Ugh and I swear that ALWAYS creeps me out, when your fighting a monster of THAT size, and they just STAND there taking the hits, because you just KNOW the counter attack is gonna be vicious.
Jet Bahumut is the leader( look at his boss stance ) Garnet Bahumut is the muscle of the group.( look at those biceps!!) Amber is the brains of the group( look at him you can just tell he's calculating his next move)
I remember playing this part with maxed out characters, monsters and weapons. I thought to myself, "Well Caius ain't that bad after all". but when the 3 bahamuts came along, I thought to myself "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU......"
It's real-time and turn-based. Enemies aren't going to wait for you to attack to attack you, since it's all real-time (for example, an enemy could kill you before you can heal if you aren't quick). You need to actively attack, heal, do whatever you must in battle to win and it takes a good deal of strategy if you're not terribly well-versed in the game.
I gotta say, even though I wasnt much a fan of the game overall, the music was just so hype, especially caius's theme and the final boss music. Also on another note, Caius's voice acting is jus oh my damn I love it.
Them choosing 3 bahamuts was a really inspired choice for a final boss. Wasn't expecting that at all, and it was great. Also that last boss theme is stunning - Hamauzu's best work.
Can you imagine being lifted up on a platform in the dark and then suddenly be surrounded by 3 dragons that wants to rip you to shreds??!!! Dang, I'd be scared to death o____O
It was astonishingly hard, one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought, I thought it was impossible (specially for the gigaflare and being alive more than two dragons, and the annoyance of the "Attitude Shift" by the Jet dragon when he was staggered, deprotected, deshelled and poisoned, God Fucking damn, that was really frustrating!), it's amazing how you managed to kill them without medics, congratulations!
The optional DLC coliseum bosses, especially Gilgamesh , are way harder. This one here is only difficult if you are underleveled. I was that too, but it's still not comparable to superbosses.
@@Vayne_Solidor Yup, it got pretty easy after I knew exactly what to do... And exactly what attack use at any given point... Here's how I feel about this 3 part battle: Part 1- the most surprisingly easy fight in FF. Part 2- the most epic, advent children-like boss fight in FF (which I actually thought was the final one). Part 3- the scariest FF final boss I've ever played 0_0 Even after all I'd been through I thought; We're just two kids!! How the F are we supposed to fight THAT.

Jet Bahamut is EASILY one of the best boss battles I've ever done in a game. It's one of the few fights that hits that perfect balance between challenge and fun while still having engaging mechanics and a pretty hype story to back it up. The FFXIII combat system was built for this kind of stuff, too bad FFXIII-2 didn't really have much of that outside of this fight and the DLC fights. Then again, I would play the entire game again just to do this fight if I had the time.
Much better final boss than FF13 or even lightning returns which I actually liked. This one proves you don't need a metric fuckton of hp to be challenging. I actually really enjoyed this fight unlike Bart/Orphan

"I don't care. I'm here to protect the future, and I will!" - that was actually pretty powerful. I mean, we know what happens - but as some of the fragment stories hint at.... there will likely be a XIII-3 that finishes the story of the fal'Cie, Caius, and the gods, and give us our happy ending.
