With Clayman's Harpoon, you can swap the Ash of War to Sacred Order and give it Lightning affinity. This way, you now have a spear that does physical, magic, lightning, and holy damage simultaneously.
I need to try this. Damn.
"Sacred order and give it lightning affinity" so where does the holy damage come from?
@@starbucks101597 from Sacred Order
split damage like that isnt good, each one is separetly resisted so you do less damage than you would with one damage type
@@starbucks101597 Sacred Order buffs the weapon with holy damage.
As an added note for the Erdsteel Dagger, if you swap the ash of war and scaling over to either holy or flame art, the higher faith scaling also increases the physical dmg as well as the added element, which makes it a great backup weapon for a pure faith character.
Can't take the slight they made against daggers so I would also like to add.
In an Arcane+Faith build, with Erdsteel Dagger, giving the dagger bleed and fully leveling it to +25 results in 117 Bleed Build Up (80 Arcane). Without Seppuku. dual wielding two Erdsteel Daggers with bleed and using the dual dagger moveset, the first attack in the chain hits 3 times. In about the same amount of time it takes a great or colossal weapon user to get ready to swing. Usually causing a bleed with high enough Arcane. The second hit in the chain is a very fast double swipe which counts as 2 hits. If the first attack in the chain didn't bleed, the second will. Chaining the first and second attacks together results in 5 hits in the same amount of time a katana user has swung twice.
Basically trying to say, daggers are your status melee weapons. Small openings that other weapons could get 1 or 2 hits off, daggers can get 3-5. Which is a bleed proc, frost proc, or poison proc. EZ. Toss parry on Erdsteel dagger and you can use the openings caused by parry to easily get 5-10 hits off, which is multiple bleed procs.
Why Erdsteel dagger specifically? Because it's Charged Heavy attacks are multi-hitting. I see so many people not using charged heavy attacks then crying about never having a chance to hit bosses like Malenia. BECAUSE YOU DON'T BREAK THEIR POISE. Charge Heavy breaks poise faster than Jump Heavy and on Erdsteel, the fully charged heavy is VERY fast, it feel like a normal light attack on a greatsword. Usually weave a charged heavy or two in until boss poise breaks, then go to town with dual dagger chain attacks to bleed them into mush. Very fun.
Also, flame grant me strength and fire incantations for make up for daggers weaknesses. Which is short range and unable to bleed some enemies.
My current favorite underrated weapon is the "Frozen Needle" Thrusting Sword (and the Thrusting Sword archetype in general, really). An amazing tidbit about the Thrusting Sword archetype in general, but especially the Frozen Needle, is that you can do a retreating attack by starting to charge a heavy attack and then backstepping. With the Frozen Needle in particular this is hilarious because it's a retreating ranged poke with the icicle it shoots out.
Couple the backstep attack with a followed up extra backstep (without a direction held) to do another hop back farther, or follow it up with a light attack to do a lunging poke. Hell, you could backstep attack, backstep farther, and then lunging poke stab with the light attack. It's really amazing how versatile the Thrusting Sword archetype is. And if you put Seppuku on the Antspur Rapier, running it Bleed/Rot has you bleed most basic enemies in a single poke, and it's really absolutely disgusting. If you REALLY want to be a disgusting overpowered jerk, you can run two Antspur Rapier with Seppuku, buff the offhand first, buff the mainhand, and then bleed everything all day every day forever.
I sincerely hope people give that stuff a shot, because it's a blast to play with that stuff.
3:11 Show us your physical Resistances with those four Talismans equipped. Makes Godricks Soldier into a legit Boss
I was thinking that too. It was like -36% resistance
every single mob enemy gets a health bar on the bottom and boss music
"The only sleep weapon, which is the st. Trina's sword"
St. Trina's torch: Am I a joke to you?
Yes
Yeah it's a joke 😅
You guys should show off the Family Heads flail next it's really good, and using it in combination with Bastard's Star flail covers each weapons weakness.
