"Vegetable Love" is definitely a euphemism as well.

I love this channel! I have such a love for English, but I am not an English student anymore. It's so lovely to hear someone analyzing poetry and short stories because it reminds me of solving a riddle or a putting a puzzle together. I have a question for you. My favorite musical artist, Oren Lavie, has so many poetic songs that I have the hardest time analyzing. While it doesn't benefit me to know the meaning, I just want to know what you think the songs could mean. Thank you for your content!

Intriguing. I probably wouldn't have read Marvell except for your video, so thank you for introducing me to the poem & poet. I like how the concept of the poem still resonates today. Looking forward to part 2!

Hi Rebecca, thank you for your breakdown. If you’ve not read the short story Vaster than Objects and More Slow by Le Guin, I think you might enjoy the philosophical implications along with the reference to this poem. Take care!

In part I demur. This poem is full of not only explicit but suggestive double innuendo...for instance it's not ONLY the Diluvian but the suggestion of the nethers flood which he sees to exacerbate by cloaked inference..because to broach and breech the taboo of mentioning he Knows she's wet for him...and to talk of it in any suggestive way will further un-dam the floodgates her seeks and hopes for to wash her away in her own tumalt of less controled flooding into the arms of, He, to eventually lay panting and gasping for air in the Timeless embrace.
Just enough depth of levels so as to entice and not set her own coy reticence against what she so very wantonly and obviously desires...
It's a simple case of wooing her to do what she herself signals she wants.
    Imo
