She’s back! The Troll Hag is another iconic Forgeworld sculpt that has been brought back for The Old World for bulking out your Orcs and Goblins army! This is a big piece but it doesn’t need to be scary to paint, I promise you, she’s not difficult at all! Excited to see what you think and let me know what other Orcs and Goblins tutorials you’re looking for now that they’re finally out for preorder!

Mither is pronounced My-ther. It means to bother or annoy. Where I grew up in Derbyshire it was used quite a lot "Nay Mither!" (no bother). Loved the colours on the troll hag you picked, I also think the sculptor knocked it out of the park with this model.

It looks really good. It'd be interesting to add some gloss vanish to some parts to represent the river aspect. I added a yellow glaze to my river trolls to pop the green saturation but I really like super saturated trolls :)

Absolutely love this! Glad you didn’t give up on her. She turned out fantastically. I still paint old school style without zenithal priming and contrast paints, etc. I learned to paint in the early 90’s and am a little hesitant to use some of these techniques. Watching your videos makes me want to try them. Keep up with the great work! 👍

The glossy effect from the new formula GW shades can be fixed by giving a washover with Lahmian Medium. It's a common problem with the new shades. If a bit of air has got into them or they are over a year old. even with shaking vortex mixer for 2 minutes still a 50/50 chance over glossy finish. 🙄 hopefully GW change the formula so it doesn't happen any more.

The more detailed thing I meant to say, is that I love your painting videos for models that inspire me to just crack on and show that its not hard to paint, but I appreciated this video because you put in a lot of work and even though you seemed to find it frustrating you kept going and the end result is really good.@@MediocreHobbies

Awesome video as ever Andy. I think if I do this model I would shade in old Agrax or similar as the blood shade is a little too scary for me and I don’t think my layering is patient and precise enough to rescue that.

Excellent video as always! I wanted to pick up this mini and the large giant but the costs put them out of my league. On a side note, I made a killing on used orc artillery this week so I didn't have to buy any of that but I also picked up a Orruk Maw-Krusha NIB for about 50% off. Do you think I could run that as a Black Orc Warboss on Wyvern? Will it fit on a 50mm x 100mm?

Need a creative base. Somthing that starts smaller and builds out as it goes up.
Model looks… err… Nice paint job! lol. I had a question I’ve started to base my Old Wold with MDF after watching your videos. I’ve seen several people mention MDF warps with moisture, have you found any of your bases warping due to paint? This is mostly mentioned on dioramas so perhaps the size being as small as bases are it’s not an issue. Just wanted to see if you’ve seen that or have done anything to prevent it?
Nope haven’t noticed a single base bend at all.
