Ek civic build (ep6) how to swap 90s Honda seats into any civic, integra, RD1 cr-v using this method

- By swapping the seat rails you can bolt in several different oem seats from different honda models into your civic/integra. this was my first attempt at putting 97-01 crv seats into a civic.

I got lucky and found them without the arm rest! The interior was spotless! Soni grabbed the seats. Cluster. Steering wheel with bag. And a hybrid cluster. For $110... No one is bear me otherwise I'd say come pick here ha dude doesn't care! B20b engine $300 is there waiting! They pull it...

I absolutely love them in the civic, and I recently found a passenger side seat with the built in arm rest. I just have to give it a deep clean and swap it in once it warms up some and quits raining so much 😅
How did it go with this method? I'm planning on trying this in my wagon in a couple days, the seat parts look different on the wagon seats but I'm hoping it's still close enough to bolt right up

That's a good choice! I really like the 94-01 Integra, and 97-01 prelude seats.
I am loving it! Would it apply on the CIVIC EK HATCH? Would be so kind to take the photos of the underneath part of the seat after you install it? Need to know what did you install on the crv metal slider to civic? You mentioned some plastics
The crv plastic trim pieces come off the seat in two pieces, and I only used the top part. As far as the metal slider on the outer most brackets there’s a bolt a stud/nut combo (only Two fasteners) that hold the slider to the seat bracket. The inner bracket with slider are held on by three bolts. One where the seat folds in half and two directly into the side of the bottom seat pan. If need be I can go into more details in another video just breaking down how the seats are held together.

The rear seats are in pretty good condition and never get used, so they'll get steam cleaned and I'll call it a day 😆
Weird question but do you know if I can take the civic rails and put em on my crv seats and bolt it into my crv. I want to get the seats down about 2 inches.
That's a great question! Are you talking about the first generation 97-01 crv? If so I'll double check to see if the ek seat brackets will bolt into the RD1 chassis.
Front seats look amazing I’m planning on doing that myself. Did you do the back seats as well?
Thanks man! I only did the front seats because the rear seats were still in very good condition, but using a set of rear crv seats to match the front pattern exactly is a great idea. That might be a fun future project.

Hey, would the CRV seats fit without changing the rails to the lower civic rails? My girlfriend is 5'1" and a taller seat height with better seats that don't hurt our lower backs on long drives would be nice to have. Please let me know when you have a chance. Basically, having taller seats and more lower back support would be nice.
I'm not sure if they'll bolt straight in or not, but since I found a passenger side crv seat with the armrest attached I'll have to swap that seat out anyway. I'll make a video addressing the subject once the weather cooperates, so I can clean & dry the new seat before putting it in.

@@sharkparty1027 personally I find the 96-00 civic seats to be very uncomfortable, and the 96-01 crv seats are much better. However a set of 97-01 prelude si or sh, or 92-95 civic seats are my favorite!
@@the710experiment84 97 Cvic LX here. Long drives and your back starts to ache a little. Just planning ahead to swap them out when I have a chance.
The Civic seats are not as bad as the S2000 seats though. They will make you stiff as a board.

To be honest I didn't even check, but the 2000 crv seats I put in with the ek rails sits you up a little higher than the ek seats did.

I'm not sure if the fit platform uses the same basic seat pan as the civic/delsol/integra/prelude, but if I ever find a clean set of black Honda Fit seats for a reasonable price I plan to find out.

The Cr-V armrests are the best part of the seats. I feel lost when my armrest isn't down. So comfortable, I've driven 6-7hrs comfortably using cruise control
Yes it is the CR-V Picknick table from my other daily. 1998 ex CR-V rt4wd 5 speed with the Greddy a/c power steering compatible turbo kit slightly modified to fit the chassis.
And I must agree with you the cruise control on the CR-V combined with the comfortable interior makes for a great road trip car!
sorry im confused is this swap supposed to make you sit lower or higher? im a tall guy and ran into this vid trying to figure out how i can getlower seat profile
It doesn't really affect the height of the seats when you keep the ek brackets/rails and sliders. The only lower sitting seats I know of are delsol seats, and that's only if you keep the delsol rails and sliders. You'll have to modify the mounting positions in the car to use them but that will lower you a few inches over all the other seats.
so, with this method i can lower my crv seat, right?
I haven't tried to bolt them back into a crv with the ek rails, but it's very possible that it would work knowing how honda parts interchange so much.

