Today we take a look at the CNC P6, a tattoo machine that claims you can adjust the stoke of your machine from 3 to 4 mm. I set off to see if this is true or not... or at least if it seems true or not. After trying a liner, shader and a mag I can honestly say that it is not a Gimmick at all. I could deff see running at 3mm for shading and round 4mm to get the color packed in nicely all while using the same machine. With a price point under $200 its hard to bear.
Hope you all enjoyed the video and if you did give it up a thumbs up and consider subscribing!!

I have been tattooing for 15 months now and I've never been inlove with what I do. Tattooing has saved me from a lot of trouble and has brought so much happiness and abundance to my life, I am looking forward for more years to come.
The struggle I have is having no one to teach me stuff, since the beginning I've been self-taught and I honestly feel I'd be alot better had I been mentored by someone. That's why I am a consistent viewer of your channel and you've been a lifesaver for me for a lot of times since my first week of tattooing.

I have been tattooing for almost 9 months now and at first I was struggling with shaky hands from nerves and one pass lines but with the help of your videos I learned to find the right voltage for my machine and hand speed and I got the confidence to pull a line from point a to point b I can’t thank you enough a number of your videos have helped me a lot from all the materials I needed and even how to bag my machine and be sanitary also finding right layer of skin also color packing and much more so again thank you very much for everything I have learned

  • @lunainlimbo
    @lunainlimbo Před 2 lety +2

I've been in an apprenticeship for 1.5years and tattooing for roughly 4 months (in and out of Covid lockdowns).
My biggest problem in tattooing has been internal struggles. Imposter syndrome and anxiety have taken the better of me at times and it's really taken a toll on my self-esteem and confidence. I realise that it's something that I will probably have to work on for the rest of my career, but damn it brings a heap of shadow stuff to the surface very quickly in an "old school" apprenticeship. Discipline, determination and constant learning is what's guiding me forward. Your videos and guides have been a saviour for me and you don't realise how big of an inspiration you are to new artists.
You deserve great things and it's brilliant watching your progression, passion and drive.
Thankyou! Keep up the great work!
    Luna

I started tattooing as a kid back in 1965,, doing a needle and thread with india ink on myself. When I was in the service, a friend showed me how to build prison style machine. Got out of it for years but then the last years I have really gotten into it again. I currently have a cheap coil machine. I am right handed but I have been trying to use my left for tattooing as well. It's a challenge.

I've been tattooing for about a year and a half. I have been watching your videos from the get go. They are a huge help, and i can't thank you enough. You are awesome! My biggest struggle so far has been packing in solid color. Half the time my color packing seems to have a pattern in it and doesn't look uniform. I also have trouble getting a good stretch on fattier skin, so its hard to really get the ink in there. Thats probably a mixture of my technique and my shitty amazon tattoo kit machine. I've read quite a bit about these cnc machines, and i think having one would really help me get better end results with my tattooing. Hopefully luck is shining down on me and i win this. I feel like an apprenticeship is a pipe dream, but having the proper equipment (like this machine) and more practice could turn that pipe dream into a reality. Thanks again for all the great videos!

I have been tattooing around 8 months. Every time I pick up my machine I find myself getting a bit better. I have got my blood borne pathogens certification and have done as much research about safety and the art as I possibly can, huge shout out to you! Though it is difficult for me to afford a very nice machine like this, I do the best with what I have! (Amazon rotary) Between family and friends everyone is excited to watch me grow and get better each time they have been so very supportive. I would say my biggest problem is getting those deep rich one pass lines in. Sometimes I hit it beautifully depending on the person and sometimes I just can't seem to get it. This may be due to the stroke of my machine, persons skin, hand speed, etc. Still learning and making adjustments every chance that I get. Thankful for your videos, you ROCK!

