- ✅The CNC Q2 Tattoo Machine review! Is it still worth buying after a YEAR of CONSTANT use?? Welcome and in today's video we are going to be talking about the CNC Q2 short pen, that is made by Hawink. I'm going to go over why I chose to buy this machine a year ago and how its performed over the year. We will discuss the PROs and the CONs to this machine and the company that produces it. Ss a spoiler I will tell you this machine has been nothing but good to me and for the money I dont think you could go wrong picking one of these machines up for under 200 dollars. I think its a great starting point for those looking for a solid machine with out breaking the bank.
I like to remind people that In no way am I a fantastic tattoo artist guys. I just love tattooing but I am still on my journey and want to show you how its done so you can do it and do it better then me!! 🤘
So don't give up if you want it bad enough its yours for the taking!

Currently have this in my cart because you’re honestly the only reputable source I can find and so much more informative.
Same here lmao. Jono Smith is good too. But I did grab this machine simply because of this man lol
@@treehouseconstituents6402 I’ll definitely check them out!
The tattoo guy is good
Could never ask for a better teacher like you
I've been using my CNC Q2 just after you got yours. and it has not disappointed. terrific machine
As a beginner tattoo artist, your videos have helped me so much. I have gone so well on stippling and lining all thanks to you :D You have taught me so much and I hope to learn more from you in the other videos you make! You're my literal inspiration right now for wanting to keep tattooing, so thank you. Keep rocking! :D :D
I’m new to tattooing and I absolutely love it. I’ve been drawing tattoos for my family and friends for years. I love your channel and your videos. Keep up the great content !
I’ve been an artist for 10 years now and I’m planning on being a tattoo artist but I gotta save up to buy all the materials to start practicing and get started you’ve been so helpful
Awesome good to see real artists are interested in joining the industry, with you best of luck!
@@yordanovarts.3442 thank youuu so much
YES MAN! YES!
I love my Cnc Q2. I purchased it after watching your review. Thanks for all of your advice as well. You do an amazing job.!!!
I started to learn to tattoo in 2017 but i was not financially stable to continue and left it in the end of 2017 until i started again last year August 2020 and i am learning so much at a fast rate and your videos are a big help for me as well as i continue my journey to be come a great tattoo artist thank you 💉💪🏼🤘🏼💯
Thank you for your videos and input you have made my decision of getting a pen machine I've ran coils for last 20 years thank you very much
these things truly reminds me of vape mods that we used to have, CONGRATS on getting to 100K!!! We are all so proud of you
Hahah right it feels very similar in that there are tons of options, they all do different things yet they all still do the same thing LOL!! So yeah pretty similar for sure. Thanks again RELLIK really really cant thank you enough for being such a big support for so long. Respect!! 🤘🙏💪🤘
Congratulations on the 100k subs man thank you for all your help your advice has been the most helpful. Thanks from Alabama!!
Love you videos!! Keep them coming and looking forward to your giveaway! 😁 Super helpful and full of knowledge!
I can second the cartridges not fitting 100% sometimes, I thought it was my cartridges but hearing it from you too I think it may be the machine. I never feel unsafe using it but it just doesn’t have that super satisfying click occasionally. That being said, it works so well I have no reason to stop using it for the level of tattooing I’m doing
My CNC-Q2 just came in a few days ago! Looking forward to try it out this weekend, great tip thankyou Dave!
I am a seasoned artist and really enjoy watching your reviews over other more in depth and for the everyman
Thank you my friend I really appreciate that. 🤘🙏🤘
Just started practicing tattooing with a coil machine. I love it and I love your videos. I cant wait til I have enough money to get the CNC Q2!
Great unbiased commentary ,thank you.
I just love tattoos, and now I started to practice and study tattooing from you vedios.thank a lot sir .
Thats great to hear Athul!! And I wish you the very best of luck as you continue down this awesome journey!! And im happy to know the channel is helping you out!! Keep at it and Keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘
I just got mine and did a thigh Tattoo and it was a great experience with it no problems. Love the information you give on your channel I look forward to everyone of them keep up the great content
Thats awesome to hear Michael!! Glad it was a great experience. And thank you so much for the support really appreciate it. Keep working hard and keep rocking my friend!! 🤘🤘
Watching you over the last months working with the CNC Q2 made me think quite a bit about picking up a pen aswell man.
I usally use Coil Machines as my go to but got myself a semi direct drive one last year. From what you said about the machine and what you like, that could maybe suit you too, if you are interested I use the Stigma-Rotary® Hyper V3 as my go to Rotary. (They also got the V4 now but that one sucks). Can only recommand it.
Great video as always and already congrats in advance to the 100k man, you deserve it for sure !
