I love this movie, it’s so Buddhist. Live in the moment, be disciplined, nothing in life is beneath you. Little things make your life so beautiful.
I thought the same, it’s a nod to Buddha. Can’t tell more without spoilers.
i'm a buddhist and this film valid

Zen: do what you're doing while you're doing it.
You nailed it.
I saw it today, and it was..."a whole vibe." Chillest movie of all time. It felt relatable, and yet something to aspire to. ...It made me feel like solitude is a perfectly viable path in life, and that there's nobility in simply providing for one's self and providing a service to society. It's okay to exist, and to sit & notice and to absorb, to breathe and go about your way.
such a perfect description of the movie! Just watched it last night and you put it perfectly
cool!
I am unsure whether I'd describe the film as "chill". There is profound wisdom here. While Hirayama is so content as a toilet cleaner, he can still yearn for fun and companionship. Perfect Days shares with us the perfection of our present surroundings, but teaches us to not neglect the imperfections either. Take a day off work, smile at a stranger, visit your father, dance with a stranger. There is beauty in it all, embrace this and live presently, your perfect days will be endless.....
exactly, im a route sanitation driver and my job is pure chill, no one messes with me, I get to be outside, everday is different adventure, and just chill listening to music, podcasts, audiobooks etc.
@@freddiepearce6455 I think when he was young, he probably dreamed of becoming a musician or a botanist. His father probably wanted him to be a doctor or engineer, otherwise the son might as well become a janitor. That's the reason he couldn't face his dad.
Movies like this are needed now more than ever. Slow down. Be present. Notice the beauty in the everyday
The scene with his sister was SO well written and acted.... With the minimum of lines and the incredible facial expressions, we could understand what he had escaped from, what he was never returning to, why he and his sister were different, what the relationship with his father was, how his sister perceived him (with a complex mixture of envy, disdain, sorrow, regret, and more...).
Just amazing.
👌👌❤❤
Perhaps many people missed it but his connection with the tree shown through the photos and the dreams he had about it actually depicts that he sees himself in that tree, that tree almost similarly interacts with the environment around it the way he does, without saying anything just observing the beauty around it and just going about its daily routine, that is being a normal simple tree. Like the way they showed Koji’s daily routine life.
I got to see this movie early at the Virginia Film Festival and it’s the best movie of the year. Y’all are in for a treat. It’s like it was made for me. I haven’t been this affected by a movie in quite some time.
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 I am a Christian and love that verse
I saw the trailer at the theatre the other day&was so interested wiz amazing director&actor. Now I decide2 go watch definitely after check ur comment. ありがとう!
Say hello&thanx from Japan
Godzilla Minus One is a better film. But this looks good
@@Puert0ricandream How do you know it’s better if you haven’t seen Perfect Days
@@megamoviez because I HAVE seen Minus One
Who knew watching a toilet cleaner's everyday life would be therapeutic. It was like being there, enjoying the simple things in life like eating at the park. I watched this at home and it gave me that "cozy" feeling. Plus, those public facilities are a work of art! We don't have those in our country as far as I know. My favorite is the one that turns opaque and transparent.
Just watched it and felt a sense of peace I didn’t think I’d feel from a film. Awesome, like 9 out of 10!
10/10. 💫
Had the pleasure of seeing this at Cannes... absolutely sensational and deeply moving film! A must watch

Performance of little words, but there are many expressions that Koji Yakusho makes in this film that will stick with you for a long time.
My thoughts too. I will never forget his facial expressions, his facility with them, and how eloquent they are.
His days were indeed perfect, colors, music, work, sauna, photography and cassette tapes brought extra joy to this daily routine. This is another great example of celebration of life in Japan, a country with one of the highest qualities of life in the world and yet many sadnesses and stresses created by people's thoughful minds. "Drive my car" and "Broker" are another amazing celebrations of life in Japanese cinema, with "Broker" being a South Korean film written, edited and directed by Japanese filmmaker.
Just through this trailer I can tell how beautiful this story/film will be ❤
ほんのちょっとの幸せで、人というのは生きていけるんですね。

So glad I threw this into my lineup at Melbourne Film Fest earlier this year. Easily my favorite film of the year.

