We also discuss the importance of these callings and how they impact the marriage relationship and beyond.
The 6 callings we present include:

These 6 callings are foundational in order for marriages to experience extraordinary. In each of these categories, we share scripture, testimonies, and application. Our hope is that couples would evaluate their marriage to see if they are excelling in these callings or need to grow in them. We hope this episode is encouraging and challenging.

That part opened my eyes! I had never thought of it beyond deciding to let my pain go.
Marriage After God this is a personal question but how did you overcome the porn addition and as a wife with a husband that struggles with this and a husband who doesn't believe it impacts our marriage. But I am hurting much from this. He is not walking with the Lord. I would appreciate any answers to help me help him. Thanks.
Forgiveness
Marriage After God Forgiveness hands down. How can I expect to be forgiven for my behavior when I was unwilling to forgive for his actions.
That I am guilty of not fulfilling any of these 6 callings for my marriage. I cried and my heart aches that I have not been the wife my husband needs. Thank you for this. I can not wait to go through the other videos and get your books. I feel we need to start at the beginning. Where should we start?
Ive been married coming up on 32 years. On our tenth year we were going thru seperation divorce, one day we got together and prayed and we asked God what he wanted us to do? So we said we will open the bible and what he says, the words we will read we shall do? Well when we opened the bible, we read, GOD HATES DIVORCE! we both cried and thank our father God.
That's crazy. Wow! God is Amazing!

This was needed...my wife and I are having a really rough time right now. I’ve been the worst husband ever and have done a huge disservice to my wife. We’ve separated and I’m not even in the same state has her. This video has spoke to me like you wouldn’t believe. I pray to God everyday that I can become the man she needs and I can have that second chance to make things right.
My husband and I have been married for four short years. In the beginning of our marriage we were both running from God. He had been single for most of his life and living the single guy lifestyle and I had been married to my pastor husband for the last 25 years ( i was not happy ).
I believe God put my now husband and myself together for a purpose and would love to find out what that is. We have decided that we want to be not only closer to each other but closer to God as a couple which is why I have decided to start listening to your podcasts. We are going to use them as a daily devotion. A lot of what you talked about in this podcast has hit home in our life . We have a great relationship we are best friends but we also have some issues that we both need to address. Just wanted to thank you very much for for making these videos. So, my husband and I literally just had a conversation about prayer as we were driving home today. He was very aditmate about not feeling like praying with me (I'm constantly praying for our family). I felt defeated. I left it alone. As soon as I picked up my phone, the link to this podcast came in. I knew the Lord was feeling my pain. Talking about on time!! Please be patient with your husband I am in the same boat with him I really don't pray out loud with my husband I guess I feel like it is my private time with God. But he has asked me to start praying with him instead of him always being the leader in our daily devotion. I never really saw the reason behind praying with your as a couple until I listen to I now realize he is struggling also and needs to know where my heart is by praying with him he can heart.
You guys are awesome! My husband and I love to see and hear marriages grow in all areas of life. We love this 6 calling points. Even though we have been together for 24 years, we are still growing and these points you guys have address have definitely bless us. Thank you!

Yes im still praying for my future life partner though he is not around that he give his heart/ life to God,believe and accept HIM as his Saviour.And most of all become a GOD FEARING guy.True forgiveness is a command that we need to obey as a believer of Jesus.If we commit sin by watching porn before,we have the chance to repent cause if we confessed our sin God forgive us,and to cleanse us.Last point is generousity is essential for me and that is my passion that God put into my heart.I REALLY BLESS FOR THIS VIDEO.

I can relate to her wanting to not forgive because it seems as though it will give the spouse a free pass to keep doing the wrong thing. But it takes trust in God to change the spouse’s heart

I can certainly relate to the trust part. I, too did not trust my emotions I did not trust Him like I should do that led to me not trusting my husband( second marriage). I had to get grounded and draw close to God to understand that my spouse is not responsible for past hurts in my previous marriage. Seeing my spouse through Jesus eyes has given me so much hope!

I was talking to our youth pastor who was leaving on a calling from God and was sharing how I wish God would call on me. He said to me , he felt God had already called on me when we fostered and adopted two children and raised them up to ne adults. That's when it hit me like a punch to the face. All along and I never realized it. I know now that was my wife and my calling.