Something that is worth mentioning, using multiple element is less interesting in pvp because your various dmg type will hit various resistance and furthermore reducing your dmg... that is, varrés bouquet could be interesting with frost enhancement
I double dipped on the Antspur Rapier. Got a second one from pal. One is Bloodloss and the other is Frost. I swap them in, drop my Mimic, then I put on Eleanora's and Dragon Seal. She plays Rot/Blood/Frost and I play Bleed/Fire/Dragon Incantation. Needless to say, we are having a good time.
If you _enjoy fun_ at all, it's fun to be a buff looking guy character while wearing the Death bed Dress (or whatever it's called) and wielding Varre's bouquet and pretending the story of the game is you seeking revenge against Marika for standing you up on your wedding day. All the bosses are from her side of the wedding party and you have to deal with them before getting to her.
It's like a slightly problematic Scott Pilgrim
Brave Tarnished Vs The Gods
The treespear is a ridiculously sweet weapon. The stagger it dishes it out? the range? dat charged double heavy poke? Dat cheeky heavy slash poke follow up ? this thing has seriously carried me throughout learning how to duel. crazy weapon
Duelist Greataxe. I literally never see anyone talk about it like people don’t know that it exists because it’s drop chance is so low however if you set aside scaling and focus on raw stats I believe it is the hardest hitting weapon in the game. I power stance them and have the heavy affinity on them for the crazy damage and use waves of darkness on my main hand one to keep enemy players at bay while using thunderbolt on my other one to catch people trying to heal or interrupt spell casters. I love them lol.
far from it, pure dps on maxed scaling, the rosus axe is the best dps
@@pedroslim2 he said raw damage not dps u dingle
@@cwapisme in that case he would be wrong aswell, eardtree avatar staff is the highest AR weapon in the game with maxed out scaling
@@pedroslim2 You just have to be that guy, huh?
@@voltage214 what? im just sharing helpful info
As for the Erdsteel Dagger, you can actually receive a second one in a single NG cycle from the sewers of Leyndell, underneath the fire breathing broken gargoyle. Giving that one an infusion buffing AoW like Shared/Sacred Order or Chilling Mist, and giving your right handed dagger something like Bloodhound's Step, allows for dual wielding them in a single playthrough without having to have one dropped. I, personally, love the power stance dagger moveset. It's fast, has a low endurance cost, and it lets you dash around, take quick swipes, and still be able to get out of harm's way. Also absolutely shreds enemies with low poise.
I got 2 and haven't finished my 1st playthrough but can't remember where the other one dropped
yall have turned from my favorite monster hunter information main line to all my favorite games main source for interesting info, josh, cotton and hollow keep up the marvelous work
The clay man spear you introduced me to, I use it with spinning weapon and magic imbue. It’s ridiculous and decent!
Dual cold claymans spears is amazing. Frost procs after the second L1. Putting glintstone pebble or ice spear on it makes them extra nasty. Sword dance is also good.
Oh man I've been experimenting with a faith/arcane build. This is everything I needed to get the build to work. Thank you!
I've been running the tree spear ever since I got it on my first playthrough. that thing is amazing and has never let me down. Keep up the great content
I ran the tree spear all the way in the game until I got my golden order and sacred relic swords. Tree spear was so great
I've been using the Clayman's Harpoon since watching your video on it. You made a damn good recommendation with that one.
Love the elden ring content keep up the good work!
Been waiting for this video lol idk how u pump out daily but keep it up 👍
I love that there are some weapons that you can use greases and buffs on to make better.... but I didn't even think of the bouquet
The “Misercorde” dagger has the HIGHEST CRIT in the game, you can put any Ash of War on it, PLUS you can also have any other buff or grease added to it. Flame of the Rednane on it makes it a GOD TIER WEAPON!!!
Actualy i found something stronget and funny but not always usable. You have an AoW called focus or something like that with an enhance version of it that make your next and only one next attack steonger, you can put it on mosericorde and actualy buff the damage from the stagger crit.
But it means that you need to put redmane flame on another weapon, stagger enemy, switch to misericorde use the buff (which is kinda fast) and then crit him boom !