This film is special. While watching it, I comfortably felt to be inside its world.
I've seen this movie at least 10 times now thanks to AppleTV and trust me the ASMR is the best thing about this movie. I've never had a movie that's worth so much meaning and simplicity that it became like white noise to me at this point when I go to sleep.
Between this, Godzilla Minus One, The Boy and the Heron, and Monster - 2023 is such strong year for Japanese cinema 🍿
I purchased this film this morning and watched it immediately. Men, I think this seems to be my best movie this year. It touched a lot with fantastic Koji Yakusho san no performance, solid plot, excellent music scores, and stunning cinematography. A great actor starts acting in other people’s lives but finally becomes themselves in their ripest days.
As soon as I saw the title, I remembered Lou Reed's singing voice. And the song is really included in the movie.❤
Such an iconic song (& singer!).
Can anyone believe I have already seen this masterpiece that too in theatre and came back again to see this trailer. Their is no way unlove this movie after you watch it.
same haha

I swear, Koji-san does not age, he's looked the same for 30 years. 😂 This film looks amazing for sure.
Hes handsome.
Such a gorgeous movie about the poetry of everyday life
Saw this film at the Angelika in NYC and it filled me with a quiet delight. So understated and beautiful. I will be revisiting this film frequently; it touched me deeply. I can't recommend it enough.

I was deeply comforted just by the trailer.
Lots to love about the Japanese culture.
Wenders, one of the last great filmmakers of his era. I cannot wait for this
Omg!! This looks amazing, i need this movie, thanks Neon ❤
You wake up and you try again.
Having another shot at life is perfection 🙌
watched it yesterday and it was the perfect film to start the new year ❤
Where did you watch it?
Such a gem.Watched yesterday.Unforgettable❤❤❤
This looks beautiful, i will definitely watch it.
So beautiful!
I just saw this today and it’s the best film I’ve seen in a long while. It showed me the true beauty in solitude and I saw my little routines reflected in this quiet masterpiece of a film
saw this at the Chicago film festival and absolutely loved it. Been telling everyone about it.
just saw this film today. absolutely loved it. a perfect movie that kept my eyes glued to the theater screen despite the seemingly mundane subject matter and the fact that i had to whizz like 15 minutes into its 2 hour run time.
I loved this movie! Beautiful.
Wim Wenders movies are wonderful gifts of grace.
Truly a masterpiece, with valuable zen and stoic lessons.
Saw this at the London Film Festival. Loved it. One of my favourites of the year & my favourite lead actor performance of the year.