You have been having me want one of cnc q2 for a long time. Good luck to the lucky one. I’m going to get one when I get my taxes back.love your videos. Your awesome. Thank you so much. Have a amazing day. Looking forward to more videos.
Yeah the Q2 is a great machine for the price and a solid machine for those looking to get into tattooing without braking the bank. And I look forward to hearing how you like the Q2. Thanks for the support Holly we really appreciate it and you have an amazing day as well!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you for everything bro u have helped me alot with scratching bro love ur vids!!
Man I would love to have one of those machines, I just had to go with a $70 model and it's been running ok but I know those machines will be smoother. Love the show and your info! You've helped me a lot bud
Just ordered mine can’t wait to use it.
It would be dope to use, I love how short it looks even with the power adapter. Im using a dragon hawk machine with the cord.. Its nice but I'd love to compare the 2 specially if you have nothing but love for that. Congrats on 100k brotha keep up those positive vibes, loving it!
I started tattooing 6 years ago, I began with coils machine, 2 years ago I bought the cncq2 for trying pen style and I loved it. It was just the begenning, now I run with the cheyenne hawk pen, the cheyenne hawk thunder and spirit, few month ago I bought a wireless pen I loved it too and now my go to set up are cheyenne hawk pen, EZ filter V2 and a new brand AMBITION how product some very good pen and wireless battery. Thank's for your video it's very informative
Love the Q2! Awesome update video Dave!
Awesome to hear your loving the Q2 as well!! And thank you Seb really appreciate the support my friend!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you for your year review. I've been trying to decided on a different machine from my current.
No problem Marylee. I think for the money this machine is a really solid machine. Sure there are other machines that do it better but again for the price its hard to beat. 🤘
I love this machine it’s so awesome thanks to you
So happy to hear your loving this machine as its been great for me as well!! 🤘
Ill definitely be waiting and watching for a giveaway! You rock man. Thanks for all your advice
Best videos on youtube for tattooing
Thanks for the info man, I've been using the Cheyenne Spirit for years and just recently bought the Thunder since my lining was having trouble on thicker skin.. but now I want a pen style machine for the convenience of wrapping it easier. I checked out your bishops review which ive been thinking about getting but with this recent purchase ( about a month ago) i might save the cash and go with this one
I ordered the CNC Q2 and my lines are so much better. It’s so light. Lol. I did order a battery but ordered the wrong one so I have to return the battery and get the right one. Got the wrong type of plug on it. But it’s so cute and light. It’s crazy. There’s like no crazy vibration like the coil machine I have. It’s awesome. Thanks for doing a review and keep up the awesome work. Thanks again.
Good info, thanks man!
Awesome Videos! You've helped me tremendously as a beginner! Keep it up Man!
Thank you so much Korri!! I really appreciate the support and im happy to hear the channel has been able to help you out along the way! Keep working hard and KEEP ROCKING!! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks for the info... Saving up for one
NO problem Krushaff! I hope your able to get one of these as I believe its a solid machine specially for the money. 🤘
Cnc q2 is getting me started! I know nothing! It seems like a decent unit, good beginner gun. Granted I've only just did my 8th tat. Easy to use and seems comfortable.
Great to hear the Q2 is treating you well. And I agree its a great machine for those looking to get into tattooing or for those who want to try a rotary pen machine but dont want to brake the bank.
Bonsoir. C'est grâce à vous que j'ai acheté cette machine. Elle est géniale. Merci encore !!!!!
Man thanks for the great honest reviews!
I'm currently having a hard time decoding between the cbd q2, art tour pro and bronc v10 or v8
Any thoughts?
Just bought a ton of supplies from the links in your bio the other day, hopefully you get some good commission! Definitely the least I could do for all the invaluable information.
Thank you Jordyn I appreciate you supporting the channel like that. And im happy to hear
the channel is helping you out and providing solid information! Keep Rocking and Thanks again for the support!! 🤘🤘
I just bought one based on your use and review of it. I love!! I've been using Dragon Hawk machines for the first year I've been tattooing. The Q2 gets ink in the skin so much faster, lines and packs black so well. Thank you
Thats awesome to hear Rhyno, really glad your enjoying the machine! I agree it does a great
job of lining, packing and shading all for under 200 dollars, so in my opinion you cant go wrong. I wish you the best of luck as you continue with the Q2!! ANd Keep Rocking!! 🤘🤘🤘
I plan to buy one of those after I get a little money coming in again. Right now I use the dragon hawk mast and it’s pretty smooth I also have a solong machine that works just as good and I prefer because the depth is clicked in as opposed to the mast which is just one smooth turn. I’ve been following you for a while and have watched a lot of your videos, thank you for being so open with all the info you provide and not being a “tattoo snob. 😂
Its really great see those machines, hope i had one.
