I think one reason Forsaken was so successful is because it was so emotionally charged. Most of Destiny, even the near-apocalyptic parts, feels so casual, like it's just another day as a Guardian. But things like Forsaken, Taken King, Rise of Iron, and Red War didn't, because the storyline was so emotionally engaging. We need more storytelling like that.
This 100%. The emotional drive behind the story of a DLC can literally make or break it to be honest.
Here after completing Witch Queen and this is more true than you know. I didn't give 2 shits about Shadowkeep or Beyond Light but Witch Queen had be gripped from start to finish. Savathun's resurrection scene is one of the best in the franchise.
I'm pretty sure one of the main reasons they killed Cayde was to make this expansion personal to get players back to Destiny and it worked. At the cost of the best character in the game.

Zebo8000 They have been reset that number of times, not rebuilt. Exos just reset their minds to prevent their brains from rejecting their Exo bodies, causing them to lose memories in the process. Exo’s die like everyone else, rebuilding them would essentially be making a robot.
Zebo8000 The numbers are the amount of memory wipes happened in an exo, there’s more to it in the lore but ya it doesn’t mean how many times they’re rebuilt

6 Years later, I can finally forgive Uldren. It took the line between light and dark being erased but now he's my vanguard.
With Beyond Light approaching, this theme of "the line between Light and Dark is so very thin" becomes so much more meaningful.

I always go on a trailer watching spree before a new expansion comes out. Can’t believe I’m saying this already cause it feels like witch queen just came out yesterday, but I’m hyped for Lightfall coming out next week
