Hi everyone! It's Javi (Javipaintsminis)! Thanks a lot for your words, I'm happy you liked my paintjob and conversion! It has been a pleasure to take part of the video :)
The truth is that I don't think I understood the task very well, hahaha, I thought I simply had to make a version of Lukas' piece but not copy it 100%, otherwise I would have removed the hair and the eagle from the chestplate!
Keep your brushes sharp!
It's really a bit abstract. For example, I did not add more pigments or that osl because once done it seems to me to dirty the paint with so many pigments and that osl looks like rust and very forced. I just did what I thought was right. Congratulations to all the painters, we have very good artists and especially in Spain😊
my jaw dropped upon seeing your work mate... it is gorgeous and you should be proud. well done mate
@@Peedrinka gracias
@@Peedrinka Thanks a lot!
@@waldo_paints Yeah, I thought and did the same! Cheers!
The weapon being chained to the hand is lore accurate. Javi was the only artist out of everyone who did this... nerd level 1000!
He should have gotten extra points for the chains
And still he did not remove the aquila... Nerd level disappointing
@@fetalmistake5624 Achtually its an Imperialis not an Aquila so maybe up your nerd level as well
Wannabe Worldeaters!
Was gna thumb up this comment but it's at 666 so I'll drop mine here👍🏽
Many thanks to those who liked my work (WALDO PAINTS) and especially to Emil and Lukas. I was delighted that some of you noticed the detail of the Thundercats sword.
I was going to comment about the sword of omens.
I love your model, honestly near perfect in my opinion.
Amazing work! 😁❤️👍🏻
I WAS LIKE WAIT is that thundercats??
@@MrPyrowolf51yes😂
Excellent bud!
Javi was my favourite. The staff alone was awesome. However the last one was the best value by far.
Agreed Javi's is just stunning his highlighting is amazing. I'm willing to bet good money that waldo_paints just realized that they can charge more for their work LOL.
@@GanjaCoyoteSsssshuush, nobody tell Waldo 😜
My main conclusion from this video is that mini painters don't get paid nearly enough...
Pretty much the truth for most artists and people who produce hand crafted stuff. Most stick to doing it as a hobby vs. an actual career / profession because it can be damn hard convincing the general public to cough up the dough for original works when they're used to mass produced prices.
The quality of Fiverr artists has gone up so much over the years and I actually think your channel profiling them has helped bring in more talent to the platform. Very cool.
What drives talent out of fiverr tho is that 20% commission.
Thanks guys! ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
You deserved higher on the paint level!
@@Getoffmycloud53 thank you for your kind words 🥰
@@MushaMiniatures At that price you were very good !
I also think you should have scored higher! Very awesome work and you matched the style quite well. Very impressive.😊
@@sigh_bold8192 thanks a bunch! I’m so glad to read that lots of you liked my piece 🥰
The last one wins for one reason - they've painted it as the Sword of Omens from Thundercats.
Stop the count. Game over. No one beats that.
beat me to it
Thunder... thunder...
Yesss 🎉🎉🎉
Hey Jonty! Didn't expect to meet you in this corner of the internet. Hope all well with you and ChainBear.
@@TheGravyMonsterthanks man, things are okay I guess.
You never know who you'll see in various places 😅
You'll find me all over 40K stuff though. Been a Warhammer nerd since 1990 🤣
(oh god I'm old)
Small part of me wants to paint myself.
Large part of me wants well painted minies ...
That’s so what I was thinking. I so want to be able to paint to that level. But my collection of Airfix models says ! NO ! Way.😂😂😂
Hey, I'm on the same struggle bus
It's not too hard to get to a level you can be at least proud of. I used to paint minis when I was much younger, and while my skill never EVER came close to approaching this level of skill, what I did put out I was at least happy with. So, with a bit of practice, you can at least churn out an army you'd be happy to field that folks would still be impressed by =) There's some pretty easy tricks for painting nice minis as long as you're not hoping to win national championships. I got good enough to win local shows XD
The difference in tones could be due to the monitor settings in which every artist saw the reference picture. It`s hard to tell the exact real pigments from a jpg
All of them were amazing. Its crazy how talented these artists are.
This video adds to the proof that Lukas is an amazing painter
The last one looked like the Sword of Omens from Thundercats. Loved it.
Yes! I was just coming here to say I can't believe they didn't notice the Eye of Thundera on the last one!
yes thank you, was breaking my head over it :p
you have a good eye 👁️🗡️🐱
good one ;) @@waldo_paints
I really enjoy when this type of content comes out. It is cool to see how different artists paint.
If you could win the painting on, candles alone.. the wax job on the Waldo mini if fantastic! Bravo.
I was really hoping someone would add a weapon chain, go Javi!!!!!
I love the Thundercats Sword of Omens on #6
🤟😜
I gotta say Lukas did such an amazing job painting this miniature here. The painting level in insane, id love to be able to produce anything even close to that. It also reminds me a little bit of the grimdark painting style, which is a absolute favourite!