I love this video! I am in this battle currently with my wife. I played this video on the tv in our living room and she cares not, she continues to withhold forgiveness and love and intimacy. I pray daily about it and try to no avail to show her scripture that pertains to these very things, she is 100% uninterested, her mind is made up. I just dont understand how she could change so much. Her heart seems completely gone for me. I'm not quite sure what I did other than things she sees as character flaws. I have never abused her or my children, never cheated, dont drink and drug, not a gambler, dont squander our money on things.. I just dont understand. She left in july of 19, with our 4 sons, she came home with them in Oct, yet still refuses to heal with me, forgive and move forward as one. I weep daily, I miss her so much, she is right here but out of reach. She sleeps on the couch every single night. I just dont know what to do anymore. Now I've begun praying for the Lord to help me get over her and find the strength to leave my family and home and to go serve God by way of missions and witnessing. Thank you for your great video. Thank you for sharing this! The whole message and each of the 6 callings spoke to me! I’d say that the prayer one spoke very strongly! That we should be praying with and for each other! And also that even if our spouse may not be in a good place we can pray for them! Another thing that stuck out is the scripture you chose for love! I never thought about loving your neighbor as being first and foremost your spouse! And when you love God and love your spouse you are free to better love others in your life! And also to love even when you don’t feel like it or perhaps you aren’t getting it fully in return...still obeying the command to love! Good stuff! Thank you so much for sharing this powerful message! It really spoke to my heart and resonated with me! I think is important to be intentional about following these callings on your marriage.
My husband & I were separated for almost 3 years. I even typed up divorce papers & he signed them. But I never had peace & eventually tore them up. We lived in different towns & just started dating again & eventually I moved back home. We only pray together at dinner. I pray small prayers throughout my day. Our communication is better then what it was. Marriage is a learning process. We have always loved each other just not liked each other.
I had to forgive my husband for being unfaithful! God did help with building my trust back up. I can relate so much to what you guys said about forgiveness & trust. Wow!!!

WOW, love your story!! Sounds like what my wife and I have been through in our marriage. Sadly, my wife walked away 11 months ago. Currently separated, I am praying that she and God get to work things out just as He and I have. I believe we're coming back soon to live out our lives and finish this race strong. Both of your ministries have touched my heart greatly! I purchased both Husband and Wife After God and accompanying Prayer books months ago and now with my job change I can hopefully dig in and read them. Hopefully my wife and I will get to read them together soon. Your video that went with those books also touched me as that was a mirror of us and what I hope this separation will bring (feels crazy to say that but, I know Father has pulled us apart for a reason).

I'm in tears. I'm experiencing so many of these problems with lack of trust, withholding love, withholding forgiveness in my marriage. My husband keeps telling me, "You need to change. You need to submit." He makes me feel as though I'm the problem in our marriage. That I'm the only one that needs to work on self-improvement. I do individual Bible studies, read my Bible, pray, read countless Christian books on marriage, seek wisdom from peers at church, etc. I try to impliment what I'm learning, but he hardly gives me a chance to see anything to fruition. I'm really struggling with the negativity, his lack of effort to revive the relationship, and learning to trust and submit to him.
I was married once before and blindly trusted and submitted to my 1st husband. He was a chronic liar and unfaithful.
Because of past experience, and not my husband's fault, I struggle to trust his judgement in most things. And in turn I struggle to submit. We've been married 5 months. How does one learn the art of submission to her husband?
The more I study and pray, the more I realize I am the only one praying or giving to God....I’m not sure my husband is truly saved.
One of our very best friends introduced your pages and this video to us the other day. Our marriage has been broken but we we are picking up the pieces. You’ll never know how much your openness and vulnerability to talk about the addiction of pornography has helped us. More so, NOT letting the (possible) shame of the past stop you from talking with Biblical authority has helped me more than you know, to realize my shame for what my husband has done does not need to control me. He has the right and authority to speak truth just like anyone else now that he has repented and his secrets and lies have been exposed and he has been washed clean by God. More work ahead, guardrails, trust to build, etc., but we will get there. Thank you for allowing God to use you!!! One of the biggest things about sec addiction is the shame that comes with it. Y’all talking so freely helps others out of their shame I can imagine!!

I just found your podcast and really enjoy it so far. When it comes to forgiveness. What if I have forgiven him but he doesn't really forgive me? We both have hurt each other. We are still together, almost got divorced but dismissed it last Monday.

I struggle with feeling like Jennifer in forgiveness. If I forgive, then he will think its okay and keep doing it. But that is not Biblical!

Question how did you as the husband be more of someone your wife can trust more? I find that my wife’s struggles with God are caused me. She doesn’t trust God because she doesn’t trust me. What’s some things I can do to help her trust me more?
So sad we didn’t win even after the traumatic thing we went through doing one of the challenges lol! So fun I explained my husband took me to a secret hideaway waterfall and he got hurt and I had to scream for help and race back to the hospital to get him stitches long story short now I’m having to just take the reigns on our home and him and it was quite the experience and I just thought and felt that basket could just give us some light after such a crazy Day! So wonderful to Ashley who won because you will 100% have a different more successful marriage after doing the books doing everything! My marriage is living proof! My marriage has gone thru much of what yours had. We are in divorce court now but i am hoping for a miracle that God will soften my wife's heart and she will reconsider and reconcile. My husband is an unbeliever, but I try to submit to him even if it's difficult. However, when it comes to giving, I love giving, and he is against it. So I give from my salary and don't tell him, is that a sin?
My husband doesn't pray ever because he doesn't beleive the power of prayer, he believed that bible is just collection of myths, doesn't believed that God has gender and we shouldn't rely to much on our God. I grew up very devotional to God, and I am struggling living with my husband because we have different beliefs. He is a nice person who cares for others and my children, but when we start talking about God, we are having a lot of arguments. Most of the time, I let him win the arguments in order to end the conversation and move on. So, this is the question I have been asking God, why him and not the other one?