I have been getting tattoos for years, especially during my military time. finally decided one day, about 7 months ago, im going to give this a try. ordered up some cheap POS old school style and started on fake skin and fruit. Bought a dragonhawk mast with just the plugin about a month into it. started investing in ink and watching videos to help get better. I have definitely not come close to reaching my full potential, if i ever will. However i still have issues with the lines sometimes where one line can look like its different size needles being used. I still sometimes go to deep when packing color. But its a work in progress as always. regardless of the give away, I appreciate everything you do and all the help youve been to people such as myself. It is greatly appreciated brother. Hi Dave,
I been tattooing since 2019. I´m a self-taught person. No aprenticeship, no mentors. Just downloaded books, free courses and valuable tips from a few tattoo artists like you and others from Spain in youtube, for what I´m very grateful.
Beginning last year I developed a Dequervain's tenosynovitis on the wrist of my tattoo hand doing some exercises in the gym that has disabled me for over a year. Now I´m taking the machines again to practice on fake skin and on my own flesh (and blood).
My major strugle is to make perfect straight lines (don´t ask me for an arrow o geometric figures), and somethimes, make a solid color packing. I think that because I have not yet mastered the needle depth.
That adjustable stroke pen look very interesting. I´d like to try it.
    Greetings. Semper Fi.

I've been tattooing for about 4-5 months now consistently.. and I think the thing I struggle with the most is shading and deciding which needles are best for the shading piece I'm doing whether a mag is the way to go or a round shader, as well as speed. Living in a small town in Ontario, there aren't many people or places to reach out to for tips and tricks, so your channel has definitely been my holy grail from the start! So many tattoo artists have that old school mentality where everything has to be some big secret and competition with one an other.. so I can't even express how much I appreciate your channel!! These videos help keep me motivated, and practicing different techniques until I can start taking appointments again. The videos are a gold mine of information, thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world.

Hey! Thank you very much for your work! It helps me a lot. It was actually the first channel about tattoos that I’ve followed. I’ve been practicing on a fake skin for about 10 months. I started my apprenticeship two month ago. And so far I’ve done three tattoos. At the moment, pretty much everything is hard for me😹 but maybe the most I struggle with are: lettering and realistic style

8 months ago, I started getting into tattooing. Quickly I noticed how many people tattoo directly on skin and thereby ruin the skin of their friends. So I started with the basics for 7 months now. Drawing, drawing, drawing.. all the needle configurations, needle depth, hygiene, ink & colors, voltage, machines and equipment, after care, how to set up a workstation, different shading techniques etc. oh and ofc drawing every free minute. With all this knowledge, I ordered 6 kg of reel-skin and will now practice lines, circles and different simple shapes until I'm confident enough to take the next step - shading. My biggest struggle is to be patient and not skip a step :)
Love your videos - greetings from Germany

I always had a weak body but my dad passed away very early so i had to work, worked on an engine repair shop, tried barbers, worked on coffe shops but i always had passion on art and especially tattoing. I started doing tattoos to my friends at first (warned them about my lack of experience) and posted them on social media, 8 months ago my current boss called me and offered me a job at his tattooshop and so i am now working at my dream job.

Hey man great videos. Ur always straight point on things. Ur videos have helped me on things more & I'm pretty sure helped others. I've been tattooing for a little over 1yr now since I finished my apprenticeship. So I'm still kinda fresh I guess u could say. My struggle is doing portraits. I've not been ballsy enough to tattoo them & that's good cause when I draw them I always manage to screw up somehow & someway. Being the shading or setting the eyes right or whatever. It sucks. I have 1 guy at the shop who always say portraits aren't for everyone. Everybody else keeps saying to work on it, keep trying, never give up, & they give me pointers & tips. I'm starting to sometimes believe the 1 guy though. Again ur videos are great man & I'll keep watching.

I have been tattooing since I was like 15 off and on but as a legitimate business for just over a year and moved my family my family of 5 children to a different city in order to start my own business and I'm almost 40. Also in my first year I was voted #1 best tattoo shop in Saskatoon by the community. My biggest problem I have is always having to remind myself to slow down and stay consistent. I love your videos and love how you don't get sucked into the shitty side of the industry and let your head blow up and stay humble. Thank you for what you do.

