    As I re-call, the sleeping bag kill, Kane Hodder (Jason) swung the sleeping bag 7 times into the tree, and they kept the last swing. It was the most aggressive swing, and the bag weighed 150 pounds. Kane was getting really pissed off having to swing it so many times.

      When you think about it logically it doesn't make any sense. For him to grab the sleeping bag in such a way that she doesn't slide out, he would have to grab it by the opening where her head comes out. This means when he swings the sleeping bag he is slamming her feet and legs into the tree. So while it would certainly injure her legs, it would not kill her.

The event kicked off with the lights in the venue going down, and Hodder (dressed as Jason) popping in through a door and dragging away a student.

  • @TeenTyrant
    @TeenTyrant Před 2 lety +22

    This was the first movie with Jason I ever watched, starting from where he’s chasing after Touch-Up Girl. I was immediately hooked by the idea that he would not die no matter what was thrown at him, best exemplified here with Tina’s powers. Tina is the unstoppable force and Jason is the immovable object, and Jason technically wins since even Tina’s powers only annoyed him for a moment. Her bribing her father back to contain him was the only way. Tina is the second most powerful opponent Jason ever faces (no spoiler that Freddy Krueger is most powerful), and even she barely got anywhere.
    This film was HEAVILY edited by the ratings people, and it shows. A lot of the deaths in their original forms were far, far gorier than you see here, especially the sleeping bag death. Jason slams that bag against the tree like 10 times until it’s soaked in the girl’s blood.
    Kane Hodder is by far the best Jason actor ever. He has a particular movement, especially with the head motions and Jason’s breathing, which gives him a feeling of character that he has not had before or since. Only the guy who plays him in the reboot gets close. It is said that Kane got the role by going to the audition, putting on a cheap plastic hockey mask and walking around like how he thought Jason would, which every other auditioned was asked to do. But then, right at the end, before he stopped to wait for their assessment, he walked to the table the casting people were sitting at, grabbed the table and threw it up against the wall like nothing, scaring the ever-loving crap out of all of them, and they gave him the role for being scary enough and strong enough to be Jason. It is truly saddening that they didn’t use him in FvJ.

    The sleeping bag kill is my favorite, but you have to love Jason taking the circular saw weed whacker to Dr. Crews. I liked Melissa's death, too, because he just flings her aside afterwards, almost to add insult to injury.
    Objectively, this one's pretty dumb, and the problems with the censors & one of the producers led to it being even dumber. Plus, the lack of chemistry between the two young leads is painfully evident. But I have a soft spot for it because I remember my friends & I going to see it on opening night. The theater was packed, and the whole audience was really into it. One of my fondest high school memories.
