With Messi in MLS, American soccer will surely rise to greater heights. Beckham did the right moves and Messi made the right decision
The "right" decision? I agree it'll do amazing things for our soccer culture and I'm so happy here is here - huge fan of his. But saying he made the "right" decision is extremely presumptuous and arrogant thinking you know the answer for him. He took less money to come play for Miami so he made a selfless decision based on what he wanted.
It's not American soccer, it world football, while American football is played with hands 😉
@@Axeom he didn't take less money from saudi offer tbf. instead taking flat salary offered by saudi, he got percentage revenue from broadcast and profit from merch sales on top of his flat salary, also he can buy part of club in mls cheaper. that percentage profit shared to him can be valued higher than flat salary from saudi, beside that he can still maintain his brand since he's playing in pretty much not somewhere outside of the grid for media. it's not selfless decision, it's business decision and smart one
@@prohanta9360 I'm aware of that. He gets a % of new Apple TV MLS sign-ups, etc. But with the exception of a new clup signing flat rate, many of these perks are not in perpituity.

US has everything to make MLS one of the best league like logistics, stadium, money, big media house etc ..messi magic will make it popular globally.. People from each part of the world are now talking about MLS and inter Miami because of Messi.. And Miami which is on bottom of table would be one of the reasons why people will watch the game more just to see how Messi will win title with Miami in upcoming season.. It's another challenge for Messi which he will win for sure...😊

Yes but to understand why David Beckham was almost crying is to understand the history. Inter Miami didn't exist before. David Beckham started this whole franchise from nothing and to think now the best player in the world is playing in your team has to be magical.
I would never think Beckham to be so smart to be honest…his emotional understanding of the importance of “in” and “off” the pitch will be key for Léo, the fact that he sees him doing his own groceries in family and that’s key for him to start judging his level of happiness is very, very, veeeeery good.
Becks was crying because he realizes the magnitude of what he just did. Not only that. Messi is smiling with joy, at last. And Becks knows he played a big part in it. Happy Messi=Happy World. And MLS just hit the lottery pot.

I think Messi loves the relatively laid back atmosphere here in the USA. The media attention + fan recognition is dialed WAY down compared to Europe or Latin America.

Over-all, I feel the same vibes I felt when leo started his Argentina campaign under Lionel Scaloni, with new, young, talented, hungry players who played with their life on the line for leo and AFA. I am pretty sure, Inter Miami is going to be the top-tier team with many trophies in their cabinets and hope everyone should take this slow.. no hurries.

the fact that Beckham said you don't start winning trophies straight away, it takes time and the next week they won their first trophy. and in the next month they are play for the second one. It's messi and barca magic. imagine they got suarez and iniesta this summer. There is no stopping miami.
this happened 2 years ago. Messi was to sign at Barça for 2 more seasons to this summer when Busquets contract would have expired. They both then would make the trip to Miami. The trip Messi took from Paris to Barça with bags, he had dinner with Busquets and Alba, that is when the overall plan to Miami started to take shape, Busquets decided to not renew at Barça and Alba decided to end his contract and not do final year. Only thing pending was if Barça could make his signing possible, then he would delay Miami for at least 1 season to get a farewell from Barça, that is why Messi didn't wait on Barça and it didnt make sense to wait either. So it became official then and he announced. Saudi was NEVER an option for him.
Saudi offered $400 million per year, I think at least he answered the call(?
I think it sounds just about right. I'm disenchanted that he didn't wait but who can blame him? Barca and the Spanish League were hard to trust. I hope he makes a positive impact on the MLS and goes out on a good note. Mas and Beckam were anything but disenchanted though... they scored a big hit.

We are from india . Paid 6000 rupees from india for MLS season pass. It’s way too expensive for us. It’s one months salary for an average Indian football lover. You would get 100 millions more viewer , if you can make it not so exclusive.

Why is it so hard to find interviews/press conferences of Messi with Inter Miami? I know he just joined and it would likely be in Spanish, but did he talk to ESPN after that first game? Fox? Did he even speak with MLS media? You'd think they'd want to make him as visible as possible.
Or is this all his set-up? Maybe he only talks to certain media he has already selected? Just seems weird, he's one of the most famous faces on the planet but outside of that one game and free kick MLS barely has any media to show of him talking.
