. Weak people who inherited daddy's money and then live off of everyone else's work while paying them barely anything.

I'm looking for an international remote job so I can flee the USA... time to go, it only gets worse from here...
Just go to work, follow directions, and be happy. Help get the company to record profits. Thus the baby boomers, and other stock holders are happy. You want your parents and grand parents to have excess money don't you. Do your time get a portfolio of stocks and then it will be your turn to receive dividends. The American dream for young workers has been pushed back. Now it might take until your 40 to get that house. And disposable income is scarce for most young people and it sucks. But with out union representation your just a number and will have to take what compensation you can negotiate. Most corporations are always looking for better faster cheaper help. Example a 22 year with degree, working for 22,000 a year as an intern, working 22 hours a day between office and home.
I think the problem with the slave class is that, unlike the cow, chicken, pig, etc. You cant breed them to fit the plantations needs. You can breed a chicken to produce eggs even if its sick and miserable.
You cant breed the proper prol as of right now.
Something about rights and not being ethical. I know this has not stopped them from trying in history (look at any super soldier project) but, they have to deal with us slaves free breeding and making worse options for them.
Im sure they will soon make laws that some people can, should, and cannot freely go behind the tacobell.
Either that or they will do what the failed ussr did and just force people to do jobs till they die (weather or not they can do it) and then put them in a hole when they no longer work.
I mean hell, look at what California is doing with people who want to leave the state... Maybe the intent is to punish the wealthy tax cheats and scammers, but ultimately, it's going to hurt the prols who live and work there to survive day-by-day.
The glue factory is the retirement home of the prol
of course you should not work for corporations
Im getting desperate Ms im going to apply for any minimum wage job i can get I can't live like this much longer.

Curious to hear what you think is causing our poverty, MS! Name it! There is power in naming a problem. It is often the first step to solving them.
J... J... Joo... Nvm I'll get shadowbanned again.
Judgement Day is coming.
The unions today are no different from the corporations themselves. We had the teamsters try to takeover out hangar and some of the (secretly) most anti-union employees I met were *former teamsters* I was putting up posters against the union and passing out literature, and they were covertly congratulating me and saying they were *too afraid* to speak out against them. I was a low level employee, btw, not management.
Here in Illinois, my mother used to work for the colleges and since it was not a right to work state, the teachers union never did anything to help the grievances of her co workers and faculty members from the schools actions. There was no incentive to help the workers because you either joined the union or *you didn't work.* The union just took their dues and let them fend for themselves.
Bai Lan Lie Flat USA
Oh please. Y’all lay off people who don’t tolerate harassment from higher ups so I just don’t have sympathy. And I’m a millennial so it’s not just gen z
So it’s not just about having no money to “save” you have a job to afford a certain quality of life, if having a job doesn’t allow you to have a certain quality of life than what is the point of having a job, for me personally, I’d rather be poor than only survive to support someone else’s quality life while I’m expected to give up my quality of life to support their inflated quality life. I’d rather be broke and find a way to be happy than be subservient.
We literally live to support the ungrateful old people and the minorities across the globe. I wish we spoke German.
Because you need income to support even a low quality of life.
Save a Life, don't drink the Kool-Aid and drive😅

To be honest I have not liked sweet anything since I was a kid. Adulthood made me bitter

That's why I left USA. USA imperialism has failed and now the military state will cannibalize itself.
The UBI generation. Doped up, living in parent's basement and play on Tik Tok all day.
haha lol now you sound dumb lol. we arent gonna slave away everyday for no reason. i want a good life not a life of slavery. you are sadly too propanged to believe that we are lazy i work two jobs and im college. its still not enough so yea id rather be doped up
You do know that UBI is one of the most capitalist things you can implement, right? Granted, most people who speak in favor of "capitalism" wouldn't know what it was if it slapped them across the ass and said "Yo bitch what that mouf do?"
If you like things like food… You have to work! It’s that easy!
And you think that's right? Because your survival should be tied to a corporation?
@@zblumenfeld I work for a large corporation, and I do quite well for myself. I do well based on my ability in what I do and my ability to negotiate my compensation.