Such a beautiful film! I watched yesterday and could not move from my chair for a long time after it.
Such a beautiful film❤
One of the best directors hands down.
Absolutely beautiful film! Definitely see it.
Just loved watching this beautiful film. 👌❤
The fact itself that a group of people have coalesced, brought a german man to Tokyo, asked him to tell a story about the city toilets and made you cry throught it tells something about the human species.
Brilliant summary, isn't it ironic? I have another one which imho fits beautifully with yours. A group coalesced, brought some random skinny roman woman to Sardinia asked her to tell a story about a castaway fisherman and a middle aged rich bimbo.
Looks absolutely wonderful ☺️😊
Already a bit teary eyed after the trailer. Movies like this just do something to my brain
This movie made me SO happy 😊 I will watch it again
Why did this trailer make me tear up? I haven't even seen the movie yet
Such a quietlymoving film.
This looks great! Haven't seen a Wenders film in a while. Shame have to wait until February here in UK!
Non vedo l'ora di vederlo! Finalmente (forse) vedremo il Wenders d'un tempo... 🤍
just the trailer made me cry
This film is like a gentle and warm touch to the heart.❤
amazing.
Really sad I couldn't make it to this at BIFF. Wenders is one of my favourite directors and I heard excellent things about this from Cannes. Can't wait to see it when it does come out.
Just saw this movie over here in norway. It quickly became one of my favorites of all time
perfect days by wim wenders and the song with perfect day from lou reed is a perfection in my whole life!!!!!!!!!
Slice of life is a goated genre. I love it ❤️
Best film ive seen in a while
i want this guy as a neighbor
I want this guy as my best friend, father, uncle, lover, brother, husband, etc etc etc 😂😂😂😂😂
This movie was magical! So moving and touching!
It shows the beauty of life, Hirayama as a character will remain a beautiful mystery for me ~
I loved this movie. At first, after seeing the trailer, I was startled by the absence of dialog thru much of the film but then I got into it. A beautiful story and lesson
I miss tokyo, my home town.
I glad to watch this film in Korea. Such a emotional movie.
This masterpiece deserves more public love and also atleast best picture nomination. This and 'all of us strangers' are my movies of the year 2023. The iron.claw comes close third. I am Amazed to see these 3 movies barely crossed 20 mill box office, whereas as shit like 'anyone but you' had more than 200 Mills just cuz of boobage.
This looks amazing 🔥🔥🔥
One of my favourite of Mr Wenders 🖤
Such a powerful movie, I understand why many wont like it. But if you have been there , you can understand what is going on Hirayama’s mind and soul...
saw this film at melbourne international film festival earlier this year, it is an incredible work of film, so beautiful and moving. cannot wait to see it again

I have to see this. Seems great.
CZcams suggested to me randomly and I like it.
Such a beautiful film...
Seen it and loved it!
The color of the public restroom door has changed. amazing.
@neon have a perfect day 👍
Really wonderful film. Just felt like a really big long hug.
The only way i could describe it is that (to reference another iconic Japanese film) its like My Neighbour Totoro in that theres no huge story arc, no sudden Hollywood attack of space monkeys with guns, just a man and his life, portrayed beautifully. And although its 2hr 4 mins. It doesnt drag at all.
Brought me to tears. Perfect.
This movie is a soul healer.
この映画を見て数日平山ワールドにハマってました。素晴らしい映画です。渋谷のトイレに行ったら、平山さんに会えそうな気がします。
glad I caught this at MAMI last week, best film of the year for me ❤️🥺

素晴らしいですね。ありがとうございます。thank you
俳優さんの演技と音楽のすばらしさ、初老に差し掛かかった今、自分の人生を見つめ返す映画となりました。
置いてきたもの、おいてくるはずだったもの、思い描いた人生と現実。
Such a beautiful film, 10/10
True masterpiece
Cant wait
Looks so cute and charming. Excited for this.
So lovely
A very great film coming out of Japan. Perfect Days shows us a view of life into the underappreciated in our society. It's a story of finding happiness despite our roles in life, and about the day-to-day connections we have.
It's a sad and cold story about an Americanised and globalised world (city) full of estranged, alienated people. It's a docufilm about dying authentic Japanese culture. There is nothing "great" about it.
your name is probably mitchell and you're from the midwest, shut the hell up lmfao@@GalaOrka
Love it watching ❤
Ich liebe diesen Film inständig.
Such a refreshing movie, daily mundane things scaled into a reflection of human life. Now is now.
Watched it on Kolkata Film Festival and it was beautiful!
One word "beutiful" ❤
This film made me think of the Jimmy Buffett song "It's My Job":
In the middle of late last night I was sittin' on a curb
I didn't know what about but I was feeling quite disturbed
A street sweeper came whistlin' by
He was bouncin' every step
It seemed strange how good he felt
So I asked him while he swept
He said "It's my job to be cleaning up this mess
And that's enough reason to go for me
It's my job to be better than the rest
And that makes the day for me"
Can’t wait for the release in the west