The mini Lucas painted is my favorite. The details of the sculpted tabard won me over. The sculpt has a realistic flow to it with shadows, lighting, and dusty pigment adding to the realism.
Next video: How to properly package and ship miniatures.
You should have a price category as well. Maybe a +/-15% of total adjustment for price.
Tbh I don't think that's a good idea. Being an artist is hard enough without further incentivizing them to lowball their prices. People are going to pay what they can afford, and people are going to charge what they can live with, and having a high profile youtuber giving bonus points for cheapness doesn't benefit anyone!
Well, the argument is true in the reverse, someone that charge less is not going to put in the same effort as someone that charge twice the amount. @@witeshade
These are my favourite videos, especially when you mix up the artists you pick.
the last ones sword being done as the thundercats sword was the best little detail for me
Amazing job by all the artists ! Great idea for a video
Last one have such a beatiful detailing on armor edges- like it really worn out!
aquila is the eagle with two heads, imperialis is the skull with wings.
the reliquary on the loano one is pretty badass
To me this challenge only confirms how incredibly good Lukas is!
Also the sword of the last one seems to be a version of the "sword of omen" from thundercats with that eye in the red crystal
Yesss, thundercats thundercats thundercats 😂
@@waldo_paintsI am so envius of all that can paint this well, i SUCK at painting and now my eye/handcordination sucks even more and my sight going bad. I WISH i could paint even decent but i am basicly on my dead cats painting skill level. I do enjoy watching what other can do and this was awesome, and the sword of omen things makes it so cool. and it wouldnt really be out of place in the lore with a warp-twisted crystal letting you see things far away in space and time... to bad they didnt see or comment on that.
@@ronnyhansson8713 I'm glad to know that you like my work, for small anonymous artists like me, these comments are pure energy that help me continue painting, which is my great hobby
I would not feel bad at all spending 100 on that masterpiece. Holy cow! They're all beautiful, but for the value.... yeah, that's the clear winner.
Definitely need to see a video of Lucas painting that Black Templar. It looks incredible, the face looks amazing.
Should add a "Packing skill"
Most people that want to buy minis are not as good with tools but still want a cool army. So reciving an broken mini could be devastating.
Jonas had a truly unique style of painting if you asked me. I actually really dig his own sort-of "3D comic book" style of model painting.
always love the Fiverr content when it comes around
Really makes me rethink my level and what I would charge, lower end. Great work to the artist in this vid
Waldo No 6 deserves more for originality. They put an eye on the sword, turning it into the Sword of Omens from Thundercats.
Thanks ❤
I feel like the fine dust effect was probably one of the most important things making that piece look so realistic and no one managed to get eve close. No sand on the fists, no sand on the swords. You scored them way too high.
Emil : Jokes on toilet paper
The Toilet Paper : One of the few methode to not break the mini
Well I could only ever dream of painting to the level of any of these painters. Absolutely amazing job from all of them. 👏👏👏
Just practice bro I believe in you
@@puzzlejinx That’s so kind, I will thank you.
Best mini show :) great work all painters! „Winning nothing” but our respect :)
would love to see painting of this mini by you, not only showing it for others to copy
Did anyone else notice the last ones sword was the one from Thundercats nice little detail. All amazing paint jobs 👌
I think, Lukas` figure was the best. Especially the dirt and the fine face. I liked it the most.
I really liked them all and the first one I loved that custom staff
I'd like to see the scores further broken down between score per dollar. Which of course I can do myself but it's nice to assign a score for value. Awesome entries!
I love these videos!! There are so many very talented painters in the world. I'm curious, do you let them know that it will be featured on a video? That would make me nervous as hell lol! Thank you so much for the awesome content as always!
As Musha sent 2 hats I guess they knew who they were painting for…
The sword looks awesome on the first mini!
They all win in my heart because they have what it's important in life: your money.
do you have a tutorial for those black templars anywhere? they are absolutely amazing!
If I got these mini photos as a reference, I would ask if I also need to copy the cat hair on the chest as well :D
In UK we call DHL drop it,hide it,lose it. Clearly living upto the drop part lol.
DHL bad work 👎
Can you explain what you mean by pigments?
There a very fine powder you brush on.
Who sells them?
@@WarFan07 I use weathering pigments from tamiya
@@WarFan07 You can also use soft pastels and just scrape of the pigments, much more cost efficient.
i think that was a bad criteria, since they didn't say that they wanted pigments in the order, and from the one photo they included you can't tell if it's pigments or just landscaping dust or paint.
Love this kind of videos :)
While every single mini looked absolutely stunning, I have to commend Jonas for painting the most unique one, it looks like it climbed out of a comic book. Good job everyone, keep up the good work
They're all amazing, wish I could afford a full army painted by any of these guys.
Also love these Fiverr videos that you guys do!
Getting a real Thundercats Sword of Omen vibe from the sword on the 6th mini
"I hate people taking freedoms" lmao I love this guy!
Without a doubt... I love those Fiverr challenges set by Emil 🤟
Javier’s is simply incredible. Sorry but it’s just fantastic!