Quick question would the seat 💺 fit if I already have the center console from ex in my hatch?
I don't think so unless you use a set of crv seats that don't have the built in arm rests.
Have recently bought a pair of s2k seats for my crz. Doubtful this method applies, advice is helpful.
Unfortunately I haven't had any experience with the crz seats, but the way Honda is it wouldn't surprise me if if was very similar to the rest of their seat pans and rails. The only way to know is to take one of each apart and see if they'll swap over. I always start with the passenger seat, so I don't leave the drivers seat in pieces just in case I have to drive the car.

I haven't personally done a seat swap in an ef civic, but it's supposed work.

I think it would be pretty cool to do the rear crv seats. Fortunately the rear seats in the car are in great condition, so I probably won't try tackling that any time soon.
I got these CRV seats putting them in my 1997 civic ex do I need to change anything?
If you do exactly what I did in the video by removing the spacer between the sliders and the seat pan, and use the civic sliders it'll bolt right into the 96-00 civic.

Once you take the spacer out of the crv seats and it's on civic rails it will sit about the same height as the stock seats. You might not notice much if the civic seats were in good condition, but if the civic seats were worn bad to begin with it might sit up a little higher.

How did you get the two adjustment knobs off?
With a small flat screwdriver or a hook pick is the way I get them off. There's a small c clip you have to get from the back side. It's almost identical to the clip that holds on the manual window crank handles.
Would 94-01 integra rear seats fit into 96 civic ej8 coupe?
They will fit, but you have to use integra hatchback tops, and a sedan bottom so there's no big gaps on the sides of the bottom.

I reused both civic brackets to make the crv seats fit properly.

Yes it's the same for the eg seats, and several others.

Absolutely! I did a set of dc2 seats in my old ek hatch by changing the rails just like this.
Can you still fold the front crv seat flat?
You can get pretty close with the headrest off, but it's not quite as flat as in the crv.
Are you able to swap them out with any honda civic seats ?
Yeah. Pretty much any 90s Honda seats will swap around Pretty much this easily.

Yeah the crv seats from 97-01 will fit in the 96-00 ek chassis with the seat rails from your ek on the crv seats just like what I did in the video.

You think it would work in an EF sedan?
I've never personally done this in an ef chassis, but I would imagine it would be the same process for them too.
Its a bitch on the ef to get anything in there that it didn't come out of native. All the rails are a little different between efs.
The best bet doing anything other than ef sedan seats in and ef is custom rails.
I'm going to try to get RD1 seats in my ef but I think it's gonna be custom rails.
Rd1 seats fit well in an ek bc it's basically the same car.

I decided against doing crv rear seats because the ek seats I have are in really good condition, but if they ever get trashed I have a set of rear crv seats just in case.

@@RiverasHotWheels unfortunately the crv rear seats bolt in differently than the civics so it would be a major undertaking to do that swap without fabrication experience and special equipment like a welding machine, drills, and grinder at very least.

Luckily I'm 5'6" and the regular height seats don't bother me at all, but I can see it being a problem if you're taller.
How did you remove the cushion pulleys that inflatable the seat pads ?
There's a C- clip on the back side of them just like the manual window cranks have.

Yeah I put the 2001 CR-V front seats in a 2000 civic cx hatchback.

Yes the 96-00 civic (Dx, Cx, Lx, Ex, Hx, Gx, and Si ) EJ & EM1 are the same as the EK rails.

Make sure they're marked s04 on them somewhere to verify they're actually ek/ej rails