I just started getting back into tattooing after a 6 year hiatus due to many things but my old coil machines aren't working anymore (imagine that) so I'm glad I found your videos but I can't find the CNC- Q2 and was wondering if you knew anything about the CNC-Q3? I dont know if I should get the Q3 or continue searching for the Q2 would love to hear your thoughts. Also I'm blown away by how much more info there is out there than there used to be, I'm currently binge watching your channel, you make everything so easy and informative and I really appreciate it!
I started last year. Unfortunately bought a $70 wish kit with bad fake ink, (tried to use 1x ) never tattooed with it.I bought the Dragonhawk Mast Tour kit on amazon. $130.00. I've done 1 really good tattoo and the rest not so much. I'm hoping the CNC Q2 will give me the stability and quality for me to start producing great quality tattoos even though having quality tattoo equipment is just one element to giving a good quality tatt.Time will tell. Ty for your advice Art Something as you help me through my tattoo journey.Much Respect.😊😊😌💯💯💯
Thanx so much for your videos, i am not an english native speaker but i understand everything and your videos are so helpful and motivating so far. I totally stand at the beginning and there is still much to learn. I can only afford an old coilmaschine yet. Did you give the cncq2 already away? Go on with your videos, your great and funny, too
Another great vid and a fantastic give away fair play to ya keep up the good work thank you for the chance stay safe all
Super good to hear. I’ve been using the CNC q2 ever since your first review. Which lubricant do you use?
Good review, thanks a lot!!
Been running the q5 for about a year, I put some automotive wheel bearing grease on the motor and plunger, so buttery!
Love the whole channel! I’ve been practicing for 3 weeks from watching your videos and tattooed myself yesterday! Would love to send you the tat see what you think
Currently using a hawkin, as my first pen style, never used any thing other then coils up untill a month ago when i statted my apprentiship....youve been quite the inspirayion as im learning id realy love to get in on the give away.
It's difficoult to get the CNC Q2 in Poland ;(. I'm waithing now to go for a tatto course and than for an aprenticeship in one of the studios in Warsaw. Love your vids they are the most packed in knowledge and helped me a lot
Good video. It's nice of you to give things to someone. I wonder what kind of machin you get, Bishop! We'll see, cao.
Thanks Bostjan! And yeah I would rather see these machines get used and appreciated then just sit in a drawer in my desk. As far as what machine I got.... I think your on to something. 🤘🤘🤘
I have the CNC Q1, and it runs great. However, I've been running the Axys Valhalla for about 3 months now and I'm in love with it!
Cool to hear the Q1 is a solid running machine as well. I have not used the Valhalla but I hear its a great machine with a lot of adjustability. And thanks again for the support my friend!! 🤘🤘🤘
Agree I really like the valhalla
I love your videos bro
Got this machine on Amazon for $118, cyber Monday deal, excited to try it. Your videos are my guide to tattooing, super helpful thank you! Do you have a video though or maybe if you could go over the steps and how to lubricate the machine? I have no idea what supply I would use nor have I heard of doing that tbh, I’m afraid I’ll be missing out lol
Thank you for this
Love your videos man can’t wait for the give away
Thanks Fanklin!! And the giveaway should be coming up in a week or so. 🤘
I had the same issue with carts sticking in my Axys Valhalla grips... My fix was to put a small amount of Vaseline inside the grip.
hey Great video! like always! I have 2 questions.
Is it okay to have a machine such as the CNC Q2 with no adjustable stroke compared to a machine like the MAST Flip where you can adjust the stroke up to 4.0mm?
I've never owned a tattoo rotary pen so dont mind my niaveness lol. Is it OK to have a pen machine with the disposable needle cartridges, what is it the likely hood of cross contamination from the cartridge to the machine? is there special ways to clean the pen machines? thanks!
just commenting for algorithm, awesome video!
HAHA I LOVE IT!! Thanks Santiago much appreciated!! 🤘🤘🤘
I've used a huckspaulding machine for years but watched your videos and decided to purchase the cnc my first tattoo with it was smooth.
I do want to explore more Wireless machines as well do you have a recommendation on one that's $1000 or under?
My friend, first of all, thank you very much for all your videos, you help us many and if you recommend this machine for thick lines but I want to give it the 4 mm stroke, I don't know what you think, thank you very much🙏🏼❤️🔥
Thanks for the info! Very curious about switching to a wireless power pen type machine. They seem pretty cool.
I felt a little hesitant switching to wireless at first as well. I guess we just get really use to the foot pedal and cord that moving to wireless just seems strange. However I am very happy that I went wireless and can not see going back from here. I guess its not for everyone but its deff for me!
