Hollow Knight- Easy Delicate Flower Path for Hardest Mask Shard

- The hardest mask shard in all of Hollow Knight is licked behind the Delicate Flower side quest. In this video we will go over the easiest path to deliver the delicate flower to the Traitors' Child.
The delicate flower is given to you by the Grey Mourner in the Resting Grounds. She has asked you to place it at the grave of her mantis lover in the Queen's Gardens. The flower is very fragile and will be destroyed if you take damage.
List of Ways to Destroy the Flower:
- Taking any damage
- Riding the Stagways
- Using the Dreamgate
While riding the Stagways will break the flower, riding the trams will not.
As of Godmaster, additional flowers can be acquired after the quest is completed, allowing flowers to be given to other recipients once the Grey Mourner has departed. These can be found growing near the grave where the original flower was delivered.

Only a few. I ran it a few days ago and only the mantis petras respawned, as well as some other minor enemies like the flying shrubs and blind mushrooms. So it is true but to an extent.

I tried the quest before watching this video and thought that I was a genius for thinking of using a dream gate to just warp to the grave. I was very disappointed when the flower got destroyed.

Fun fact: The flower is perfectly capable of surviving an explosion, stag ride, etc. It just disintegrates out of spite because it wants you to become as angry and jaded as itself.

I know this is about 3 years too late, but I found some cheese to get the flower to Elderbug, Oro and the Godseeker with very little effort, and I haven’t seen anyone else mention it. it should only take a few minutes. First, you have to get the flower to the Traitor’s Child. Then, you have to sit at a bench near your target, I would recommend the Dirtmouth Bench for Elderbug, the bench next to Oro’s hut, and the Royal Waterways bench that you get with the Desolate Dive. Then, you have to walk to your nearest Stag Station, and without sitting on a bench, take the Stag to Wueen’s Garden. Then go to the Delicate Flower next to the grave, and put a dream gate next to it. Then, leave the game and log back in, and you will be right next to your target with a flower.

i actually dont think hollow knight is pretty hard. the only thing that gets challanging is the godseeker dlc, radiance and the grim troupe final boss. main game mostly is pretty tame. but its nothing like sekiro or demon- or dark souls 1

great video, but you missed something: always give the Delicate Flower to the Elderbug before doing anything
there are something like 6 different NPC that will accept the flower. After it is delivered more will spawn at the grave

If you leave the room after delivering the first time (you might need to sit at a bench) and go back, there will be flowers you can pick up

After you start doing stuff like trying to get all the lifeblood nests to get as much life as possible to try to cheese Grimm or something like that Delicate flower actually looks pretty easy.

Not the path that I took🤔, I thought the crossroads were too dangerous cos everything EXPLODES!!! I instead took the elevator down to the city of tears then went into the fungal wastes, then fog canyon, then the queen's gardens. However I did not destroy any enemy before the run though
I died 3-4 times on my runs so I found it easiest to destroy everything before the run. Takes longer but pretty much a guaranteed win

This quest gives me so much anxiety. I did it exactly how its told in the video and took me 30 minutes because of how much anxiety and hesitation I was having over the must littlest thing. I got through it though.

The rightmost spikes gap is too risky for a non-upgraded (non-shadow) dash!
The Sharp Shadow charm is HIGHLY recommended to pass through without heart attack. Take care.

Followed your video and got it on my first try. As you recommended, did a dry run and cleaned out all the enemies for a cleaner 2nd pass with flower. Some hair-raising moments. That last thorn jump got my heart racing. Thank you Relyea and as others have said, thank you for making your videos immediately to the point! After watching yours, the lack of narration bothers me on others' videos.
Just like everyone else, on my first run I caught the edge of the spikes and was devastated. Luckily, I got it on my second try. Also, how the heck does stepping on a spike destroy the flower but not falling from a thirty foot drop?!

The path you took looks like a real pain to traverse. I went through Forgotten Crossroads to the elevator for City of Tears, from there go to Fungal Wastes and then to Queen's Gardens. The only real threat along your way is mostly the flying mantis that throws the circlet at you.

How did y’all go from City of Tears to Fungal Wastes? Isn’t it shut off and it forces you to go through Royal Waterways?
Thank you so much. I have such a habit of sitting on benches to save soul that I wouldn't have thought to just kill everything without sitting on benches and then just repeat the cleared path with them dead, even though I knew many big enemies don't respawn until you sit on a bench.
I made the mistake of killing all the enemies and then sitting at the bench once 😅
RIP. Though in all honesty, I almost did that right before I went to get the flower from the Grey Mourner
chance shadow I didn’t even know they there was a relationship between enemy spawn and bench sitting...
For me the safest run is through City of Tears, into Fungal Wastes, through Fog Canyon into Queen's Garden. Super safe if you're at end game.
i'm aware this is a 2 year old comment but man, thanks a lot for this! i picked up hollow knight again after a while of not playing and could not figure out how to do this quest for the life of me. i was thinking of going through crossroads (infected) to greenpath to queen's gardens but i had to worry about explosions way too often. your route is A LOT more peaceful than the one i was trying to do.

Second try: Halfway there Fog Canyon..... (Touches orange egg) *BOOM*
Third try: Third time's the cha- (Down slashes too early and falls on jellyfish) *BLAM*
Fourth try: *SUCCESS* 🌸🌸🌸🌸
That first one happened to me, and the 2nd and 3rd one are why I decided: I’m going through fungal wastes, I cannot go through any part of fog canyon without getting hit.

Just finished this quest... I didn’t even think to clear the enemies before doing my run! I went from Crossroads through Greenpath and down from Queen’s garden. Needless to say, it took a long time. Wonderful tutorial either way!

I used different setup, instead of killing everything in my path beforehand I tried to do it on one run, I went over charmed and used fragile/unbreakable strength, Grubberfly’s elegy, mark of pride, and quick slash. (Decided to use quick slash to spam the beams) thx to you I did it in 2 tries :)

Thank you so much, Relyea! Just tried this and by some miracle I was able to deliver the flower on my first run. The only enemies that respawned were the jellies, mossflies and the aspids and those were easy to evade or kill.
