    I went to Fort Lee in 2008 for my AIT as a 92 Yankee. It was easy as fuck! We got weekends off, and all we did was PT, go to classes, and chill for the rest of the day lol. We had like a week or probably just a couple days of field training, but other than that all we did was go to class for our jobs. Try to learn as much as possible when you're in AIT, because obviously it will help you when you get to your unit, but what they teach you in AIT is mostly basic things so you can get an understanding of what to expect at your unit. Once you get to your unit that is when you'll learn more about your job, and receive additional training. Goodluck! AIT is easy, you guys should not fail it.

Last thing I'd wanna worry about, when providing weapons, is making my fellow troops shoot their own eye out in the field, because of that one faulty piece of equipment I offer.... O_o

      That's one of the hardest MOSs to get promoted in. The promotion points only drop below 798 twice a year, and then, it's usually not much lower than 550.
      But, you won't necessarily have to 'bone up' on your mechanical knowledge. I had very little, and I still was the Honor Graduate from my class.
      Then again, that was over 20 years ago, and that was at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

    Hey! I am very interested in joining the Army as a 91b...my only concern is the physical demands rating of very heavy for that specific MOS. This might be stretching your memory, but when you went through MEPS, how were you tested so that you qualified for a very heavy rating? Was there squatting or dead-lifting involved? If so, how much weight is required to pass for a job that requires a very heavy rating? Anyway, I enjoyed the video and thanks for your service!

    • @Rocketmiller69
      @Rocketmiller69 Před 8 lety

      this is really old, but meps was easy. No dead lifts, no heavy lifting, just a lot of stretching and bending in regards to physical tests. But either way, if you are joining the army in any mos other than maybe something along the lines of clerical, then you'll be lifting a lot of heavy stuff. And basic you'll be doing heavy lifting as well. So I'd prepare yourself if that's your concern.

      itsKRH3 Any duty station the army wants to send you regardless of your MOS.If you're active duty, you will go to your duty station and most likely will have to spend like two weeks in a replacement company (like another reception), and have to watch out for thieves, modly latrines, and no privacy. Then you'll go to your unit, where you may or may not actually do your MOS as often as you thought you'd be doing when you enlisted in the Army.
      If you're national guard or reserve you'll go home.

    I'm going to ship off on June 27th for the same MOS, so I had a few questions. We're you always into mechanics ? and is that why you chose it. Or was it like completely new to you and you wanted to try something new ? Last question, was it hard training for that MOS? or would knowing about mechanics help you a little more in the class.

      +Maria Sanchez No I didn't choose it. its a funny story actually I actually went to meps and told them i wanted to leave asap so give me the quickest date and ill go. so i ended up getting 91b. and no matter what your mos is they will teach you everything from the beginning to end. so they will start buy showing you what a wreck is then they will teach you more and more.
