This is probably one of the better videos I have seen. Usually people are complaining and bitching about everything. I mean come on your joining the military not the lollipop gang so it is going to be difficult the vast majority of the time, you just have to remember why you joined and get your mind right and that will get you through. Your military experience will be what you make it and if your negative all the time you will hate it.
Thanks for the video that boosted my moral and I will be going to basic in a couple of months as well. :-)

Ahhhh Good Old Fort Jackson. I wonder how many people going will get to experience the sand pit lol
0 week was the worst part of basic because of how boring it was. You just sit there, try not to fall asleep and get your paper work done. Oh and some advice for those of you going to basic soon, if you can...volunteer to be your bay boss. The bay boss makes the fire guard roster. I did it (I didn't volunteer to do it, I was made) and I would use that to my advantage to work deals. Cough drops are like gold!

Also, I really appreciate your videos about BCT and AIT. They're really helpful and motivating! You really made me more excited and ready for the experience and glad I'm going to Ft. Jackson.
You'll love it. I did my basic at Fort Jackson. If it's going to be your first time away from home, just remember that time will start going by quickly once you get into your routine. Oh.....and have fun crawling in the red clay mud, lol.

did they ever make you girls sleep outside as a punishment ? I remember the girls at my barracks had to all sleep outside a bunch of times because they kept telling the DS bad things other girls were doing lol

Loved your video. My question is how long do they typically give the girls to shower? I'm leaving in 10 days to Ft. Jackson & I am concerned about the showers because I have long ass hair to my butt. I really don't wanna cut it & I'm a pro at having it in a bun lol. I'm just curious to know since my hair gets into a lot of knots and if I will have time to comb/brush it out before putting it into a bun. Unless they let you sleep with your hair down?
***** well when i went to fort jackson i didn't shower in the morning. i showered at night. that is when everyone does. they tell you to take your showers within ten minutes but i just took my showers after last formation and before bed check. they give you about two hours or so for all the girls to take their shower and get ready for bed. i have hair down to my butt and when i was in fort jackson i know this might sound gross but you don't really have time to brush it unless you do it while everyone is sleeping so i brushed my hair out on the weekends. because on Sundays and Saturdays you get free time while everyone is at church.

yes unless you want them to dye it for you. If you don't dye your hair before its not a big deal. Its just that if they notice its out of regulation then you will get it dyed the day you go to the px.

yes. if you are prior service and of higher rank (e4, e5) dont let anyone know. Drill sgt's will scope you out and give you shit.

What Advice Can U Give Me I Leave In 20 Days
Tay Hill the only advice i can give you is make sure you are ready. :) it isn't easy. but you can do it. and the DS are not always yelling at you they are also there to teach you and mentor you. there is a point in time when they are yelling and screaming but there is also a time where they teach you things you will use through out your career. honestly its fun. and you will get used to the yelling after a while. you can do it.
