My theory about kiri is that she doesn't actually have a father at all, and that she is somehow born of grace and eywa. grace was mean to pass through eywa and return as jake did but was too weak from injury. However graces avatar body is still alive and I think that somehow that had some kind of effect where grace's avatar became pregnant from it, maybe from almost returning back into her avatar body, or even eywa returning grace in a way. And I think this is why kiri has such a strong connection to eywa. I dunno if that's stupid or not but it would explain why no father is known and kiri's connection o eywa.
Not stupid at all. This is the predominant theory as far I’m aware of, so I think you’re on the right track.
This makes a lot of sense, and seems to be suggested by Sigourney Weaver being cast as her. A woman in her 70s playing the voice of a teenage girl doesn’t really make a lot of sense unless it’s literally the same person reincarnated.
Kirk is born of Grace’s avatar (that is dormant because it doesn’t have a spirit anymore) not grace herself so yeah
You can also read it in the songcord translation
Mo'at asked Eywa to save everything Grace was in her avatar body. Grace made tsaheilu with Eywa herself, in her human body! Eywa experienced a human mind for the first time, Grace's loving and empathetic mind for Pandora and the Na'vi!
Kiri is like Eywa's manifestation of Grace's love and empathy. She doesn't even have to make tsaheilu beforehand to connect with and befriend animals... She's a Na'vi-Human hybrid with empathy on Eywa's steroids
Still better continuity than ‘8 YEARS LATER’ in Spider-Man: Homecoming…
MUCH BETTER continuity haha
If that Flashback takes place in 2012 and the main movie in 2016, then how does that work?!
It doesn’t. Need to ignore it.
@@Geekritique Ok thanks.
I think it’s bad they cut it all away, they should have made a separate movie about it. Because after your explanation for me the plot of second movie is more logical. For example, it seemed that Jake did not expect the return of humans at all and it makes him look very naive. The war of Omaticaya was practically not down and Jake just abandoned his clan. But these comics explain that they prepared, tried and lost, that’s why Jake decided to protect his family at least. And Spider’s arc is clearer now. I also liked that some humans turned out to be traitors
I agree, there’s a lot here that helps the second film make more sense. Glad you enjoyed the explanation!
It would've been 10hrs long 😂
@@o-wolf I’d still watch it)
@@anastasialiulina8819 yeh same, but they can't put that out it wouldn't be a viable product.. I'm just surprised they didn't put the middle bits on Disney plus as Cameron films everything he storyboards
He was even talking about serialising it or doing a hateful 8 type showing.. but bob iger probly didn't wana spend the money
@@o-wolf true! I mean I don’t know what is going to happen in the next movies, but I would rather watch some of those skipped events in movie 2, and then see events of actual movie 2 in movie 3
I still can't get over the fact that the Na'vi got space suits and everything 😅😅
I know right! They had them specially made to face the humans.
honestly didnt like that part - it just seems sooo strange for them to suddenly use rifles in zero gravity yet also walk around half naked using bows and arrowx

Movies like this I don't think about Timelines much other than which movie takes place first. Interesting to see it laid out when someone does.
Glad you appreciate it either way!
wish they went into comic book lore in the movie, the explanation of the previous leaders parents being shunned to a fire/ash clan is very interesting
Maybe they will in the third film. 🤷🏻♂️ It wasn’t necessary information in the second film.
They’re weren’t banished to a fire clan, they were banished to a clan that welcomes Na’vi who have been exiled
Which happen to live in the “ashes”.
Since there's a 3000 year time gap between Toruk The First Flight and The First Avatar
I'd love to see stories in that Time period kinda like what Star Wars did with Legends
That would be very cool.
@@Geekritique Very much
👍👍👍👍Fantastic! Thank you Dakota. As a huge fan of the Avatar movies, the Na'vi and Pandora (saw the first movie 14 times and TWoW 11 times, all viewings in IMAX 3D) I *really* appreciate the backstory. You've done a great job of spelling out the context for TWoW, and answering some questions I had.
So glad you liked it! Wow! 11 times! That’s amazing! I appreciate this comment. Thanks!
Thanks for the avatar content 👍🏻
Thanks for the avatar comment 👍
I love the Avatar movies 💙
5x in The Way Of Water and counting 🤩
Awesome! Love to hear it.
Update: 6 times 💙🌊

I'd like to know more information how Earth discovered Pandora. Was it James Webb Telescope?
Most likely no, it was discovered in the latter half of the 21st century, so most likely it’ll be a far stronger telescope.
@@Geekritique likely later telescopes will be several telescopes placed along earths orbit that will all be working together which would be far superior then a single one of any size and would easily see a planet from a star in the sun's neighborhood
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Great video
Glad I could help!
Well done as always, looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Dan!! Glad you liked it.
Awesome!!! I’m here for all the Avatar info!
Glad you like it!
Recoms were definitely developed after events from first movie. In "The Way of Water" it's said that the memories of soldiers were copied right before the battle. We can assume recoms' bodies works similar to avatars. Avatars are fully developed after about five years. Recoms' bodies are definitely younger than 20 years.
Not according to the visual dictionary. Their bodies were maturing before Jake Sully ever reached Pandora.
@@Geekritique ah, well I might be wrong then. I didn't went through the whole dictionary yet, but some details already made me revise my knowledge about the canon
That was amazing
So glad you enjoyed it!
Great Video!