What kits are the swords from used on these minis, its really cool and i want to use one.
That last one... That sword looked suspiciously like Lionore's sword from Thundercats 😁😁
Yes❤
By Thundara!! A Thundercat is in danger! Sword of Omens, Give me Sight beyond Sight!
Daaaamn, i never thought about removing the Hairs from the Heads 😅 thanks!
Javi added chains on the sword hand so def forgive him for leaving the Aquila! That’s a super niche BT thing!
I feel like a lot of them struggled with good posing. They come off as kinda awkward and/or off balance. Waldo is the only pose that really works for me
Oddly, i think the one with least points in the results looks most like a Black Templar colour wise. When did we start doing them so grey and silver highlights? The one with the chain, thats not just a nuce touch its what any sword brother should have.shouldwr pad trims are all wrong though BUT, maybe im being too much of a nerd.
Best chapter ever, mooooore Black templars PLEEEEEEAAAASEEEE!
Seing these prices that just makes me wanna invest in a metal or plastic 3d printer, a paint remover and a painting set
lukas`s mini is so good !
Next time, tell them what you want done xP bald head, aquilla removed, tabard sculpted, pigments, OSL. THAT'S KINDA IMPORTANT TO KNOW, FOR AN ARTIST YOU HIRE.
Love the thundercats sword!
Yess❤
I like how Waldo gave the mini an Indonesian flag, good to know that Indonesia is still standing strong in the 41st millennia.
So you CAN use paper for miniature work! That is very interesting to see. I love the idea of having dynamic parts on models (chains/tabbard's/etc) so that when you move them around, they have parts that move the way they would normally. Not make or break for a model, but it's a cool "extra".
It is a bad Idea ussually...
Moving parts will hit other surfaces, what equals to chop paint...
Part of a great posing is to give momentum and movement to the character actions... having dinamic parts ussually ruins this (imagine a exterminator with chains as skirt, and doing a pose of "I will chop your head with my axe hit" ussually you would want a fixed pose for the chains, just like how you like moving capes.
Paper have been used many times but ussually it gets saturated of cyanocrytale glue so it gets rigid.
may I ask what pigments were used in the referenced mini ? :)
Amazing skills! Javi is my favorite
What pigment colour did you use for the base om your original mini?
it feel like on this one you were judging extremely good artist all of them looked so good
The last one looks like he painted the jewel like the Sword of Omens from Thundercats. I could be seeing things though lol.
Y'all missed the Thundercats sword there, major pts there! Guy won tho so...
Lion-o approves🐱
The last 100 dollar mini they painted like thundercats sword
Yesss, 🗡️👁️🐱
12:40 that is fun, I agree 10/10 haha
Lucas’ tabard is so bonkers good!
Omg Javipaintsminis is a monster, that chain in the handsword... how in hell? And the paint job, no words. Well maybe 200 hubdred words hehe
the last painted model , you guys missed the eye of thundera on the sword jewel.
in the last mini, the gem in the sword is reminding me of Thundercats.... I admit I am old :D
3:55 Starting to smell like Surströmming in there
0:53 - what was that music? - love that beat : )
next challenge: discord picks their best models, you guys have to COPY.
#5 is just insanely cool
Anyone else notice that Waldo's sword was a match for liono's sword in thunder cat 😂😂
Yesss. you have a good eye😂👁️
@@waldo_paints fantastic job also btw
The quality of all of these for the money is amazing. How they can paint this well, but fast enough to make a living is baffling.
honestly they look good, but only loano's was very good.
the rest kinda look like what we did back in the day with a random 3€ brush and normal colours just added over each other; with no special skills etc. and in mass (like 20 models at a time, was warhammer fantasy back then)
so as professionals taking 100+ € per model painted it doesn't seem very impressive. i mean 1-2 models should be an entire day off work.
remember we did like 20+ models paint in a day or two (since some required wait time), and again while maybe a bit less precision work, the looks where on par with the rest.
loano's was really good, that was 2 steps up from what we did.
2:22 that guy seems on another lvl. look at that treant in the middle bottom. look how much colour nuance is in there and how extremely beautiful every detail is, only the skulls on the shoulder and between legs could have been improved, and the leave between legs; the rest is basically perfect.
insanely high skilled work. i would use him over the rest if that's the general lvl
This video is pure gold. The comedy mixed with the information you guys share really is the best
the last one, the eye in the sword, which cartoon was that from?
Thundercats ❤🗡️👁️🐱
You should do a video where you each draft a handful of artist at different pricepoints for the same jobs, tallying points for whoever picked the better artist.
We did one half a year back:)
@@SquidmarMiniatures ahhh, I need to find that. Thanks!
It's cute that you and your boyfriend have matching shirts.
Lukas paint job was so good I can’t tell if that’s a piece of hair on his models chest or something else that he planned to be there.
How'd you do the pigment on your model te replicate?
Dammit, I'd offer my fistborn to Khorne/Tzeentch/Slaanesh just for being able to paint as any of them. Good job!!!!
The last models sword 'THUNDERCATS' sword of Omens