Irs pretty fast bur you still need few secs so only work on not too fast recovery stagged enemies
Wait i tried putting grease on it and it didnt work
@@Shiirya yeah that's really good.
Always in my second slot for backstabs with this ash of war.
Golden Vow or Flame Grant me Strength buff together with this is a one shotter most of the time 👌
@@supernoahman I’ve literally used lightning grease on it while I built it for fire damage💯
@@JoeWillz82 no your not if its set to flame art or fire damage you cant use grease if its set to flame of redmanes but a heavy scaling or something you can but your not getting fire damage anymore pay attention bud
Love your channel bro..lol keep up the great job
I know it wasn't mentioned... but great to see Wing of Astel getting some love in some of your clips.
I suspect the Erdtree Greatspear works like the Clayman's Harpoon and you can put Ashes of War on it as long as you keep it to standard tuning
Bloodhounds fang can be buffed with incants like electrify armament/black flame blade and can be buffed with grease.
Whoa I didnt know you can buff the flowers! How good is it when power stancing?
Btw Bloodhound's Fang also can be buffed with other elements, in addition to its bleed build-up it already has
There's a ton of bleed weapons that can be buffed, it's not one that usually eliminates buffs
Bleed has nothing to do with magic/fire/lightning or holy DMG. You can always (99%) buff a bleed weapon with different grease, bloodflame etc
Holy crap! I use the claymans a lot and i just assumed you couldn't buff it.
i really wanna see more damaging types as passive effects that do damage over time liek fire lightning holy and posion, like bleed and frost show up very well but the others dont even show as a passive effect. id also love to see more play with other damage types like poison needs way more shit that doesnt just rely on bleed aswell as more madness buildup that does stuff to npcs ( scrap the logic that everyones got madness so they cant be harmed with it because lets be real adding more madness onto something mad is ganna kill it quicker). itd be nice to see lightning damage do tick damage with a small visual effect aswel that shows like electricity on the npc you are fighting, same with fire, i think all damage types should have "bleed" effect over time and a crit effect like bleed does, posion would be cool if it slowed aswell as sleep ( which should be the only passive effect that does no damage its all about using the effects. more blakc flame stuff would be cool aswell. id just love to see a massive expansion on damage types
Bloodhounds Fang can be buffed also with its already passive Blood Loss effects, and it makes the weapon a beast with the right scaling. It's ash of war is one of the most solid in the game imo for my play style. Always consistent damage
I'm starting to hate it because it fits my style so well & hits so hard, I want to use other weapons & I do but when I had enough of any struggle I slap it right back on without hesitation
Bloodhounds fang on a quailty build is awesome. Throw blood flame blade on it and once you get the timing of bloodhound finesse down its insane.
in terms of sleep (and rot too) is that it is a finite amount of crafting mats per NG, or that the very least has very low drop chance on certain mobs
unlike other mats, that can just be picked up
Just craft it?
Playing through bloodbourne and my second elden ring character and the amount of things to do in comparison is insaine
A second erdsteel dagger can be found in the royal capital after going through the sewers towards the west capital rampart site of grace. it's on a body near the ladder leading up to the stone dragon
Blood Antspur Rapier can be buffed with 2 elements and can also have its ash of war changed
They already talked about it in another vid. There aren’t many scarlet rot weapons like that one, so it’s a good choice when combined with the mushroom crown/blood’s exultation talisman for stacking attack buffs. Not to mention being able to shield poke with thrusting weapons if needed.
@@blackhat4206 I'm going to go grab my second one as we speak. Gonna do bleed on one and frost on the other :]
@@thevideogamearchive. Frozen needle is a good option too until you get the 2nd antspur. Happy hunting!
@@thevideogamearchive. it may be a bug but putting frost on antspur removes the scarlet rot...which doesn't make since (lore implies fire cleanses the rot)
@@blackhat4206 An amazing tidbit about the Thrusting Sword archetype in general, but especially the Frozen Needle, is that you can do a retreating attack by starting to charge a heavy attack and then backstepping. There is a second erdsteel dagger in in the open sewer lines in lyndel.