I'm not very educated on the lubrication process and I have the mast tour pen it would be great if you did a video on that I've had mine for a couple months
Great info great tips, and all super useful Info thank you
Thank you Nol!! Im glad you enjoyed the video and Thank you for the support!! 🤘🤘
Not a problem keep it up, and if I ever was interested in sending you fake skin for your fake skin submissions do you take parcels from Canada? I'm not great yet but getting there and just picking a machine up again my self like a month ago after not tattooing for almost 5 years just felt right.
sir does this machine hits enough for color packing? what voltage do you use for color packing and lining?thanks a lot!🙏🙏🙏
Try bronc v9 from hummingbird.
nice video 🍻
Love yoir reviews. As a comparison which CNC rotary machine in your experience is best for neo trad - black & grey tattoos? I'm debating between the Q2 or the WE but which one would you recommend or suggest a different model. I've just started my apprenticeship last week and in need of a good reliable machines & hoping for one that can do lines, shade & pack in 1 machine if possible. Thanks in advance 🖤💀🙏
What wireless battery/power supply are you using as well?
What kind of battery were you using before the switch to the critical power supply
Hello! What do you recommend for wireless battery to go with it?
YES! the direct drive motor where the bar that hits the needle cartridges..... this came off the pin inside mine. How can I fix that?????? This is exactly what my issues were
give aways too? Lol you're rad dude keep it up. 100k Subs ^_____^ you deserve it
What kind of lubricant do you use for the internal parts and oring?
Did you notice a difference in the performance of the cmcq2 when you switched power supplies ?
I’m looking to upgrade from my starter machine. Do I buy this or hold out awhile longer for the inkjecta flight nano? I feel I’m at the point that my machine and needle quality are holding me back some
Hey! I have the q2 i dont thinm its putting the ink good that well i do fine line b&g. Iam thinking about getting the wand packer, i no your moving your wands do you honsetly see a big differnt between the 2 machines? Thank you
Do you lube up the shift when you first got it or no?
Needed this positivity today. Im in the Midwest and we have had -20 to -30 Temps. I had a pipe burst in my shop last night and all my supplies were unsalvageable. Its been a hard day. Thinking about getting a CNC-Q2 to replace my cheyenne that was lost in the water ♡
OH WOW sooo Sorry to hear about that.... 🤔. I'm from the midwest as well and I know how bad those cold temps can get and its just really sad to hear everything is unsalvageable. With that said the CNC-Q2 is a great option at a decent price. It runs differently then the Cheyenne as its more punchy due to it being a direct drive, but I think you should really enjoy it. Again really sorry to hear about your day Mandii, I sure hope things start to look up.
I bought a cncq2 on your recommendation but haven’t used it yet. I’ve been using a Bronc short pen which I’m just so used to, it has all the same pluses you mentioned about the Q2, but seeing this video I will probably give it a spin soon. So, what is your new machine?
I have trouble trying new things when what I’m using works. 😂
"For me, I wanted a smaller package" 🤣
Love you Dave
HAHA yeah I guess that came out wrong 🤣
@@ArtSomething Its too big!!!
What lubricant do you use to keep this machine running smoothly long term?
Great review doode, you rock
I wondering if i won something from ya it would be posible to send it to Ireland?
I really wish to try this machine.
Peace doode
Nice haul again
Ps: i can pay the delivery hehe🤣
Hey man im wondering what do you thing about this compared to cheyene hawk pen? I been using hawk pen for years and i love it and looking for a similar feel (hitting) machine for a spare, thanks in advance
Hey brother thanks for all this videos been following for a while now . I just bougth the same machine and mine doesn't click like that smooth , it spins and the needle comes in and out but it doesnt click at all . Should I returned it ?
Thanks .
What machine would you recommend for someone who's new ?
Love my cnc machine
I tried them when they first came just didn’t think it was gonna last a long time I’ve had the cheyenne thunder for 10 years now
I really want to get this but I can't tell if id have to use only cartridges or could I use normal needles
Hey man can this be used for lining and colour packing/shading?
What do you use to lubricate the machine?
I have been using this machine almost 6 months an have never lubed it, is there something spacific I should use for the lube?
What lubricant do you use for the machine please?
i missed the giveaway ?!
ok i guess ill buy it myself then... that barely audible hum is a huge selling point for me tbh and your video really sells the product! still sad i missed the giveaway
Hey I just started watching your videos I want to become a tattoo artist but idk the proper way to start or the proper equipment to get I was wondering if you can help me down this path?
Hi I have a question for a video ?! I was wondering how do you not be heavy handed while doing a tattoo I was doing a practice tattoo and I was told that I was being heavy handed I wasn’t trying to push hard I just want to know if you have any pointers or suggestions for practicing love your videos !!!!
When you mean maintenance for the Q2? What lubricant did you use. And within the year did you have to replace the o-ring?
nice video bud
looking forward for giveaway😁😁
CNC should spansor you for sure
Thanks Pouya appreciate that. And Im looking forward to the giveaway as well!! 🤘🤘
