- President Vladimir Putin vowed on Saturday (January 6) to back soldiers who defend Russia's interests, also assuring their families that Moscow would offer support when needed.
Putin was speaking on the eve of Orthodox Christmas, while at a meeting with families of Russian soldiers who have died in Ukraine, who he later also sat down for dinner with.
"You would always have support of people who could back you up if necessarily, to support you, to give you a hand when you need it," Putin told the families.

No one denied Ukrainian losses protecting their homeland (they may deny Kremlin statistics but that's basic). Videos and memorials of those lost to Putin's aggression are frequently posted. Russians meanwhile lost to Putin's aggression, for that's what they are, have their moments of remembrance carefully choreographed or simply faked for Putin.
There are an awful lot more who don't even know that their loved ones have long since become dogmeat on some battlefield in Ukraine!

The east is way poorer than the west (moscow and st. petersburg). Thus, in proportion more people from the east tend to serve the army than people from the big cities.

To the Russian wives and mothers. I am about to return to the Ukrainian front (from the U.K.), on my third term. Trust me! Your Husbands and Sons are dying on a scale not seen since WW2. Not only that, they are also left dying on the battlefield, without any casivac in place. This is in stark contrast to the care and respect given by Ukrainian forces, not only to their own fighters, but also to Russians too!
My service in Ukraine can be confirmed upon request. I am even prepared to speak to these Wives and Mothers before I return to Ukraine.