I just found the sacred order spear yesterday for the first time haha
I figured out that I can actually buff the one-eyed shield with shield grease to increase the flame spit ability. Now... With that being said. Of course I put the fire scorpion charm on, shard of Alexander, ritual sword talisman... And a cold curved great to massively proc ice damage and shoot limitless fireballs. I killed the erdtree beast thing in the consecrated snowfield in about 2 shots. 🌋🌋 NG+
I started playing with the Rotten Great Axe with a cold based ash. It’s crazy
if you have two ripple crescent halberd out can apply sleep to both of them very effective in PvP
I have a build that I want you guys to go over but not sure how to reach out to you guys man. Not gonna lie the build is pretty solid/fun, used it through ng+ 2-4.
Its cool but split damage, especially more than 2 different types is never the best, take the Dancers Enchanted Swords As An Example, really high AR, but the damage is meh because of all the split
Just obliterated the trolls knee lmfao 3:26
Omg the grease lighting part killed me watched it like 10 x 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Also mixed your flame build but with the spear 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks for this. Really want to try the Ripple Blade but the body of Pidia hasn't dropped the bell bearing. Weird, because I think I remember collecting it after Seluvis was killed by Ranni (she beat me to it lol). Is there a chance of a drop from an Albinauric do you think?
So happy to see my glintstone blade up there. But don't you disrespect it. It's a two shot kill for most pvps when you level up strength and intelligence
I was mid dab when you said grease lighting and the laugh cough I experienced was hell
Can you make a video for weapons you can use with low strength and dex totals.
It feels weird not hearing “hello my fellow hunters” at the start 😂😂
I might be wrong but I thought that the Tree Spear's buff stacked as long as it is the first buff applied?
Not mentioned here, there is also the venomous fangs, while not arcane scaling it has natural poison damage, with it's poison being unique in that it does more damage for a slightly shorter duration, it can be buffed and has the option for ashes of war
Gonna try this now thnx
@@patches2221 my recommendations for equipment are get the exaltation of rot, the winged talisman/rotten winged sword insignia, the mushroom crown, the beast claw talisman, focus strength as your main damage stat (with the beast claw talisman your incant scaling will stay good despite the low faith), make the claws heavy, grab blood flame blade and flame grant me strength, for ash of war you can use whatever you like, beast roar, ground pound, hoarfrost stomp, lightning ram, and flame of the redmanes are good options
You can throw an ash for Arcane scaling which makes it fun.
@@toodleselnoodos6738 that does make you lose the ability to buff it though
@@joshuachurchill2858 True. But it’s pretty good with an Occult or Bleed scaling so I say it’s definitely worth it.
I was not ready for grease lightning 😂
Do that magic casting spell with iron balls and beast roar and the spear of whatever that gives you boost you can one hit almost anything
nice vid
I want to try bleed spectral lance on claymans harpoon. Major stagger huge range and bleed. Wonder how well it works?
Wow cool I found this stuff out myself I'm to addicted to this game
That Greese Lightning Meme just made me choke on my mcdonalds breakfast 🤣🤣🤣
If you add a frost buff to a weapon with base fire will frost bite ever proc or will the fire just keep resetting the build up?
Can you add tons of buff element to a weapon or just 1 buff
winged scythe is still my weapon can use the special for not letting no one use any flask I can't tell you how important that is dosent matter how many you got esp for pvp and random invasions offline
I like blood hound fang it will accept most greases and on dragons with dragon grease its nasty
Question, in the old souls games it was a bad idea to double dip elements due to hitting multiple resistances. It's one of the reasons the dancers swords sucked. Is this still an issue in elden ring or are the numbers so high its basically irrelevant?
Depends on scaling and your enemies weaknesses.
For example:
If you have an enemy weak to lightning (a Lotta enemies are weak to lightning) and ,ou combine it with a other element where the enemy is weak to - (or at least not resistant) - to let's say holy - plus you have high faith - you'll deal a ton of DMG.
Yea its the same thing here. Not quite on the same level because we have a new armor system on top of the old armor system. So its a little smaller issue. But its still not a good idea.