Hi there!! I’m just starting out as an artist, and have found your videos super helpful. I grew up with both parents having tattoos, but my dad was on the edgier side of life. We used to always chill and work on his Harley together. For the holidays, probably next year since I’m just starting, I really want to be able to give him a piece of art that he will love. My biggest struggle in tattooing is dealing with my mental state. There are days when I feel confident about my work, but other times I beat myself up over the smallest things. I’m working on it ☺️

    Hey Dave,
Haven’t been on in a while, however still love your content. Been tattooing for about 6 years but have only tattooed myself and my wife. The struggle I have the most is needle choice. I tend to choose a little heavy on myself, as in a 9rl at least because I tend to go bold outline. However on my wife I have the tendency to choose a 3-5rl for lining and if I need to go bolder I’ll scumble to build it up. There is much in the way of needles in between and I have even used 9rs for some lettering on my wife because she wanted a good bold letter, and the single pass made it quick and easy. Thanks for your service and your help with tattooing!!

I got my first gun around 18 years ago and realized it definitely isn't as easy as thought.. i road the struggle bus for about 6 months and decided maybe a apprenticeship would help...... i found a willing retired stat trooper turned tattoo artist "with only one tattoo on his body" that was looking for a apprentice. He wanted $100 per two day class so i jumped in and forked over the little cash i had. Day one was cleaning and organizing his shop..... day two he talked about how I'm gonna learn and what each of his classes were about...??? So after paying him $100 for nothing i decided to figure it out myself. This was short lived. I just recently started again with the help of CZcams, thank you btw for posting all the instructional videos it helps a ton. My struggles would be holding depth and that is killing my consistency when lining it's definitely getting better with time but i am my worst critic. Thanks again for all the help.

I have been practicing tattooing on myself (running out of reachable space 😂) my boyfriend and fake skin for approx a little over a year. I have come leaps and bounds due to your tutorials and other references out there. Thank you for what you do! You are very humble and cool which people love. The FB tattoo group that I am part of recommends you often. With that said, I am using a Dragonhawk Mast Pen. It's ok. I have been drooling over other pens but you know...money. I'd say my biggest struggle right now is packing color. I have this Care Bear that I did that my kids make fun of. The outline was great. The color originally I thought was good but it all fell out in patches. My kids call it the blood bear as he looks like he was shaved and has patches of flesh. 😂 so I watched your shading tutorial again where you did the cross on your leg and then tackled the head of blood bear. It looks better still not 100% but I'm determined.

I want to give my family of 5 the best me i possibly can, and tattooing is something they've always supported and pushed me to get into because they know ive always wanted to. My wife made a work area for me and the kids made me wall art to motivate me lol. Working a day job and then trying to put in a solid hour or two of practice a day is my daily goal. But again. Sometimes you just can't. I might get there slower than some. But i know along with this amazing community and family im a part of along with commitment and sacrifice I will get there.

The rotary machine is quite heavy at the back end where the motor is. I also have trouble with shading with a mag at different angle because of the weight of the machine. The machine keeps trying to turn the angle of the needles on me. Your videos are so helpful. I learn a lot from them.

I've been tattooing for a little less than a year maybe 10 months or so just got my full technician license from my state 2 months ago, I really enjoy color neotraditional tattoos I feel very comfortable with different line weights and working with solid black and color, even packing and blending colors like white yellow and skintones, but sometimes when I tattoo some more black and gray realistic style without using opaque grays so only using solid black and gray washes I feel like the contrast isn't as good as it could be, so I'm not as happy with it as my other tattoos I do, I still think they look professional and everything but I also feel like they are not as dynamic as they could be, I really enjoy your videos by the way I feel like you helped me with things my mentors didn't touch on

Hi, iv'e been tattooing for about three months now and I'd have to say my problem is depth. Sometimes I get it right and then sometimes I go too light. Currently I own traditional coil machines which are a pain to set up sometimes. I greatly appreciate your videos as they have taught me most of what I know about tattooing.