Thanks Justin!
i hope there will be much more movies than only 5 in total.
when i saw the sequal, right away i felt like Why do they skip everything ?
Same here.
James Cameron said he has plans for 6 and 7
@@michaeltenn983 😮😮😮
Wow, ok.
Love the intro!!!😂💙
Haha glad you like it!
Amazing! Can't wait for the next few MCU videos!
Thanks man!
@@Geekritique Will the official Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continuity video be out before or after Quantumania?
What would you prefer?
@@Geekritique I would like before so I can know before seeing the film, but don't rush it, if you can't get it out by the it's ok!
@@Geekritique It doesn't matter to me. I just have it loosely placed until I see where you have it officially placed was why I was asking. You're the unofficial/official word for my timetable, which only has a few small differences from yours.
Hey Dakota do you know when we should expect your full Black Panther: Wakanda Forever timeline video
Now that I’ve released my trilogy of Avatar videos I’m switching gears to the MCU now. Stay tuned.
Hey Geekritique, are you ever doing to do a timeline video for Ant-Man 3?
We did a small short video you can find on our channel, but yes. When it’s released digitally, we’ll do a normal timeline breakdown.
For an idea can you possibly do a arrowverse multiverse timeline?
That would be very difficult. Maybe some day.
Hi! Thank you for video! 😍
There are a few inconsistencies in "The Way of the Water" in my opinion that are haunting.
Perhaps you can comment on them correctly.
1) Where did the Metkayin tribe go in the final battle. Then only Sally remained to fight, as well as Tsireya.
2) According to the film, all Metkayina speak English. Of course, I understand that it is unacceptable to implement viewing on subtitles here. But is it then worth considering that they actually speak the Navi language?
Hey there. To answer your questions:
1. That’s a definite plot hole, they’re gonna have to answer that at some point. Either in flashbacks or in the comics.
2. In the beginning of the film they explain that they’re speaking Na’vi the whole time, but it starts sounding like English to Jake. So yes, the Metkayina are speaking Na’vi.
@@Geekritique Thanks a lot for your answers! :)
This is the way……of water
Haha! Thanks for the comment! You’re the first on this vid.
The description of the body type of the avatar was around 20 years old, the body itself isn't 20, ship time (because of light speed) it takes 3 years, that's 5 years on earth, in that time they reach adult size
The body was already growing in a lab on earth before Quaritch died on Pandora. 15 years later, it’s not unbelievable that the body had been growing for 5 more years.
@@Geekritique is that like comic book info? I haven't read them but I really want to
It’s explained in more detail in the Visual Dictionary.
Why this was t the plot for Avatar 2 boggles the mind.
1:20 .. i thought in the explainer video, boss man says theyre sending the samples back to earth and that quarich is about to go on the big bomber mission... so he had full knowledge of all but final deadly battle essentially?
That’s correct, but if you remember the explainer video, Selfridge says they’re growing in a lab on earth as we speak. So it’s likely the Avatar was just a vessel that they were now backing up with memories before their battle.
@@Geekritique strange they wouldnt need the dna at conception. thanks! great vids
Well they likely do. Meaning, they took a sample from Quaritch and others years before the memories were sent to earth.
Are you going to be doing an in depth Wakanda forever timeline
Just started work on it.
so in order tounderstand spider's existence you must know the comic books ?
Not necessarily. Most of what we know comes from The Way of Water. The comics just flesh out more of his lore and backstory.
i feel like avatar franchise is going to be like star wars franchise, there will be struggle, fear one of the family members turns evil something like that, probably in the 4-5 movie idk maybe
That would be really interesting!
Hey dude u forgot one thing in ur newest mcu timeline, if u reply il say
Sir, this is an Avatar video.
@@Geekritique I mean yeah but this is ur newest video so
@@Geekritique Bruh
Well thanks for the timeline. But man this should be a TV series, not a bunch of movies.
That would be incredible!
You know what I don’t get, is that spider should have an avatar he is the oldest son of jake and neytiri he is even older then Netaym but don’t quote me on that either
It takes years to produce an Avatar. Just not feasible.
@@Geekritique ooohhhh
Well it takes 6.75 years to travel to pandora (From the persepctive or earth, 5 years and 9 months in film), and likely they don't have ftl communication, so basically nothing happened to humanity, they magically teleported a call to make a bunch of crap to take over a planet in literally like 7 months then instantly sent it back to pandora
They could've just made Na'vi age slower than people to keep the children as children but no, they decided breaking their own universes laws is better lol
U forgot about loak
What about him?
Hold up… norm adopted a Navi orphan???
Yep!!
avatar comic books.... WHAT ???
since when do they eixst ???
We discuss it more in our Avatar Timeline video from December, but they began making them in 2017.
So soon after your last video. Isn't that a bit off-brand for this franchise?
I had this video written before finishing the previous video. This concludes my trilogy of Avatar vids. Had to get it off my chest haha.
1st and 2nd Avatar movies are 13 years gap.
In terms of how long it took to release. But in-universe it’s slightly longer.
This was great thanks
Thanks for watching!
4:09 I WONDER..... Mangkwan.
HMMMM 🤔
Hope you enjoyed the video!
@@Geekritique I did thanks!
Don't forget the video games are also canon.....
Yep! But as of now we don’t know how they affect these 15 years.
Did you really Call us morons?
“Bros and skxawngs”, you’re either a bro or a skxawng. You decide 🤣
The second movie was an abortion. Absolutely horrible.
Loved it. Favorite film of the 2020s so far.