St trina sword isn’t only sleep weapon. Found a st trina torch today.
Oh I know all about the treespear. With my current build and buffs I can get the AR up to 1300
I actually hit LIKE to the video within the first 8 seconds! LOL!
I feel like this video wasn't made with an understanding of how bad split damage is. For the Clayman's Harpoon, you're going to want to magic infuse it and also apply Scholar's Armament in order to deal the best damage.
wait, do these weapons have EVERY one of the applied status effects being used or using one disabled the previous one?
Wow that intro was really funny
I got 100% trophies the first month of release so I do know about the weapons because i have obtained every item in game
Where do you get the crafting book for magic greese?
Does the antspur rapier not fall into this category? I’ve been running that a lot recently but I could be mistaken
So arcane covers bleeding scaling. What covers poison and frost?
I've been using varres bouquet for pvp, and let me tell you, it sucks so bad even when triple dipping on the bleed.
It's damage sucks outside of pve
Actually, there is also a torch with natural sleep buildup.
This channel is frequently wrong
Yeah but that's a torch.
Not really a weapon.
Plus it socks
@@dondemonico torches go in the weapon slot,it's a weapon.
@@patches2221 still socks 😅
You missed the ant spur rapier rot that you can buff and change the ash of war
Best grease of all for sure.
Having split weapon damage is most often worse than physical only damage
3:17 hecking -38k physical resistance
I found a sleep torch yesterday St. Trina's Torch. I just don't remember where.
Consecrated snowfield
Dont spread across two different non physical elements itll result in less damage due to how resistance works
The uchigatana is upgradable and comes with blood loss off the bat
Bloodtax doesn't apply extra bleed. Test it on a weapon without bleed and try to proc it.
I was wondering how many weapons allowed this.
anyone know which tailsman he has equipped, 4th slot at 3:05 ? thanks in advance anyone!
What armor are you wearing? Specifically arms and legs.
What makes the Ripple Crescent Halberd less potent than the Ripple Blade? The halberd has higher base damage, and both scale with S Arcane. The halberd's scaling is a slightly lower tier S, but in the end (+25) it has higher base and scaled damage, compared to the blade.
You rely on fast attack to have a good proc on your buff, the halberd attack slower hence less dps overall.
How do you get that armor set?
It’s on a pile of fire all the way north of the Altus plateau region. Just below the east windmill pasture and just a bit north of the ‘road of iniquity side path’ site of grace
Greased lightning! xD
You can add special effects like Bloodflame on Bloodhound's Fang. I love the pure panic of enemies in PVP when they notice how much damage is being output on it.
I do saint Trina's dual wielding 😉
Bloodhound fang also fits this category
Not really
@@CreativeUsernameEh 10 months late haha let me re watch the video to see if I agree with you or not
No I’m right
From always does this, they always do these secrets in their games.
It sucks that Soporific Grease is limited.
I’m dual wielding Ripple Crescent Halberds and it’s awesome.
Two really boosts the damage and the stagger is amazing. While the R1 isn’t a stat, you can stab easily with either the running R1 or the backstep R1.
Using it with the Claw Talisman makes it fun for an arcane dragoon build.
I think Ripple Weapons are best if you go for a pure melee build, so Vigor/Endurance/Arcane and using the Blood Grease and Poison Grease Drawstring for variety damage.
Still probably not as good as a bleed/poison Vulgar Militia Saw, but it allows versatility with greases.
I like to have a dagger with Golden Vow.
Always have Misericorde in the second slot with Golden Vow.
Can't go wrong with this 👌
i wonder if the patches coming will stop this too haha
They drop the ripple blade too and theres no need to act like its locked behind the manor area...
Forgot to add, surprisingly to me, the dismounter sword + the ash of war : sword dance is crazy weapon, can be enchanted too
Alright, for the last ending ill use the Troll Hammer.
How does this also work on the Minecraft - Minetrack of Dooooooooom!?
I have frost and bleed on my nagikiba
I thought the flowers mace was Broccoli 🥦
